  • Surface activities of four potassium N-acyl-N-methyl-${\beta}$-alaninate including surface tension, foaming power, foam stability, emulsifying power and dispersion power were measured respectively, and critical micelle concentration(cmc) was evaluated. Consequently these anionic surfactants with long chain acyl amide showed good emusifying power of O/W type, foaming, foam stability and dispersion effect.

  • Long incubation period of W nucleation on the TiN glue layer is a serious problem in blanket W process. In this study we investigated the dependence of W nucleation and growth rate on the preparation method of the TiN film, deposition temperature, chemistry, $SiH_4/WF_6$ ratio and sputter etching, ion implantation, and $SiH_4$ flushing pre-treatments. Incubation periods of W nucleation and deposition rates of W growth on three different TiNs are in the order of TiN>RTP-TiN> annealed TiN and TiN${\leq}$RTP-TiN${\leq}$ annealed TiN, respectively. $\beta$-W is not found on TiN substrate even for high $SiH_4/WF_6$ ratio. Sputter etching pre-treatment increases incubation period of W nucleation, while it decreases deposition rate. $SiH_4$ flushing pre-treatment decreases incubation period, but it slightly decreases deposition rate.

Effect of Low Levels of Leucaena Foliage Supplementation on Intake, Natrient Digestibility and Microbial N Yield in Cattle Fed Rice Straw Alone

  • The minimum amounts of leucaena (Leucaena leucocephala) required to improve the performance of cattle on a straw diet has been studied. Four levels of leucaena, namely 0 (0%), 2 kg (10%), 4 kg (18%) and 6 kg (27% of dietary dry matter intake) were supplied to 4 adult indigenous bulls ($355{\pm}21.5kg$ weight) fed rice straw alone, in a $4{\times}4$ latin square design. Measurements were made on intake, digestibility, N balance and microbial N yield. Up to 10% level of leucaena supplementation, there were no significant improvement on intake, digestibility, microbial N yield and N balance. Both straw and total dry matter intake showed diminishing return to increasing levels of leucaena supplementation and the maximum intake was observed at around 20% level. However, dietary N and digestible organic matter intake, the microbial N yield and the N balance increased linearly to the increasing levels of leucaena supplementation. On a rice straw based diet, the minimum level of leucaena required to improve the animal performance would probably be at around 20% of the dietary intake.

  • 본 실험은 이병 딸기의 조직에서 분리 동정된 시들음병균(Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. fragariae) 균주들의 유?거 변이를 random amplified polymorphic DNA(RAPD) marker들을 이용하여 조사하였다. 총 24개의 딸기 시들음병 균주들의 DNA를 주형으로 하여 16개의 random 10-mer primer들을 사용하여 증폭시킨 결과 총 231개의 marker들을 이용하여 유전적 변이를 조사해 본 결과 크게 RAPD I과 RAPD II의 2개 그룹으로 나눌 수 있었다. RAPD I그룹에 속하는 균주는 VCG A에 속하는 Y1, K1, K2, K3, K4, N2, N3, N4-1, N6-1, N6-2, N8, N9, N10, M1-2-1 균주, VCG B에 속하는 M4-1 균주 그리고 VCG C에 속하는 N1, Y2 균주들이었고, RAPD II그룹에는 VCG B에 속하는 M1-1, M2-2-1, M2-4-2, M3-2, M3-3-2 균주와 VCG D에 속하는 N1 1 균주가 속하였다. 이들 2그룹 간에는 31%의 유사성이 있었다.

Late Fall Nitrogen Application and Turf Cover for Zoysiagrass (Zoysia japonica) Spring Green-up

  • The use of zoysiagrass (Zoysia japonica Steud.) in the transition zone is limited because of a lack of cold hardiness although zoysiagrass has many advantages compared to other warm-season and cool-season grasses. Late-fall N fertilization is often applied for darker green color of turfgrass in early spring and more extensive root growth without rapid top growth. The objective of the study was to evaluate the effects of late fall N application and turf cover for zoysiagrass spring green-up. Clear polyvinyl chloride (PVC) film was used for turf cover. The amount of N applied were 5 and $10g\;N\;m^{-2}$ for the low and high N rate treatments, respectively. Covered zoysiagrass had greater turfgrass color and quality in early spring than non-covered zoysiagrass. The high N rate had 0.6 to 2.3 greater turfgrass quality than the low N rate on 7 of 9 rating dates. Slow-release N as late fall fertilization is more effective for turfgrass color and quality than fast-release N in spring. Turf cover could reduce the period of yellow zoysiagrass, and the earlier time of spring green-up could be advanced by increasing turfgrass quality and growth of zoysiagrass.

  • Generally, the linear programming (LP) with O(n4) time complexity is applied to mixture optimization problem that can be produce the given ingredients grade product with minimum cost from mixture of various raw materials. This paper suggests heuristic algorithm with O(n log n) time complexity to obtain the solution of this problem. The proposed algorithm meets the content range of the components required by the alloy steel plate while obtaining the minimum raw material cost, decides the quantity of raw material that is satisfied with ingredients grade for ascending order of unit cost. Although the proposed algorithm applies simple decision technique with O(n log n) time complexity, it can be obtains same solution as or more than optimization technique of linear programing.

  • Recently, Hyper-Star network HS(m,k) which improves the network cost of hypercube has been proposed. In this paper, we show that the bisection width of regular Hyper-Star network HS(2n,n) is maximum (2n-2,n-1). Using the concept of container, we also show that k-wide diameter of HS(2n,n) is less than dist(u,v)+4, and the fault diameter is less than D(HS(2n,n))+2, where dist(u,v) is the shortest path length between any two nodes u and v in HS(2n,n), and D(HS(2n,n)) is its diameter.

  • Nitrous oxide ($N_2O$), known as one of the major greenhouse gases, is an important component of the earth's atmosphere, and gives rise to precursor of acid rain and photochemical smog. For the removal of $N_2O$ and other nitrogen oxides, the SCR reaction system with various reductants is widely used. This study is based on the results of experimental and theoretical examinations on the catalytic decomposition of sole nitrous oxide ($N_2O$) and selective catalytic reduction of $N_2O$ with $CH_4$ in the presence of oxygen using mixed metal oxide catalysts obtained from hydrolatcite-type precursors. When $CH_4$ is fed together with a reductant, it affects positively on the $N_2O$ decomposition activity. At an optimum ratio of $CH_4$ to $O_2$ mole ratio, the $N_2O$ conversion activity is enhanced on the SCR reaction with partial oxidation of methane.

Partial Key Exposure Attack on Unbalanced RSA with small CRT exponent (작은 CRT 지수를 사용한 RSA에서의 일부 키 노출 공격)

  • In Crypto 2002 May analyzed the relation between the size of two primes and private key in unbalanced RSA with small CRT exponent. Also in Crypto 2003 he showed that if $N^{1}$4/ amount of most significant bits(least significant bits) of $d_{p}$ is exposed in balanced RSA with CRT, N can be factored. To prove this he used Howgrave-Graham's Theorem. In this paper we show that if $N^{1}$4/ amount of $d_{p}$ , p is smaller than q, and bigger than $N^{0.382}$ to avoid May's attack, is exposed in unbalanced RSA with small CRT exponent, it is enough to expose $d_{p}$ . We use Coppersmith's theorem with unbalanced primes.
