The discovery of light emission in nanostructured silicon has opened up new avenues of research in nano-silicon based devices. One such pathway is the application of silicon quantum dots in advanced photovoltaic and light emitting devices. Recently, there is increasing interest on the silicon quantum dots (c-Si QDs) films embedded in amorphous hydrogenated silicon-nitride dielectric matrix (a-SiNx: H), which are familiar as c-Si/a-SiNx:H QDs thin films. However, due to the limitation of the requirement of a very high deposition temperature along with post annealing and a low growth rate, extensive research are being undertaken to elevate these issues, for the point of view of applications, using plasma assisted deposition methods by using different plasma concepts. This work addresses about rapid growth and single step development of c-Si/a-SiNx:H QDs thin films deposited by RF (13.56 MHz) and ultra-high frequency (UHF ~ 320 MHz) low-pressure plasma processing of a mixture of silane (SiH4) and ammonia (NH3) gases diluted in hydrogen (H2) at a low growth temperature ($230^{\circ}C$). In the films the c-Si QDs of varying size, with an overall crystallinity of 60-80 %, are embedded in an a-SiNx: H matrix. The important result includes the formation of the tunable QD size of ~ 5-20 nm, having a thermodynamically favorable <220> crystallographic orientation, along with distinct signatures of the growth of ${\alpha}$-Si3N4 and ${\beta}$-Si3N4 components. Also, the roles of different plasma characteristics on the film properties are investigated using various plasma diagnostics and film analysis tools.
Objectives : This study was to observe anticancer and related immunomodulatory effects of Kwibi-tang extracts (KBTe) on non-small cell lung carcinoma (squamous epithelial carcinoma), NCI-H520, xenograft Balb/c nu-nu nude mice. Methods : Three different dosages of KBTe, 50, 100 and 200 mg/kg were orally administered once a day for 42 days from 11 days after tumor cell inoculation. Six groups, each of 8 mice per group were used in the present study. Changes in body weight, tumor volume and weight, lymphatic organs (spleen and popliteal lymph node), serum interferon (IFN)-${\gamma}$ levels, splenocytes NK cell activity and peritoneal macrophage activities, splenic tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-${\alpha}$, interleukin (IL)-$1{\beta}$ and IL-10 contents were observed with tumor mass and lymphatic organ histopathology to detect anticancer and immunomodulatory effects. The results were compared with a potent cytotoxic anticancer agent, 5-FU (5-Fluorouracil) 30 mg/kg, intraperitoneal treatment (3-day intervals for 42 days, the optimal effective treatment regimes already confirmed). Results & Conclusions : This study suggest that over 50 mg/kg of KBTe showed favorable anticancer effects on the NCI-H520 cell xenograft with immunomodulatory effects. Although relatively lower anticancer effects were observed in KBTe 200 mg/kg treated mice as compared with 5-FU 30 mg/kg treated mice, no meaningful favorable immunomodulatory effects were observed after 5-FU treatment in the present study.

The critical condition for onset of Benard convection with variable viscosity .nu.=.nu.$_{0}$exp(-CT) has been obtained using a linear stability theory. The bottom wall is rigid while the upper surface may be either free or rigid. The two boundaries are subject to convective heat transfer. The critical Rayleigh numbers are presented up to maximum viscosity ratio of 3000. It is greater for smaller upper and/or lower surface Biot numbers. Its dependence on the viscosity ratio is complicated. However, a simple sublayer theory is found to be applicable for extremely large viscosity ratio. In such cases, the critical Rayleigh number and the critical wave number are functions of viscosity ratio and lower surface Biot number.r.
A multi-valued logic(MVL) pass gate is an important element to configure multi-valued logic. In this paper, we designed the Quaternary MIN(QMIN)/negated MIN(QNMIN) gate, the Quaternary MAX(QMAX)/negated MAX(QNMAX) gate using double pass-transistor logic(DPL) with neuron $MOS({\nu}MOS)$ threshold gate. DPL is improved the gate speed without increasing the input capacitance. It has a symmetrical arrangement and double-transmission characteristics. The threshold gates composed by ${\nu}MOS$ down literal circuit(DLC). The proposed gates get the valued to realize various multi threshold voltages. In this paper, these circuits are used 3V power supply voltage and parameter of 0.35um N-Well 2-poly 4-metal CMOS technology, and also represented HSPICE simulation results.

Rock is a very complex and heterogeneous material, containing structural flaws due to geologic generation process. Because of those structural flaws, deformation and failure of rock when subjected to differential compressive stresses is non-linear. To simulate the non-linear behavior of rock, mechanical crack models, that is, sliding and shear crack models have been used in several studies. In those studies, non-linear stress-strain curves and various behaviors of rock including the changes of effective elastic moduli ($E_1$, $E_2$, ${\nu}_1$, ${\nu}_2$, $G_2$) due to crack growth were simulated (Kemeny, 1993; Jeon, 1996, 1998). Most of the studies have mainly focused on the verification of the mechanical crack model with relatively less attempt to apply it to practical purposes such as numerical analysis for underground and/or slope design. In this study, the validity of mechanical crack model was checked out by simulating the non-linear behavior of rock and consequently it was applied to a practical numerical analysis, finite element analysis commonly used.
It has been demonstrated in plane strain compression tests performed on dense Toyoura sand and Silver Leighton Buzzard sand, that the newly developed instrumentation for small strain measurements was capable of measuring the altering stiffness of sands for a wide range of shear strain from ($10^{-6}$to $10^{-2}$. It was found that for the range of shear strain($\gamma$) from $10^{-5}$ to those at peak, the Rowe's stressiilatancy relation seemed to be a good approximation for Toyoura sand and Silver Leighton Buzzard sand. However, the value of K and Poisson's ratio(at elastic range:${\nu}_{psc}^e$) varied with sand types. It was also found that the value of ${\nu}_{psc}^e$ and stress -dilatancy relation was irrespective of overconsolidation ratio(OCR).
Let ${\mu}$ be a finite positive Borel measure on the unit ball $B{\subset}{\mathbb{C}}^n$ and ${\nu}$ be the Euclidean volume measure such that ${\nu}(B)=1$. For the unit sphere $S=\{z:{\mid}z{\mid}=1\}$, ${\sigma}$ is the rotation-invariant measure on S such that ${\sigma}(S) =1$. Let ${\mathcal{P}}[f]$ be the Poisson-$Szeg{\ddot{o}}$ integral of f and $\tilde{\mu}$ be the Berezin transform of ${\mu}$. In this paper, we show that if there is a constant M > 0 such that ${\int_B}{\mid}{\mathcal{P}}[f](z){\mid}^pd{\mu}(z){\leq}M{\int_B}{\mid}{\mathcal{P}}[f](z){\mid}^pd{\nu}(z)$ for all $f{\in}L^p(\sigma)$, then ${\parallel}{\tilde{\mu}}{\parallel}_{\infty}{\equiv}{\sup}_{z{\in}B}{\mid}{\tilde{\mu}}(z){\mid}<{\infty}$, and we show that if ${\parallel}{\tilde{\mu}{\parallel}_{\infty}<{\infty}$, then ${\int_B}{\mid}{\mathcal{P}}[f](z){\mid}^pd{\mu}(z){\leq}C{\mid}{\mid}{\tilde{\mu}}{\mid}{\mid}_{\infty}{\int_S}{\mid}f(\zeta){\mid}^pd{\sigma}(\zeta)$ for some constant C.

Vortex Generators are used in heat exchanger to enhance the heat transfer of air side. 3-D numerical analysis is performed on heat transfer characteristics of a channel with trapezoidal vortex generator. We investigate the effects of vortex generators with two different inclined angles to flow direction which are forward and backward vortex generators. The thermal hydraulic performance such as Nu and pressure drop, is compared quantitatively. The results show that vortex generator enhances the heat transfer by developing boundary layers and secondary flow in the downstream. The downwash flow region corresponds to the maximum Nu, while the upwash flow region corresponds to Nu minimum. In the view of the heat transfer characteristics, FVG is better than BVG. However, when flow is turbulent as Re increases, the pressure drop for FVG is higher than that for BVG.
Objectives : Somatic symptom disorder (SSD) is characterized by the manifestation of a variety of physical symptoms, but little is known about differences in autonomic nervous system activity according to symptom severity, especially within patient groups. In this study, we examined differences in heart rate variability (HRV) across symptom severity in a group of SSD patients to analyze a representative marker of autonomic nervous system changes by symptoms severity. Methods : Medical records were retrospectively reviewed for patients who were diagnosed with SSD based on DSM-5 from September 18, 2020 to October 29, 2021. We applied inverse probability of treatment weighting (IPTW) methods to generate more homogeneous comparisons in HRV parameters by correcting for selection biases due to sociodemographic and clinical characteristic differences between groups. Results : There were statistically significant correlations between the somatic symptom severity and LF (nu), HF (nu), LF/HF, as well as SD1/SD2 and Alpha1/Alpha2. After IPTW estimation, the mild to moderate group was corrected to 27 (53.0%) and the severe group to 24 (47.0%), and homogeneity was achieved as the differences in demographic and clinical characteristics were not significant. The analysis of inverse probability weighted regression adjustment model showed that the severe group was associated with significantly lower RMSSD (β=-0.70, p=0.003) and pNN20 (β=-1.04, p=0.019) in the time domain and higher LF (nu) (β=0.29, p<0.001), lower HF (nu) (β=-0.29, p<0.001), higher LF/HF (β=1.41, p=0.001), and in the nonlinear domain, significant differences were tested for SampEn15 (β=-0.35, p=0.014), SD1/SD2 (β=-0.68, p<0.001), and Alpha1/Alpha2 (ß=0.43, p=0.001). Conclusions : These results suggest that differences in HRV parameters by SSD severity were showed in the time, frequency and nonlinear domains, specific parameters demonstrating significantly higher sympathetic nerve activity and reduced ability of the parasympathetic nervous system in SSD patients with severe symptoms.

Existing theoretical calculations predict that infrared spectra of the two most fundamental reactive carbo-ions, methyl cation $CH{_3}^+$ with $D_{3h}$ symmetry and protonated methyl cation $CH{_5}^+$ with $C_s(I)$, $C_s(II)$, and $C_{2v}$ symmetries, appear together in the 7-${\mu}m$ region corresponding to the C-H bending modes. Vibrational band profiles of $CH{_3}^+$ and $CH{_5}^+$ have been compared by ab initio calculation methods that use the basis sets of MP2/aug-cc-pVTZ and CCSD(T)/cc-pVTZ. Our results indicate that the bands of rotation-vibration transitions of $CH{_3}^+$ and $CH{_5}^+$ should overlap not only in the 3-${\mu}m$ region corresponding to the C-H stretching modes but also in the 7-${\mu}m$ region corresponding to the C-H bending modes. Five band intensities of $CH{_5}^+$ among fifteen vibrational transitions between 6 and 8 ${\mu}m$ region are stronger than those of the ${\nu}_2$ and ${\nu}_4$ bands in $CH{_3}^+$. Ultimate near degeneracy of the two bending vibrations ${\nu}_2$ and ${\nu}_4$ of $CH{_3}^+$along with the stronger intensities of $CH{_5}^+$ in the three hydrogen scrambling structures may cause extreme complications in the analysis of the high-resolution carbo-ion spectra in the 7-${\mu}m$ region.
