The purpose of this study is to check effects on the awareness of parents supporting in their self retirement preparation of the baby boomer generations who have faced relatively bad situation in this era considering the reality of great changes brought in the parents supporting spirit which was regarded as family and individual responsibility due to the rapid industrialization and urbanization. In the result of this study, some points such as religious, living status and monthly average earning show meaningful result and also all of the colligation in the retirement preparation standard concerning economic living life, health life, leisure time, family life, dwelling life and leisure life shows most significance probability of .001(*p<0.05) and retirement preparation standard relative to economic life indicates significance probability of .005(*p<0.05). Eventually this result shows that the higher people have retirement standard, the higher parents supporting sprit they have. So I would like to suggest some policy advices on the basis of this study. First stable supporting policy on their dwelling life should be assisted by differential methods, secondly social programs aid for leisure life through social activities like volunteer work are required, further more national based policy supports for youngsters are considered in order to reduce economic daily life on their economic activities.

The purpose of this work is to explore different types of intergenerational relationships in the later lives of old retirees. This will be done according to the eligibility of public pension and the old age social security system so that the factors affecting intergenerational relationships can be analyzed, and to propose a plan to improve social adaptation in later life. The data used in this work are the Fourth basic survey data of the 2011 Korea Retirement and Income Study. The study subjects of this work were 2,435 retirees over age 65 who had children. In this study, latent class analysis and logistic regression analysis were conducted to classify types of intergenerational relationships and to analyze the influence of relevant factors. As a result of the analysis, some of those in the group were eligible for public pension, and the ones who were not were classified into three types: the closely-living-together type, the separate-living-contact type, and the estrangement type. In the group not eligible for public pension, it was found that age, spouse, number of children, economic factors, and level of health satisfaction gave significant power to intergenerational relationships. In the group eligible for public pension, it was found that age, income and net assets, ADL(Activities of Daily Living), whether there was an IADL(Instrumental Activities of Daily Living) spouse, and number of children affected types of intergenerational relationships; Socio-demographic factors, economic factors, and healthy factors became significant variables according to the classified types of intergenerational relationship. Based on the study results, this work suggested such necessities to lay the foundation for an elderly welfare system for social adaptation in later life, This includes the offering of programs for retirement preparation, the use of family and local society resources, and expansion of the opportunity to participate in social activities.
Background: Placement of full-coverage restorations such as stainless steel crowns (SSCs) for pulpectomy treated primary molars is essential for successful outcomes. The tooth preparation process for SSCs can cause discomfort to gingival tissues since the crown should be seated 1 mm subgingivally. The purpose of this prospective trial was to compare the effectiveness of subgingival and transmucosal application of topical anesthetics on dental pain during SSC tooth preparation among 6- to 8-year-old children. Methods: A consecutive sample of 27 children, aged 6-8 years, who required an SSC after pulp therapy in primary molars were randomly divided into three groups. Group A received infiltration anesthesia before tooth preparation for SSC placement, whereas in Group B and C, only topical anesthesia was applied subgingivally and transmucosally. Wong-Bakers Faces pain rating scale (WBFPS) scores were recorded after tooth preparation. Faces, Legs, Activity, Cry and Consolability (FLACC) scores were evaluated by two blinded and calibrated investigators through video recordings of the patient during tooth preparation. Data were tabulated, and inter-group comparisons were performed using the Kruskal-Wallis and analysis of variance tests. Results: Out of the 27 participants, 48% were boys and 52% were girls, with an overall mean age of 6.83 years. Group A showed the least pain scores according to both the scales, followed by Group B and Group C. The pain intensity was statistically significant on both the pain scales with P = 0.003 for FLACC and P < 0.001 for WBFPS. Conclusion: Subgingival application of topical anesthesia reduced pain to a certain extent but not as effectively as infiltration anesthesia during SSC tooth preparation in primary molars. Transmucosal application of topical anesthesia did not reduce discomfort when compared to the other two interventions.
The aim of this study is to enhance the level of life satisfaction of the elderly as the aging population grows in readiness for increased old age, beginning with interest in improving the quality of life of the elderly. For this purpose, the subtype of preparation for aging was set as multi-independent variables by organizing it into physical preparation for aging, economic preparation for aging, and emotional & social preparation for aging. Structural relationships between variables was identified by social support a parameter variable and life satisfaction a dependent variable. It was also verified that the social support between subtypes of preparation for aging and life satisfaction had a mediating effect. The subjects of this study are 4,058 elderly people who are over the age of 65. They were originally extracted from the 3rd and 5th additional survey of Korean Retirement and Income Study. For data analysis purposes, SPSS 25.0 and SPSS PROCESS macro v2.16 were used. The results of this study are as followed. The emotional & social preparation for aging not only had a significant direct effect on successful aging, but also resulted in indirect effect on successful aging through life satisfaction. On the basis of the results, this study provided the social welfare policy and practical suggestions to enhance the preparation for aging and social support, which are the key to improving life satisfaction of the elderly.
The purpose of this study is to find out impact of level of awareness about old age, knowledge of the elderly and preparing for later life on college students in Korea. The study was composed of 133 students who were studying in 4-year system at colleges. Data were collected from October 1st to November 31st, 2019. Data analysis included an independent t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficients and multiple regression using the SPSS 19.0 program. As a result of this study, factors influencing the subject's preparing for later life included knowledge of the elderly (β = 0.21, p = .012), men (β = 0.28, p = .001), and level of awareness about old age (β = 0.23, p =. 005), and the accounting power of these factors was 18% in total (F=9.14, p<.001). The results of this study suggest that understanding of the elderly must be improved in order to effectively prepare for later life and gender should be taken into account when planning for intervention.
This study examined characteristics and usefulness of middle-aged and older people's vocational training participation. Among sub-age groups categorized by the position in career cycle and the employability, 61~68 year old group(after retirement age group) had the biggest difficulties on the training including computer-based training and showed the lowest employment result compared to other sub age groups; major career(30~45), career transition preparation(46~52), career transition(53~60). However, the career transition age group utilized vocational training in the aspect of career search and the after-retirement age group in the aspect of preparation for older age and hobby. On the other hand, factors such as career adaptability and perceived education difficulties affected on the training usefulness in the aspects of career search and preparation for older age and hobby while perceived career barriers, career relevancy and relationship ability affected on the employment result. Based on these findings, this study suggests that vocational training provide more suited course for the boundaryless career seekers and include relationship enforcement and positive attitude development to overcome perceived career barriers for middle-aged and older people.
