The aim of this study was to evaluate the change of bone mineral density according to distal radius rotation and the correlations of the lowest BMD measured by DXA at the lumba versus distal radius. The eleven males were projected distal radius by DR X-ray and the measurement of BMD by DXA of the appropriate position of the forearm were performed on 21 males. The healthy 11 and 21 volunteers without any history of operations, anomalies, or trauma were enrolled. The experiment was performed by two methods. First, The DR X-ray was measured distal radius of 11 males in pronation and supination with three, six and nine degrees, including a neutral position. The ROI was measured by the m-view program on the PACS monitor. Second, The DXA was measured distal radius of 21 males in pronation and supination with five and ten degrees, including a neutral position to evaluate the changes of BMD according to the rotation. A correlation of the BMD in the distal radius with BMD that lumbar spine was performed, along with analysis of the data by SPSS 12.0v. The mean rotation angle of the distal radius about eleven males DR X-ray measured $7^{\circ}$ of pronation (82%, n = 9), $6^{\circ}$ of supination and $0^{\circ}$ of neutral of (9%, n = 1), The total average rotation angle in 11 male was $5.1^{\circ}$ of pronation. The rotation angle of the distal radius about twenty one males on DXA measured $7.2^{\circ}$ of pronation (43%, n = 9), $7^{\circ}$ of supination (24%, n = 5), and $0^{\circ}$ of neutral (33%, n = 7), The total average rotation angle in 21 people was $4.1^{\circ}$ of pronation. The correlation of the analysis of lumba and distal radius were r = 3.0, p = 0.18. consequently, The correlation was not significance. Because BMD of lumba was not coverd for BMD of the distal radius, with a neutral position, Pronation is needed for BMD in the distal radius with the rotation angle measuring at the lowest BMD. the rotation angle about five degrees of pronation of the distal radius is recommended.
Curved glued laminated timber (glulam) is rapidly coming into the domestic modern timber frame buildings and predominant in building construction. The radial stress is frequently occurred in curved beams and is a critical design parameter in curved glulam. Three models, Wilson equation, Exact solution and Approximation equation were introduced to determine the radial stress of curved glulam under pure bending condition. It is obvious that radial stress distribution between small radius and large radius was different due to slight change of neutral plane location to center line. If the beam design with extremely small radius, it should be considered to determine the exact location of maximum radial stress. The current standard KSF 3021 was reviewed and would be considered some adjustment determining the optimum radius in curved glulam. Current design principle is that the stress factor is given by the curvature term only in constant depth of the beam, but like tapered or small radius of beams, the stress factor by Wilson equation was underestimated. So current design formula should be considered to improvement for characterizing the radial stress factor under pure bending condition.
Springback for the three point bending is anlayzed and experimented. Neutral axis is assumed to remain at the midthickness for large ratio of radius of curvature to thickness. Pure bending theory is used to be extended to the analysis of the springback for three point bending. The specimen is thought to be divided into numerous small elements. The theory for pure bending is then adopted for analysis of each element to obtain springback in terms of the relationship between initial and final deflections. the boundary conditions between neighborhood elements are the deflection and slope which should be the same. Deflection is calculated by summing up the deflections of each element. Experiments have been performed for different conditions which are punch radius, span length, and initial deflections. Comparisons between the analytical solution and experimental results show the same trends.
Purpose : The aim of this study was to evaluate the difference of bone mineral density according to distal radius rotation and to develop the supporting tool to measure rotation angles. Materials and Methods : CT scanning and the measurement of BMD by DXA of the appropriate position of the forearm were performed on 20 males. Twenty healthy volunteers without any history of operations, anomalies, or trauma were enrolled. The CT scan was used to evaluate the cross sectional structure and the rotation angle on the horizontal plane of the distal radius. The rotational angle was measured by the m-view program on the PACS monitor. The DXA was used in 20 dried radii of cadaveric specimens in pronation and supination with five and ten degrees, respectively, including a neutral position (zero degrees) to evaluate the changes of BMD according to the rotation. Results : The mean rotation angle of the distal radius on CT was 7.4 degrees of supination in 16 cases (80%), 3.3 degrees of pronation in three cases (15%), and zero degree of neutral in one case (9%), respectively. The total average rotation angle in 20 people was 5.4 degrees of supination. In the cadaveric study, the BMD of the distal radius was different according to the rotational angles. The lowest BMD was obtained at 3.3 degrees of supination. Conclusion : In the case of the measurement of BMD in the distal radius with a neutral position, the rotational angle of the distal radius is close to supination. Pronation is needed for the constant measurement of BMD in the distal radius with the rotation angle measuring at the lowest BMD and about five degrees of pronation of the distal radius is recommended.
The bending process of a press die is to bend a flat blank to the required angle. There are V-bending, U-bending, Z-bending, O-bending etc. for bending processing, and the basic principle of calculating the unfolding length of die processing is used as the neutral plane length. Since the constant of the length value of the neutral surface is different depending on the type of bending, it is impossible to accurately calculate it. In particular, Z-bending processing is performed twice, and it is set on the upper and lower surfaces of the blank, and bending processing occurs at the same time as the upward and downward bending, and the elongation of the material occurs and the material increases. It is not possible to check with the calculated value, and it occurs in many cases where the mold is modified after start-up. This study aims to minimize die modification by developing a formula to calculate the development length of Z-bend.

Traction power is supplied by three-phase alternating current of 154 kV power grid and electric trains are operated on single phase feeding system. It becomes important to use all the three phases equally and convert them into two-phase electric power (90 degree phase rotation) for traction supply. This is achieved by special transformer from the adjacent traction substation which is separated by a neutral section. Neutral section locations are in front of the substation and between the two substations. The first stage of the Seoul-Busan high-speed railway, design curve radius is larger than 7,000 m and the greatest slope is 25. The railway track conditions are evaluated as good enough to install a neutral section at the first stage, but a few factors of coasting operation of the train should be considered at the second stage of Seoul-Busan high-speed railway. The neutral section was located at Kim-cheon substation, which made some neutral section problems produced by the operating train, and the neutral section was moved about 1.5 km to the south toward Dong Dae-gu station due to the track operation condition. Some of the trains which stopped at the existing Kim-cheon Gu-mi station produced another motor block failure after moving the neutral section. In this paper, power quality, system performance and track condition, etc. are suggested to solve the problems.
The drawbead restraining forces for the various radius of drawbead and die corner are analyzed by the belt theory, and they are compared with the experimental results. During this procedure, the drawing angles are also varied from $0^{\circ}$ to $60^{\circ}$, and the near part of the drawed die corner are divided into fur steps for the theoretical analysis. The stress distributions through the sheet thickness for these steps are also suggested theoretically. The wide range of experimental data of the drawing forces and strain distributions for the various dimension and blank holding forces are presented. It is concluded that the theoretical assumption for the restraining force analysis is very useful from the comparison with the experimental results.
The hydrodynamic instability of the three-dimensional boundary-layer over a rotating disk has been numerically investigated for three cases flows using linear stability theory (i.e. Rossby number, Ro = -1, 0, and 1). Detailed numerical values of the disturbance wave number, wave frequency, azimuth angle, radius (Reynolds number, Re) and other characteristics have been calculated for $K{\acute{a}}rm{\acute{a}}n$, Ekman and $B{\"{o}}ewadt$ boundary-layer flows. Neutral curves for these flows are presented. Presented are the neutral stability results concerning the two instability modes (Type I and Type II) by using a two-point boundary value problem code COLUEW that was based upon the adaptive orthogonal collocation method using B-spline. The prediction from the present results on both instability modes among the three cases agrees with the previously known numerical and experimental data well.

Forging of trapezoidal spline, serration and square spline with solid cylindrical billets and hollow one has been investigated by means of upper bound method. Kinematically admissible velocity fields for forging of splines have been proposed in this study. The half pitch of spline has been divided into several deformation regions. The neutral surface is introduced into forging of splines with flat punch and, for each step, it is assumed as a circle with its radius $r_n$. Upper bound solutions obtained by proposed kinematically admissible velocity fields are useful to predict the loads for forging of splines.
