  • New analysis methods complement classical approaches in the vehicle NVH development by reducing and accelerating iteration steps to obtain a target sound. Therefore, tools are required that allow an integrative approach of sound engineering and structural analysis and enable a precise simulation and modification based on measured data. The Response Modification Analysis (RMA) is such a hybrid solution, which provides indications of relevant transfer paths taking into account the sensitivity of response channels to modifications of reference channels.

  • In this article, we consider a fourth order nonlinear difference system. By making use of the critical point theory, we obtain some new existence theorems of at least one periodic solution with minimal period. Our main approach used in this article is the variational technique and the Saddle Point Theorem.

  • Using the transmission line model, we have developed a formalism which is fairly accurate and convenient for analyzing the dispersion characteristics of rectangular dielectric waveguides for integrated optics. The fields in open half space regions are expressed as a Fourier integral form. Including all the TE and TM polarized discrete modes in slab waveguide region, our calculation shows that the discrepancies between the previous vectorial wave analysis using one discrete mode and the brute-force numerical analysis for the rectangular dielectric waveguides can be fully reduced with this method.

  • The noncommutative Singer-Wermer conjecture states that every derivation on a Banach algebra (possibly noncommutative) leaves primitive ideals of the algebra invariant. This conjecture is still an open question for more than thirty years. In this note, we approach this question via some sufficient conditions for the separating ideal of ${\phi}$-derivations to be nilpotent. Moreover, we show that the spectral boundedness of ${\phi}$-derivations implies that they leave each primitive ideal of Banach algebras invariant.

  • When the strong wind or long wave energy is transferred into the water body of a harbour, the harbour exhibits oscillatory resonant motions which often cause significant damage to moored ships and navigation hazards. Therefore, a number of theoretical and numerical investigations of such resonant oscillations have been carried out but most of them were limited to harbours connected with open sea of constant depth. • Expert system is an effective approach for quality system to be automated and thus to be an essential integrating mechanism in any move towards CIM(Computer Integrated Manufacturing). A quality control expert system is introduced and its relationship to CIM is illustrated in a case study. Process control expert system developed by Kim and Sin[6] has been improved via ODBC(Open DataBase Connectivity) for efficient information network, graph representation using Windows API for rapid response and some new rules for identification of patterns in control charts.

  • The competitive power extraction problem in a linear n-port network consisting of resistances and independent sources with the same frequency is solved. For solving the problem, the definition of the two-port image impedances is extended to the n-port image impedances. In a competitive power extraction from an n-port network, the load resistances eventually approach the image resistances been found to be between the reciprocal of the short circuit conductance and the open circuit resistance.

  • The bronchopleural fistula is the most common and serious complication of postpneumonectomy empyema. We experienced one case of postpneumonectomy empyema with bronchopleural fistula which treated with Abruzzini operation using residual long bronchial stump. Median sternotomy was used with extension about 3cm incision toward cephalic side. We ligated and divided the innominate vein. We did not open the pericardium with extrapericardial approach. Stapler was used to distal bronchial side and additional interupt sutures were used on proximal side.

  • This paper focuses on a sociologic approach, the theory of planned behavior (Ajzen 1991) and a sociolinguistic field, the language shift (Fishman 1991, Crystal 2000). It describes the theoretical background of language shift and briefly mentions the history of Hungarian language and Romanian language contacts. After presenting language use of the Hungarian minority students and explaining the theory of planned behavior, it turns to apply the theory of planned behavior to the language shift from the view of bilingual speaker(s). This paper wants to propose the application of the theory of planned behavior in language shift and open new perspective in bilingual research.
