지능형 과적단속을 위한 시스템 구축 연구 (A Study for Smart Overload Vehicle Regulation System)

  • 과적차량은 도로관련 사회간접자본과 국가 경제적 측면, 교통류, 도로안전 등 다양한 측면에서 악영향을 미치고 있다. 이에 따라, 본 논문에서는 지능형 과적차량 단속시스템 개발을 위하여 유비쿼터스 센서네트워크(USN) 시스템을 구성하였다. 그리고 WIM(Weight-in-motion) 시스템과 달리 도로자체의 변형을 측정하여 주행중인 차량의 축을 감지한 후, 도로 하면에 부착된 변형률센서를 통하여 얻은 신호와 해석방법을 이용하여 차량의 중량을 계산하는 방안을 제시하였다. 또한 유전자알고리즘 기법의 차량하중 분석방법을 위한 시뮬레이션 실험을 실시하였고, USN구성을 위한 센서의 무선화 테스트를 실시하였다.

Protection Switching Methods for Point-to-Multipoint Connections in Packet Transport Networks

  • In this paper, we discuss the issues of providing protection for point-to-multipoint connections in both Ethernet and MPLS-TP-based packet transport networks. We introduce two types of per-leaf protection-linear and ring. Neither of the two types requires that modifications to existing standards be made. Their performances can be improved by a collective signal fail mechanism proposed in this paper. In addition, two schemes - tree protection and hybrid protection - are newly proposed to reduce the service recovery time when a single failure leads to multiple signal fail events, which in turn places a significant amount of processing burden upon a root node. The behavior of the tree protection protocol is designed with minimal modifications to existing standards. The hybrid protection scheme is devised to maximize the benefits of per-leaf protection and tree protection. To observe how well each scheme achieves an efficient traffic recovery, we evaluate their performances using a test bed as well as computer simulation based on the formulae found in this paper.

Multiple Path Based Vehicle Routing in Dynamic and Stochastic Transportation Networks

  • In route guidance systems fastest-path routing has typically been adopted because of its simplicity. However, empirical studies on route choice behavior have shown that drivers use numerous criteria in choosing a route. The objective of this study is to develop computationally efficient algorithms for identifying a manageable subset of the nondominated (i.e. Pareto optimal) paths for real-time vehicle routing which reflect the drivers' preferences and route choice behaviors. We propose two pruning algorithms that reduce the search area based on a context-dependent linear utility function and thus reduce the computation time. The basic notion of the proposed approach is that ⅰ) enumerating all nondominated paths is computationally too expensive, ⅱ) obtaining a stable mathematical representation of the drivers' utility function is theoretically difficult and impractical, and ⅲ) obtaining optimal path given a nonlinear utility function is a NP-hard problem. Consequently, a heuristic two-stage strategy which identifies multiple routes and then select the near-optimal path may be effective and practical. As the first stage, we utilize the relaxation based pruning technique based on an entropy model to recognize and discard most of the nondominated paths that do not reflect the drivers' preference and/or the context-dependency of the preference. In addition, to make sure that paths identified are dissimilar in terms of links used, the number of shared links between routes is limited. We test the proposed algorithms in a large real-life traffic network and show that the algorithms reduce CPU time significantly compared with conventional multi-criteria shortest path algorithms while the attributes of the routes identified reflect drivers' preferences and generic route choice behaviors well.

  • In the presence of multiple continuous queries, multi-query optimizing is a new challenge to process multiple stream data in real-time. So, in this paper, we proposed an approach to optimize multi-query of sliding window on network traffic data streams and do some comparisons to traditional queries without optimizing. We also detail some method of scheduling on different data streams, while different scheduling made different results. We test the results on variety of multi-query processing schedule, and proofed the proposed method is effectively optimized the data stream similar multi-queries.

An Evaluation of Multimedia Data Downstream with PDA in an Infrastructure Network

  • A PDA is used mainly for downloading data from a stationary server such as a desktop PC in an infrastructure network based on wireless LAN. Thus, the overall performance depends heavily on the performance of such downloading with PDA. Unfortunately, for a PDA the time taken to receive data from a PC is longer than the time taken to send it by 53%. Thus, we measured and analyzed all possible factors that could cause the receiving time of a PDA to be delayed with a test bed system. There are crucial factors: the TCP window size, file access time of a PDA, and the inter-packet delay that affects the receiving time of a PDA. The window size of a PDA during the downstream is reduced dramatically to 686 bytes from 32,581 bytes. In addition, because flash memory is embedded into a PDA, writing data into the flash memory takes twice as long as reading the data from it. To alleviate these, we propose three distinct remedies: First, in order to keep the window size at a sender constant, both the size of a socket send buffer for a desktop PC and the size of a socket receive buffer for a PDA should be increased. Second, to shorten its internal file access time, the size of an application buffer implemented in an application should be doubled. Finally, the inter-packet delay of a PDA and a desktop PC at the application layer should be adjusted asymmetrically to lower the traffic bottleneck between these heterogeneous terminals.

NIO를 이용한 범용 웹 캐시 구현 (General Web Cache Implementation Using NIO)

  • 최근의 웹 환경은 스마트폰과 같은 모바일, 페이스북과 같은 소셜 네트워크의 증가로 인하여 네트워크의 트래픽이 급격히 증가하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 WAS(web application server)의 애플리케이션에서 기존 자바의 단점인 I/O의 블로킹(blocking)과 버퍼에 가비지 컬렉션 (garbage collection)으로 인한 CPU 성능 감소 등의 문제를 NIO (non-blocking IO)의 다이렉트 버퍼와 DMA (direct memory access)를 이용하여 기존 시스템의 웹 응답 속도를 향상시켰다. 우선순위 변동 등으로 상대적으로 데이터 순환이 많은 키값은 조작이 용이한 해시맵에 담아 캐시 우선순위 변경 알고리즘을 적용한다. 용량이 큰 응답 데이터는 속도가 빠른 다이렉트 버퍼에 분리 저장하여 성능을 높인다. 캐시 적중 시와 적중이 안 될 경우의 여러 상황에서의 실험을 통해 본 논문에서 제안한 NIO를 이용한 방법이 많은 성능 향상을 보여줌을 확인할 수 있다.

GPS 프로브 차량 속도자료를 이용한 고속도로 사고 위험구간 추출기법 (Extraction of Hazardous Freeway Sections Using GPS-Based Probe Vehicle Speed Data)

  • 본 연구에서는 고속도로에서 GPS(Global Positioning System)수신기를 장착한 프로브차량을 이용하여 수집한 속도자료를 이용하여 사고 위험구간을 추출하는 방법론을 제시하였다. 위험구간 추출을 사고발생 유 무를 판단하는 분류문제(Classification)로 정형화하고 베이지안 신경망을 적용하였다. 개별차량의 속도자료를 이용하여 다양한 잠재적 독립변수를 설정하고 이항 로지스틱 회귀분석을 이용하여 통계적으로 유의미한 변수만을 추출하여 베이지안 신경망의 입력자료로 사용하였다. 제안된 방법론의 성능 평가를 위해 사고 발생 경험이 있는 위험구간을 정확히 추출하는 분류정확도를 효과척도로 활용하였다. 본 연구에서 제안한 방법론의 타당성을 60%의 분류정확도를 통해 확인할 수 있었다. 고속도로 신설노선의 교통안전성을 평가하고 사고예방을 위한 대응책 개발 및 적용에 본 연구의 결과가 효과적으로 활용될 것으로 기대된다.

다양한 실내 환경에서의 $CO_2$ 농도 변화 분석 연구 (A Study on the Analysis of $CO_2$ Concentration Variation According to the Indoor Space Condition Changes)

  • Air quality of indoor space environment is affected by various pollutants like as particles and chemical stuffs. The indoor air pollution affects directly the human respiration organs to cause consequently unpleasant mental status. The $CO_2$ concentration level is one of the harmful components of air pollutants. Major factor to increase the $CO_2$ concentration level is the people's breath amount in indoor. The car exhaust gas diffused from the around road also has strong affect on $CO_2$ concentration. There are some other reasons to affect the $CO_2$ concentration change, such as, real-time change of the population movement, closeness to the indoor air flow inlet window and changes in road car traffic amount. A remote monitoring system to measure environmental indoor air pollution concerning on the $CO_2$ concentration was studied and installed realized set-up model. Zigbee network configuration was applied for this system and the $CO_2$ concentration data were collected through USN network. A software program was developed to assure systematic analysis and to display real-time data on web pages. For the experimental test various condition was set up, like as, window opening, stopping air condition operation and adjusting fan heater work, etc. The analysis result showed the relation of various environmental conditions to $CO_2$ concentration changes. The causes to increase $CO_2$ concentration were experimentally defined as windows closing, the stopping air condition system, fan heater operation. To keep the $CO_2$ concentration under the legally required ppm level in public access indoor space, the developed remote measurement system will be usefully applied.

방송통신 통합을 위한 비대칭 WDM-EPON 구조에 관한 연구 (An asymmetric WDM-EPON structure for the convergence of broadcast and communication)

  • 본 논문에서는 방송과 통신의 융합을 고려한 고속가입자망의 구현을 위해 비대칭 WDM-EPON을 제안하였다. 이 방식에서는 OLT에서 각 가입자 노드로의 하향 전송에는 WDM (Wavelength Division Multiplexing) 전송방식을 이용함으로써 방송 및 다양한 멀티미디어 서비스를 수용하기 위한 넓은 대역폭을 만족하였다. 반면에 넓은 대역폭이 필요하지 않는 상향전송에는 WDM방식보다는 상대적으로 값이 싼 EPON 전송방식을 채택하였다. 본 논문에서는 물리계층에서의 전송시험 결과를 제시한다. ONU가 홈게이트웨이에 이용되기 위해서는 접속 프로토콜은 홈게이트웨이의 트래픽 형태에 적절해야만 한다. 음성의 경우 시간 지연에 민감한 반면 데이터는 덜 민감하다. 본 논문에서는 가입자망에서 다양한 형태의 데이터를 함께 수용할 수 있는 새로운 동적 대역할당 프로토콜을 제시하였으며 이의 성능을 분석하였다. 시간 지연에 민감한 신호의 성능을 보장하기 위해 최대 사이클 타임을 규정하였으며, 하향 제어신호가 급격히 늘어나는 것을 방지하기 위해 최소 윈도우를 규정하였다. 제안된 EPON 프로토콜이 기존 방식에 비해 가지는 장점들을 시뮬레이션에 의해 보였다.

Structural health monitoring of a cable-stayed bridge using wireless smart sensor technology: data analyses

  • This paper analyses the data collected from the $2^{nd}$ Jindo Bridge, a cable-stayed bridge in Korea that is a structural health monitoring (SHM) international test bed for advanced wireless smart sensors network (WSSN) technology. The SHM system consists of a total of 70 wireless smart sensor nodes deployed underneath of the deck, on the pylons, and on the cables to capture the vibration of the bridge excited by traffic and environmental loadings. Analysis of the data is performed in both the time and frequency domains. Modal properties of the bridge are identified using the frequency domain decomposition and the stochastic subspace identification methods based on the output-only measurements, and the results are compared with those obtained from a detailed finite element model. Tension forces for the 10 instrumented stay cables are also estimated from the ambient acceleration data and compared both with those from the initial design and with those obtained during two previous regular inspections. The results of the data analyses demonstrate that the WSSN-based SHM system performs effectively for this cable-stayed bridge, giving direct access to the physical status of the bridge.
