In this paper we present a theoretical framework for the network design with delay QoS guarantee to a voice at the packet level. Especially, we propose a method for estimating the bandwidth at the ingress edge routers accommodating the voice connections and data sessions in the next-generation If network. First, we describe network architecture for VoIP (Voice over IP) services in the NGN (Next Generation Network). After that, we propose a procedure for dimensioning the bandwidth at the output port of a router that accommodates voice and data traffic using the non-preemptive queuing system with strict priority service scheme. Via numerical experiments we illustrate the implication of the proposition.

In this paper we propose a method of evaluating the performance of a Softswitch that provides call control to voice services in NGN (next generation network). First, we describe the architecture for voice services in NGN and anatomize the call control processes such as call initiation, call re-initiation and call release of a voice connection. kiter that we propose a method of estimating appropriate server capacity of the Softswitch using approximate queuing model. BcN (Broadband Convergence Network) / NGN (Next Generation Network)은 통신 방송 인터넷이 융합된 품질 보장형 광대역 서비스를 언제 어디서나 안전하게 즐길 수 있게 하는 차세대통신망이다. 이중 세션제어 기술은 VoIP, 영상전화와 같이 연속적으로 이어지는 세션 형태의 서비스를 제어해주는 기술로서 H.323, Megaco, SIP등을 기본프로토콜로 사용하던 기존의 VoIP망 기술에서 현재는 3GPP ($3^{rd}$ generation partnership project)에서 표준화 된 IMS (IP multimedia subsystem) 를 기반기술로 채택하여 다양한 세션기반 응용서비스를 개발하고 있다. 본 고에서는 BcN/NGN에서의 세션제어 기술인 IMS의 등장 배경과 요소 기술, 동작 절차를 살펴본다.

Considerations for green house gas (GHG) monitoring over next generation network (NGN) are regarded as a green convergence service for the successful reduction of GHG emission leading to resolve global warming issue in that NGN is expected to provide secure connections to fixed-and-mobile converged (FMC) features. Model-based scenario approach is an appropriate way to standardize and actualize the desired service. This paper first describes the service scenario of GHG monitoring service over NGN.

전화 서비스를 교환 기능에서 분리하여 생성, 수행, 관리하는 개념으로 서비스를 전달계층으로부터 분리하여 제어계층에 두어 다양하고 유연한 서비스를 제공 가능하게 함으로써 망의 지능을 실현하게 하는 것을 지능망과 급속도로 팽창하고 있는 인터넷 망과의 연동은 차세대 ALL-IP망으로 가기 위해 과도기적으로 필요한 과정이다. 이 논문에선 SIP 기반으로 NGN에서의 지능망 서 비스 구조를 제안한다.

In order to test and evaluate the various functions and services of NGN would be promised, a specified methodology is needed and a development for the identification of testing object, configuration and test traffic are required. Simulation and analytical modeling methodshave used for IP performance testing, but further study issue still remains. This paper proposes new evaluation methodology to achieve an objective approach rather than a subjective and isolated, based on the real-field environment, for NGN network. For this purpose, background traffic pattern to interfere test traffic was specified and it was tested in actual NGN testbed with systems having NGN technology, such as per bandwidth and packet size. The results shows the suggested methodology is appropriate, comparing with parameters which are Delay, Jitter and Loss the current approach for the end-to-end performance evaluation on NGN.

This paper introduces the security standardization trend and related technology in ITU-T SG 13 Q.15. Q.15 deals with the security requirements and guidelines over NGN(Next Generation Network) release 1. Korea proposes draft recommendation on 'AAA(Authentication, Authorization and Accounting) Service for network access control over NGN' and the procedure of the user authentication for the NGN convergence service terminals.

현재 다양한 상용망에서 끊김 없이 동일 서비스를 이용하고자 하는 사용자의 요구를 충족시키기 위해서 상용망을 IP 프로토콜로 융합하는 차세대 인터넷, 즉 NGN (Next Generation Network) 망이 도입되었다. 이와 같이 연결망의 대역폭이 확장되면서 다양한 멀티미디어 서비스에 대한 요구가 늘어나게 되고 나아가 실시간 TV 스트리밍 서비스에 대한 요구가 극대화되었다. 본 논문에서는 NGN과 IPTV의 서비스 정의 및 요구 사항을 분석하여 NGN의 응용 서비스로서 사용되기 위한 IPTV 서비스의 필요 요건이 무엇인지를 도출하였다. 나아가 NGN의 이동성 및 다양성 등의 특성에 따른 전송 경로의 다양화, 손실 차별화, 서비스 끊김 등의 문제점을 도출하고 이를 해결하기 위해 고려해야 하는 연구 이슈 및 방향 등에 대해 기술한다.

본 논문에서는 인터넷과 데이터 통신의 급격한 증가에 의해 다양화하는 패킷망과 기존의 공중전화망, 가입자망 등을 단일망으로 통합하여 관리할 수 있는 소프트스위치 시스템을 표준 컴퓨팅 플랫폼으로 개발하는 방안을 제시하였다. 본 논문에서 제시하는 소형 소프트스위치는 기본적인 라우팅, 서비스제어, 호 제어, 미디어 제어가 가능하도록 설계하였으며 사용자가 원하는 기능을 스스로 선택할 수 있는 프로그래머블 콜 프로세싱이 가능하도록 구현하였다.

지난 8월 SG13회의 결과에 따라 FGNGN 종료후 FGNGN에서 작업한 문서들을 성공적으로 마무리하고 NGN 표준화를 효율적으로 수행하 기 위해 SG11, SG13, SG19 및 기타 관련 SG들의 관련 그룹간 합동으로 회의를 개최키로 하고 이를 NGN-GSI로 부르기로 하였다. 그 결과 에 따라 1차 NGN GSI 회의가 지난 1월 16일부터 27일까지 스위스 제네바에서 개최되었으며, 본 고는 NGN-GSI의 주요 회의결과를 국내 대 표단 활동 내용 위주로 간단히 요약 정리한 것이다.
