극저온 환경에서 에폭시 접착제의 물성 향상을 위한 나노 보강재의 표면 개질에 관한 연구 (The Effect of the Core-shell Structured Meta-aramid/Epoxy Nanofiber Mats on Interfacial Bonding Strength with an Epoxy Adhesive in Cryogenic Environments)

  • 극저온 환경에 노출되는 구조체의 접착조인트의 경우 피접착물과 접착물 사이에서 열팽창계수 차이로 인해 계면에서 잔류응력이 발생하게 되는데 이에 의해 접착조인트 내부에 미소균열, 층간분리 등의 형태로 파손이 발생할 우려가 있다. 본 연구에서는 높은 비강성, 낮은 열팽창계수의 특성을 지닌 메타 아라미드 섬유를 에폭시 기지재의 보강재로 사용하였다. 표면처리 공정을 간소화하기 위해 전기방사법의 고분자 혼합법(polymer blend method)으로 코어-쉘 구조의 메타 아라미드/에폭시 나노섬유를 제조하였다. 극저온 환경에서 계면특성이 향상된 코어-쉘 구조의 나노섬유를 보강한 에폭시 접착제의 전단물성을 확인하기 위해 환경챔버를 이용하여 $-150^{\circ}C$의 저온에서 단일 겹치기 실험(single lap joint test)을 진행하였다. 또한, DCB(double cantilever beam) 실험을 통해 파괴인성을 측정하였다. 그 결과, 극저온에서 일반 메타 아라미드 나노섬유에 비해 코어-쉘 구조의 메타 아라미드/에폭시 나노섬유를 보강한 접착제 시편이 우수한 계면특성으로 인해 물성이 크게 향상되었음을 확인하였다.

국내 노인에게 적용한 원예치료의 효과: 체계적 문헌고찰 (Effects of Horticultural Therapy for the Korean Elderly : A Systematic Literature Review)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to ascertain the effectiveness of horticultural therapy by analyzing researches on horticultural therapy applied to elderly Koreans. Methods: We evaluated 401 research papers including dissertations on horticultural therapy applied to elderly Koreans from Jan. 2000 to Feb. 2016. We reviewed the appropriate 12 papers among them for the final analysis. Results: Horticultural therapy had physiological and psychosocial effects. First of all, it showed the physiological effects of reducing stress hormones. Outdoor horticultural therapy improved the gross motor movements of the body. Indoor horticulture therapy improved delicate cognitive & operating functions. Second, horticultural therapy showed the psychosocial effects of reducing depression and improving cognitive functions, language abilities, comprehension, daily activity, life satisfaction and sociality. But the effects appeared differently dependent on the implementation protocol & period of horticultural therapy, as well as the professionalism of the therapists. Therefore, if horticultural therapy were to be administered through nursing, it should be based on its key principle, in other words, the principle of action-interaction-response of horticultural therapy. Conclusion: The results of this study will be useful for developing therapeutic interventions through nursing. Also they will be helpful in applying horticultural therapy programs in nursing practice.

  • In accordance with global energy conservation policies such as MEPS(Minimum Energy Performance Standard), electric motor industry is moving to super-high-efficiency machines and research to develop IE4 (International Energy Efficiency Class4) motors has been launched. In this situation, SynRM (Synchronous Reluctance Motor) has been attracting attention in place of induction motor which hardly provides super premium efficiency. As a result, much research on SynRM is being performed at home and abroad. Also, some products have already been appearing in the market. Compared to induction motor, SynRM has better efficiency per unit area and wider operating range. Although the utilization of control system in synchronous motor results in higher prices, we still need to concentrate on developments of SynRM so as to comply with the new policies. This study demonstrated the electromagnetic design methods of super-premium SynRM while maintaining the frame of existing IE3 induction motor for blower. We documented the design procedures for generating high saliency which is the most essential and mechanical stress analysis is also treated. In conclusion, we proved the validity of our design by manufacturing and testing our SynRM models.

Relationship Between the Initiation and Propagation of SCC and the Electrochemical Noise of Alloy 600 for the Steam Generator Tubing of Nuclear Power Plants

  • Since nuclear power plants are being operated under high temperature and high pressure, on-line monitoring technique to detect corrosion could be more effective than off-line method in shut-off period. In this operating condition, electrochemical noise method may be suitable to monitor the corrosion. This paper aims the analysis on the relation between the cracking and electrochemical noise signal of Alloy 600 under U-bending. When electrochemical noise monitoring technique was used during SCC test, it was judge to be obvious that if cracks generate, its generation can be detected by electrochemical current noise. Cracking-related noise was defined as the noise showing 5~10 times greater than the average value of background noise bands. On the base of crack noise, crack initiation time was determined. From SCC test and electrochemical noise monitoring in $25^{\circ}C$, 0.1 M $Na_2S_4O_6$ solution (Reverse U-Bended Alloy 600 SE+), average crack initiation time was obtained as 9,046 seconds and from its initiation time, it could be defined that net crack propagation rate is the crack length divided by ${\Delta}T$(= total test period - crack initiation time). Therefore, average net crack propagation rate was obtained to be $1.18{\times}10^{-9}\;m/s$.

원자로헤드 관통관 결함의 검출 정확성 연구 (A Study I on the Sizing Accuracy of the Characterized Defects of the Reactor Vessel Head Penetrations)

  • The head penetrations for control rod drive mechanism and instrumentation systems are installed at the reactor pressure vessel head of PWRs. Primary coolant water and the operating conditions of PWR plants can cause cracking of these nickel-based alloy through a process called primary water stress corrosion cracking (PWSCC). Inspection of the head penetrations to ensure the integrity of the head penetrations has been interested since reactor coolant leakages were found at U. S. reactors in 2000 and 2001. The complex geometry of the head penetrations and the very low echo amplitude from the fine, multiple flaws due to the nature of the see made it difficult to detect and size the flaws using conventional pulse-echo UT methods. Time-of-flight-diffraction technique, which utilizes the time difference between the flaw tips while pulse-echo does the flaw response amplitude from the flaw, has been selected for this inspection for it's best performance of the detection and sizing of the head penetration see flaws. This study defines the limits of the detectable and accurately sizable minimum flaw size which can be detected by the General TOFD and the Delta TOFD techniques for circumferentially and axially oriented flaws respectively. These results assures the reliability of the inspection techniques to detect and accurately size for various kind of flaws, and will also be utilized for the future development and qualifications of the TOFD techniques to enhance the detecting sensitivity and sizing accuracy of the flaws of the reactor head penetrations in nuclear power plants.

Optimal dimension design of a hatch cover for lightening a bulk carrier

  • According to the increase of the operating cost and material cost of a ship due to the change of international oil price, a demand for the lightening of the ship weight is being made from various parties such as shipping companies, ship owners, and shipyards. To satisfy such demand, many studies for a light ship are being made. As one of them, an optimal design method of an existing hull structure, that is, a method for lightening the ship weight based on the optimization technique was proposed in this study. For this, we selected a hatch cover of a bulk carrier as an optimization target and formulated an optimization problem in order to determine optimal principal dimensions of the hatch cover for lightening the bulk carrier. Some dimensions representing the shape of the hatch cover were selected as design variables and some design considerations related to the maximum stress, maximum deflection, and geometry of the hatch cover were selected as constraints. In addition, the minimization of the weight of the hatch cover was selected as an objective function. To solve this optimization problem, we developed an optimization program based on the Sequential Quadratic Programming (SQP) using C++ programming language. To evaluate the applicability of the developed program, it was applied to a problem for finding optimal principal dimensions of the hatch cover of a deadweight 180,000 ton bulk carrier. The result shows that the developed program can decrease the hatch cover's weight by about 8.5%. Thus, this study will be able to contribute to make energy saving and environment-friendly ship in shipyard.

SCR 기반 양방향성 ESD보호회로의 설계 변수 변화에 따른 전기적 특성의 관한 연구 (A Study on the Electrical Characteristic of SCR-based Dual-Directional ESD Protection Circuit According to Change of Design Parameters)

  • 본 논문에서는 높은 홀딩 전압을 갖는 SCR(silicon-controlled rectifier)기반 양 방향성 ESD 보호회로를 제안하였다. 일반적인 ESD 보호회로와 달리 양방향의 ESD Stress mode의 방전경로를 제공하며 높은 홀딩전압으로 latch-up면역 특성을 갖어 효과적인 ESD보호를 제공한다. 또한, 높은 홀딩전압을 위한 설계변수인 Gate Length와 N+bridge Length의 길이 변화에 따른 시뮬레이션을 Synopsys사의 TCAD 시뮬레이터를 사용하여 확인 하였다. 시뮬레이션 결과 2.1V에서 6.5V까지 홀딩 전압의 증가로 latch-up 면역 특성을 개선 하였으며, 기존 SCR보다 6.5V의 낮은 트리거 전압특성을 갖고 있어 제안된 ESD 보호 회로는 5V 이상의 공급전압을 갖는 application에 적용 가능하다.

LED 광을 이용한 그림자 무아레 방법의 감도 향상 및 모바일 전자 기판의 변형 측정 (Sensitivity Improvement of Shadow Moiré Technique Using LED Light and Deformation Measurement of Electronic Substrate)

  • 모바일 기기로 사용되는 전자기판은 여러 가지 다양한 재료로 구성되어 있으며, 제조시나 사용 환경에서 온도가 변하면 각 재료의 열팽창 계수의 차이로 인하여 변형과 응력집중이 발생하게 된다. 그림자 무아레 방법은 비접촉으로 전체 영역에 걸친 면외변위를 측정하는 광학적 방법이지만 고감도 적용을 위해서는 탈봇 현상의 극복이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 그림자 무아레 기법에서 발생하는 탈봇 현상을 극복하기 위하여 다양한 파장의 LED 광원을 이용하고, 파장의 변화가 탈봇 거리에 미치는 영향에 대해 연구하였다. 위상 이동법을 이용함으로써 10 ㎛/fringe 이내의 측정 감도를 확보할 수 있는 실험방법을 제안하고 이를 평가하였으며, 이 방법을 모바일 회로 기판의 열변형 측정에 적용하였다. 백색광을 사용한 경우에서는 탈봇 현상으로 인하여 측정이 불가능한 영역이 여러 군데 존재하였으나, 파란색 LED 광을 사용한 경우에는 대부분의 영역에서 감도 6.25 ㎛/fringe의 정밀한 무아레 무늬를 얻어낼 수 있음을 확인하였다.

차량탑재형 고소작업대의 재해분석을 통한 취약 구조부의 안전성 향상 방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Safety Improvement of Structural Weakness Using Accident Analysis for Vehicle-Mounted MEWP)

  • The findings were summarized as follows. The safety check by manufacturer showed that 6 of 13 companies are over the average occurrence of defects. It was expected that there would be a difference between manufacturing technology capability and production system of each manufacturer. Consequently, manufacturers should institutionally improve and strengthen certification items for the upward standardization of safety certification before factory. Second, the safety check by year showed that the results of this study accord with those of previous studies on defect time. Consequently, manufacturers should classify the 3-year-old equipment for vehicle-mounted MEWP into a special check subject to do a nondestructive test according to proven results, and also reflect the test in a safety test system to do regular preventive activities of equipment defects. Third, the safety check by part showed that the boom and outrigger parts of vehicle-mounted MEWP have the most defects. Stress concentration resulted in defects as the boom part was most frequently operated in the structural parts for a real work. To prevent this, it is suitable to improve the hardness of boom materials. The outrigger part needs improvement in safety devices with materials. As an outrigger supports the overturning moment of equipment, it is most affected by its load based on the operating radius, resulting in fatigue crack.

원거리 플라즈마 화학증착법으로 증착된 이산화규소박막의 물성 (Properties of $SiO_2$Deposited by Remote Plasma Chemical Vapor Deposition(RPCVD))

  • 원거리 플라즈마 화학증착법을 이용하여 저온에서 이산화규소박막을 제조하였다. 본 연구 에서는 공정변수인 기판의 온도, 반응기체의 조성 및 분압과 플라즈마 전력에 따른 산화막의 재료적인 물성을 평가하였다. XPS결과에서 산화막은 양론비(O/Si=2)보다 약간 적어 실리콘이 많이 함유된 막으로 나타났다. 이 경우 굴절율과 ESR분석에 의해 미결합된 실리콘의 양이 증가함을 알 수 있었다. SIMS분석에 의해 미량의 질소성분이 계면에 존재하는 것과 실리콘 미결함을 관찰하였다. FT-IR로부터 막내 수소량을 정량화하였으며 결합각 분포는 20$0^{\circ}C$이상에서 열산화막과 비슷한 값을 얻었다. 하지만 열산화막에 비해 높은 식각율을 보여 계면 스트레스에 의해 막내의 결합력이 약해진 것으로 생각된다.
