Extraction of Simplified Boundary In Binary Image (이진 영상에서의 단순화된 윤곽선 추출 방법)

  • In this paper, boundary extraction algorithm is suggested by removing boundary noises efficiently and simplifying object shape in binary image. To remove boundary noises, $2{times}2$ mask boundary extraction algorithm is modified . Proposed method is designed to generate a symmetric path for the parasitic branch noise and to analysis traced features on end point of noise. It can extract more simplified object boundary but preserve original object shape by combining white background color extraction result with foreground extraction result. The usefulness of the proposed method was proved through experiments with various binary images.

Distance Estimation Between Vanishing Point and Moving Object (소실점과 움직임 객체간의 거리 추정)

  • In this paper, a new technique to estimate the distances between a vanishing point and moving objects is proposed. A vanishing point for an input image is estimated and it use to extract distance form the vanishing point to a moving object. Using the obtained distances, moving objects is extracted. In simulation results, several performances for a test image sequnce is shown.

  • Stereo matching technique is used in many practical fields like satellite image analysis and computer vision. In this paper, we suggest a method to extract a target object image from a complicated background. For example, human face image can be extracted from random background. This method can be applied to computer vision such as security system, dressing simulation by use of extracted human face, 3D modeling, and security system. Many researches about stereo matching have been performed. Conventional approaches can be categorized into area-based and feature-based method. In this paper, we start from area-based method and apply area tracking using scanning window. Coarse depth information is used for area merging process using area searching data. Finally, we produce a target object image.

  • Noncontact measuring methodology of 3-dimensional profile using CCD camera are very attractive because of it's high measuring speed and its's high sensitivity. Especially when projecting a grid pattern over the object, the captured image have 3 dimensional information of the object. Projection moire extract 3-D information with another grid pattern in front of CCD camera. However phase measuring profilometry(PMP) obtain similar results without additional grid pattern. In this paper, the projection moire are compared with the PMP mathematically, and it is shown that PMP can generate moire image with simple mathematical computations. Experimental works are also carried out showing the same results. It is shown that using a single gird pattern, moire image can be obtained directly without any mathematical operation when some conditions are satisfied.

  • This paper presents an image processing method to recognize object's position from images for robot control applications. The Sobel Mask and the Dialated Gradient Mask algorithms are used to extract and refine the edge of the object. The inside of the extracted edge is filled with '1's for calculation of the center of mass to identify object's position. We propose a heuristic method which averages the positions of the objects in 10 frames to reject noises, and discuss the application of the proposed method to robot control.

Animal Tracking in Infrared Video based on Adaptive GMOF and Kalman Filter

  • The major problems of recent object tracking methods are related to the inefficient detection of moving objects due to occlusions, noisy background and inconsistent body motion. This paper presents a robust method for the detection and tracking of a moving in infrared animal videos. The tracking system is based on adaptive optical flow generation, Gaussian mixture and Kalman filtering. The adaptive Gaussian model of optical flow (GMOF) is used to extract foreground and noises are removed based on the object motion. Kalman filter enables the prediction of the object position in the presence of partial occlusions, and changes the size of the animal detected automatically along the image sequence. The presented method is evaluated in various environments of unstable background because of winds, and illuminations changes. The results show that our approach is more robust to background noises and performs better than previous methods.

  • With speediness of economy, the structure of land use has taken lots of change. How can we quickly and exactly obtain detailed land use/cover change information, and then we know land resource amount, quality, distributing and change direction. More and more high resolution satellite systems are under development. So we can make good use of RS data, existed GIS data and GPS data to extract change information and update map. In this paper a fully automated approach for detecting land use/cover change using remote sensing data with object-oriented classification based on GIS data, GPS data is presented (referring to Fig.1). At same time, I realize integrating raster with vector methods of updating the basic land use/land cover map based on 3S technology and this is becoming one of the most important developing direction in 3S application fields; land-use and cover change fields over the world. It has been successful applied in two tasks of The Ministry of Land and Resources P.R.C and taken some of benefit.

  • In this paper, we propose an object tracking system which extracts moving areas+ shaped on objects in video sequences and decides tracks of moving objects. Color invariances are exploited to extract the plausible object blocks and the degree of radial homogeneity is utilized as local block feature to find out the block correspondences.

  • Three dimensional shape measurement techniques are widely needed in industries for product quality monitoring and control. X-ray imaging method is a promising technology to achieve three-dimensional Information, both the surface and inner structure of an object, since it can overcome the limitations of conventional visual or optical methods such as an occlusion problem or surface reflection properties. In this paper, we propose three dimensional volume reconstruction method based on x-ray stereo imaging technology. Here, the stereo images of an object from two different views are taken by changing the object pose rather than moving imaging plane as in conventional stereo vision method. Simple Denoising Method for Novel Speckle-shifting Ghost Imaging with Connected-region Labeling

  • A novel speckle-shifting ghost imaging (SSGI) technique is proposed in this paper. This method can effectively extract the edge of an unknown object without achieving its clear ghost image beforehand. However, owing to the imaging mechanism of SSGI, the imaging result generally contains serious noise. To solve the problem, we further propose a simple and effective method to remove noise from the speckle-shifting ghost image with a connected-region labeling (CRL) algorithm. In this method, two ghost images of an object are first generated according to SSGI. A threshold and the CRL are then used to remove noise from the imaging results in turn. This method can retrieve a high-quality image of an object with fewer measurements. Numerical simulations are carried out to verify the feasibility and effectiveness.
