  • This paer presents a feedback-controlled, MEMS-fabricated microaccelerometer($\mu$XL). The $\mu$XL has received much commercial attraction, but its performance is generally limited. To improve the open-loop performance, a feedback controller is designed and experimentally evaluated. The feedback controller is applied to the x/y-axis $\mu$XL fabricated by sacrificial bulk micromachining(SBM) process. Even though the resolution of the closed-loop system is slightly worse than open-loop system, the bandwidth, linearity, and bias stability are stability are significantly improved. The noise equivalent resolution of open-loop system is 0.615 mg and that of closed-loop system is 0.864 mg. The bandwidths of open-loop and closed-loop system are over 100Hz. The input range, non-linearity and bias stability are improved from $\pm10\;g\;to\;\pm18g$, from 11.1%FSO to 0.86%FSO, and from 0.221 mg to 0.128 mg by feedback control, respectively.

변환요소에 따른 LOOPED WIRE의 탄성 변화에 관한 연구 (A STUDY ON THE CHANGES OF THE ELASTIC PROPERTIES TN LOOPED WIRES BY VARIABLE FACTORS)

  • Canine retraction spring과 같은 looped wire에서, 각 변환요소에 따라 변하는 탄성 정도를 알아보기 위하여, wire의 재료, 굵기, loop에 소요된 길이, loop의 모양, gabling의 여부 등 5가지의 변환요소를 설정하여, 각 wire activation시의 탄성을 range, force, stiffness등의 면에서 알아보고자 하였다. wire의 재료적인 면에서 Hi-T (Unitek Co.)와 blue Elgiloy (Rocky Mountain Orthodontics)를 선택하였으며, 굵기로는 .016"$\;\times\;$.022" 와 .018"$\;\times\;$.025"를 선택하였다. loop 자체에 소요된 wire 길이를 15mm와 20mm의 두가지로, loop의 모양을 vertical open loop과 vertical closed loop의 두가지로, gabling의 양을 $0\circ$$30\circ$의 두가지로 하여 각각 제작하였다. 따라서 wire의 재료와 굵기, loop의 길이와 모양, gabling의 5가지 변환요소에 따라 32개군으로 구분되었으며, 각 군의 시료수는 8개씩으로, 총 256개의 시료를 대상으로 하였다. Instron(4202, Instron Co, USA)을 사용하여 각 시료의 하중변형 곡선을 얻었으며 elastic limit에서의 하중과 변형을 계측하고, 그때의 stiffness(force/range)를 산출하여, ANOVA 등의 통계처리로 32개군 간의 상관성을 조사하였다. 그 결과 wire의 재료, 굵기, loop의 길이, 모양, gabling모두가 looped wire의 하중 변형도에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것을 관찰할 수 있었으며, 탄성범위에서의 force는 Hi-T, .016"$\;\times\;$.022", loop 길이 20mm, open loop, non-gable군에서 가장 적었으며, blue Elgiloy, .018"$\;\times\;$.025", loop 길이 15mm, closed loop, non-gable군에서 가장 컸다. 탄성범위에서의 range는 Hi-T, .018"$\;\times\;$.025", loop길이 15mm, open loop, non-gable군이 가장 적었으며, Hi-T, .016"$\;\times\;$.022", loop길이 20mm, closed loop, gable군에서 가장 컸다. 또한 Looped wire의 탄성에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 변환요소는 loop의 모양과 길이였으며, gabling의 영향이 가장 적었다.

운전자 졸음 검출을 위한 눈 개폐 검출 알고리즘 연구 (A Study on an Open/Closed Eye Detection Algorithm for Drowsy Driver Detection)

  • 본 논문에서는 변형된 하우스더프 거리 (MDH: Modified Hausdorff Distance)를 이용한 눈 개폐 감지 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안하는 알고리즘은 얼굴 검출과 눈 개폐 감지로 크게 구분된다. 얼굴 영역의 검출을 위하여 고정 크기의 영역 내에서 픽셀 값을 이용하는 지역 구조특성의 MCT (Modified Census Transform)특징기반 방법을 사용하였다. 이후, 검출된 얼굴 영역 내에서 MHD를 이용하여 눈의 위치 및 개폐를 판단한다. 얼굴 검출의 처리절차는 먼저, 오프라인에서 다양한 얼굴 영상에 대해 MCT 이미지를 생성하고, 이를 기반으로 PCA를 이용하여 기준이 되는 특징벡터들을 추출한다. 다음으로, 온라인에서는 입력되는 실험 영상 내에서 새롭게 추출된 특징벡터들과 기준이 되는 특징 벡터들 간의 유클리드 거리를 이용하여 얼굴 영역을 검출하는 순서로 진행된다. 이후, 검출된 얼굴 영역 내에서 MHD 기반의 눈 영역 검출과 템플릿 매칭을 수행하여 눈의 개폐를 감지한다. 제안하는 방법의 성능 검증을 위하여 그레이 스케일 영상 (30FPS, $320{\times}180$)을 입력으로 실험을 수행한 결과, 눈 계폐 검출율에서 평균 94.04%의 정확도를 달성하였다.

난시성분의 측정 정확도에 관한 임상적 연구 (Clinical Study on Measurement Accuracy of Astigmatic Components)

  • 본 연구는 자각적 굴절검사 값과 비교분석하여 정확도와 신뢰성을 조사하기 위하여 자동굴절검사기기의 난시 구성요소들을 임상적으로 평가하였다. 난시 도수량의 평균은 자각굴절검사, 폐쇄형, 개방형 기기에서 각각 $-0.689{\pm}0.516D$, $-0.691{\pm}0.530D$, -$0.704{\pm}0.507D$로 측정되었으며, 자각검사와의 난시 도수량 차이는 폐쇄형, 개방형 기기 각각에서 $0.002{\pm}0.191D$(p=0.191), $0.015{\pm}0.137D$(p=0.137)이었으며, 난시축은 두 기기 모두 약 85%이상 ${\pm}20$도 이내의 차이를 보였다. $J_0$성분의 평균은 자각식 검사법과 폐쇄형 및 개방형에서 각각 $-0.155{\pm}0.332D$, $-0.004{\pm}0.178D$, $-0.001{\pm}0.156D$로 계산되었다. $J_{45}$ 성분의 평균은 자각식 검사법과 폐쇄형 및 개방형에서 각각 $-0.023{\pm}0.227D$, $-0.026{\pm}0.172D$, $-0.014{\pm}0.182D$로 계산되었다. 두 자동굴절검사기기 모두 난시측정 시 참고할 만한 정확성을 나타내었다.

외부조명 변화에 강인한 운전자 졸음 감지 시스템 (System for Detecting Driver's Drowsiness Robust Variations of External Illumination)

  • In this study, a system is proposed for analyzing whether driver's eyes are open or closed on the basis of images to determine driver's drowsiness. The proposed system converts eye areas detected by a camera to a color space area to effectively detect eyes in a dark situation, for example, tunnels, and a bright situation due to a backlight. In addition, the system used a thickness distribution of a detected eye area as a feature value to analyze whether eyes are open or closed through the Support Vector Machine(SVM), representing 90.09% of accuracy. In the experiment for the images of driver wearing glasses, 83.83% of accuracy was obtained. In addition, in a comparative experiment with the existing PCA method by using Eigen-eye and Pupil Measuring System the detection rate is shown improved. After the experiment, driver's drowsiness was identified accurately by using the method of summing up the state of driver's eyes open and closes over time and the method of detecting driver's eyes that continue to be closed to examine drowsy driving.

  • In order to control hydration heat in mass concrete, pipe cooling method has been widely used. The pipe cooling method leads to the decrease of curing period by lagging materials as well as the decrease of temperature difference between center and surface of mass concrete member, There are two methods in the pipe cooling system, which are open loop system and closed loop system. However open loop pipe cooling system cannot be applied to the mass concrete structures when cooling water supply is difficult. To control hydration heat of high strength mass foundation in the central area of city, closed loop pipe cooling system was developed to solve the cooling water supply. This paper reports the performance results of hydration heat control with closed loop pipe cooling system.

Transonic buffet alleviation on 3D wings: wind tunnel tests and closed-loop control investigations

  • The presented paper gives an overview of several projects addressing the experimental characterization and control of the buffet phenomenon on 3D turbulent wings in transonic flow conditions. This aerodynamic instability induces strong wall pressure fluctuations and therefore limits flight domain. Consequently, to enlarge the latter but also to provide more flexibility during the design phase, it is interesting to try to delay the buffet onset. This paper summarizes the main investigations leading to the achievement of open and closed-loop buffet control and its experimental demonstration. Several wind tunnel tests campaigns, performed on a 3D half wing/fuselage body, enabled to characterize the buffet aerodynamic instability and to study the efficiency of innovative fluidic control devices designed and manufactured by ONERA. The analysis of the open-loop databases demonstrated the effects on the usual buffet characteristics, especially on the shock location and the separation areas on the wing suction side. Using these results, a closed-loop control methodology based on a quasi-steady approach was defined and several architectures were tested for various parameters such as the input signal, the objective function, the tuning of the feedback gain. All closed-loop methods were implemented on a dSPACE device able to estimate in real time the fluidic actuators command calculated mainly from the unsteady pressure sensors data. The efficiency of delaying the buffet onset or limiting its effects was demonstrated using the quasi-steady closed-loop approach and tested in both research and industrial wind tunnel environments.

뒤꿈치 인솔착용과 시각통제 유무가 하이힐 착용 시 균형관련 지수에 미치는 영향 (Influence of Heel Insole and Visual Control on Body Sway Index with High-heeled Shoes)

  • PURPOSE: We investigated the influence of heel insole and visual control on body sway index with high-heeled shoes. METHODS: The subjects of this study were 61 healthy students. None of the participants had any orthopedic or neurologic alterations. C90 area, C90 angle, trace length, sway average velocity were measured using a force plate by BT4. The variables were measured both with insole and without insole when wearing high-heeled shoes under the conditions of eyes open and eyes closed. The collected data were analyzed using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test and paired t-test. RESULTS: When wearing high-heeled shoes with insole under the conditions of eyes open, trace length, C90 area, velocity were significantly more decreased than without insole (p<.01). When wearing high-heeled shoes with insole under the conditions of eyes closed, only C90 area was significantly more decreased than without insole (p<.05). When wearing high-heeled shoes with insole under the conditions of eyes open, trace length, C90 area, velocity were significantly more decreased than under the conditions of eyes closed (p<.01). CONCLUSION: The present study demonstrates that the use of high-heeled shoes with insole supported from heel to midfoot more increased static balance than without insole under the conditions of eyes open.

  • The purpose of this study is to grasp the characteristics of user''''s response to perceived safety and visual preferences for outdoor green spaces by the types of campus layouts. This research was investigated by color slide ratings and questionnaire survey to the students who are majoring in Landscape architecture in three universities locating at Taegu area. Two research sites have similarities in many ways but have differences in campus land form and design type such as ''''Closed'''' and ''''Open'''' types. Major results were summarised as follows ; 1. As a result of the slide test, the high degree of visual preference was shown in the campus that is ''''Closed'''' type. However the degree of perceived safety was lower than that of in Youngnam Univ. campus. 2. According to the result of the comparative analysis between user''''s perceived safety and visual preferences in each campus, the degree of perceived safety at ''''Closed'''' type was lower than that of ''''Open'''' type, but the degree of visual satisfactioni was higher at ''''Closed'''' type. 3. The factors affecting visual preference in campus were shown as density of wood, land form, and diverse type of the spaces. On the other hand, the factors affecting perceived safety were ''''enclosed space by wood'''' at the day time, and ''''the condition of lighting'''' at night. 4. Regarding gender differences in sensation of each space variables, female users showed higher satisfactio on the scenic beauty. 5. Regression analysis showed that general satisfation was determined by the variables such as ''''arrangement'''', familiarity'''', ''''cleanness'''', and ''''closed feeling'''', in Kyungbook Univ. And in Youngnam Univ. , the variables were ''''texture'''', ''''perceived beauty'''', ''''cleanness'''', and ''''complexity'''' respectively. 6. In conclusion, campus users wanted the outdoor spaces that have various land form and somewhat ''''open-closed'''' mixture type, which has a good ''''Edge Effect'''' to satisfy both aspects in safety and visual preferneces.
