해녀콩 (Canavalia lineata (THUNB.) DC.) 추출물의 항산화 효과 및 NO 생성 억제 효과 (Antioxidant Effects and Inhibitory Effect on NO Synthesis by Extracts of Canavalia lineata)

  • Scavenging effects of DPPH radical and hydroxyl radical, inhibition of linoleic acid oxidation, inhibition of NO synthesis and iNOS expression were tested with extracts and chromatographic subfractions of Canavalia lineata obtained at Jeju island. Chloroform extract and its subfractions gave moderate effects on scavenging DPPH radical and hydroxyl radical, They also inhibited linoleic acid oxidation, and NO synthesis. Inhibition of NO synthesis resulted from the repression of iNOS gene expression. Ethyl acetate extract and its subfractions showed excellent effects on scavenging DPPH radical and hydroxyl radical, while they were cytotoxic.

  • In this paper, we prove that the range of homomorphism from a C\ulcorner-algebra A into a commutative Banach algebra B whose radical is nil contains no non-zero element of the radical of B. Using this result we show that there is no non-zero homomorphism from a C\ulcorner-algebra into a commutative radical nil Banach algebra.

Effect of Nitrite and Nitrate as the Source of OH Radical in the O3/UV Process with or without Benzene

  • This study suggests the prediction model for the concentration variation of $NO_2{^-}$ and $NO_3{^-}$ along with the rate constants of all reactions during ozonation under UV radiation ($O_3$/UV process). While $NO_2{^-}$ was completely converted into $NO_3{^-}$ during the $O_3$-only process, the production of $NO_2$ radical or $N_2O_4$ was expected in the $O_3$/UV process. In addition, the quenching of OH radicals, by $NO_2$ radical in the $O_3$/UV process, resulted in regeneration of $NO_2{^-}$. However, the regeneration of $NO_2{^-}$ was not observed in the $O_3$/UV process in the presence of $C_6H_6$ where the concentrations of $NO_2{^-}$ and $NO_3{^-}$ were significantly reduced compared to in the process without $C_6H_6$. The pseudo-first order rate constants of all species were calculated with and without the presence of $C_6H_6$ to predict the variation of concentrations of all species during the $O_3$/UV process. It was suggested that $NO_2{^-}$ and $NO_3{^-}$ in the $O_3$/UV process can be more effectively removed from an aqueous system with an OH radical scavenger such as $C_6H_6$.

상황버섯 추출물의 항산화 효과 (Antioxidative Effects of Phellinus linteus Extract)

  • 본 연구에서는 ${O_2}^-,{\cdot}OH$ radical, NO, $ONOO^-$ 자유라디칼을 유발시키는 in vitro assay system과 free radical-induced oxidative stress에 의한 단백질 손상에 대한 진흙버섯속에 속하는 상황버섯 물 추출물의 항산화 효과를 측정하였다. 상황버섯 물 추출물의 ${O_2}^-,{\cdot}OH$ radical, NO, $ONOO^-$ 자유라디칼 억제효과에서는 실험에 사용된 양성 대조물 보다는 낮게 나타났으나 모든 실험계에서 대조군에 비해 뚜렷하게 자유라디칼 소거효과를 나타냈다. 또한 상황버섯 물 추출물은 산화적 스트레스에 의한 단백질 손상 억제효과에서도 대조군에 비해 명확한 저해효과를 나타냈다. 그러므로 상황버섯의 항산화 효과는 상황버섯의 약리학적 효능을 설명하는데 중요한 기초 자료라고 사료된다.

  • 오존은 태양광선의 존재 하에 질소산화물과 VOCs가 관련하여 발생하는 생성물이다. 대기중의 VOCs 는 히드록실 라디칼(hydroxyl radical, OHㆍ)과 같은 자유 라디칼(free radical)과 반응하여 하이드로퍼옥시 라디칼(hydroperoxy radical, HO$_2$ㆍ)과 알킬 퍼옥시 라디칼(alkyl peroxy radical, RO$_2$ㆍ)을 생성해 낸다. 이 퍼옥시 라디칼들은 NO를 NO$_2$ㆍ로 산화시키며 또한 히드록실 라디칼을 재생하며 이 히드록실 라디칼은 다시 VOCs와 반응한다. 그리고, 이때 산화된 NO$_2$는 햇빛에 의해 NO와 자유산소원자(free oxygen atom)로 광분해 되는데, 여기서 생성된 자유산소인자는 산소분자와 반응하여 오존을 생성한다. 신 균주 Bacillus amyloliquefaciens NBF11-1을 이용하여 발효한 청국장의 항산화효과 (The Antioxidant Effect of Cheonggukjang, Fermented Using the New Strain, Bacillus amyloliquefaciens NBF11-1)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 대나무 줄기표면에서 처음 발견 하였으나, 아직까지는 연구가 미흡한 신 균주 Bacillus amyloliquefaciens NBF11-1의 생리활성 효과를 알아보기 위하여 청국장 전통 발효 균주인 Bacillus subtilis NG24를 대조군으로 하여 항산화효과에 대한 비교분석을 실시하였다. 청국장 추출물의 항산화 실험 결과에서 Total Polyphenol 추출물 함량의 측정 결과는 B.subtilis NG24에 비해 B.amyloliquefaciens NBF11-1 시료에서 유의하게 증가하였다(p=0.032). SOD 유사활성과 DPPH radical 소거능 및 NO radical 소거능에서 B.subtilis NG24에 비해 B.amyloliquefaciens NBF11-1을 포함한 시료에서 농도가 증가함에 따라 유의하게 증가하였다(p<.05). 추가적으로, 각 항산화 실험의 $IC_{50}$은 B.subtilis NG24에 비해 B.amyloliquefaciens NBF11-1 시료에서 SOD 유사활성(p=0.045), DPPH radical 소거능(p=0.041), NO radical 소거능(p=0.019)과 같이 유의한 차이로 감소하였다.

사과락(絲瓜絡)의 항산화효과 및 3T3-L1분화 시 Cytokine류에 미치는 영향 (Experimental Study on Antioxidative Effect of Luffae Fructus Retinervus and Their Effects on Cytokines to 3T3-L1 Cell Lines)

  • In recent year, We are concerned in anti-aging, disease-protection, long-life, many method are used in solving this problem. Recently, We heard that Luffae Fructus Retinervus(LFR) has effect of anti-aging, disease-protection, long-life. So I let made a experiment for this result. The purpose of this study is to; 1) the anti-oxidant effect of Luffae Fructus Retinervus(LFR) used for 3 methods, those are DPPH radical scavenging activity, Nitric oxide(NO) radical scavenging activity, Superoxide anion radical scavenging activity, 2) cultivation 3T3-L 1 Preadipocytes and Protein chip used for ProteoPlexTM 16-Well Murine Cytokine Array Kit. We measured level of DPPH radical scavenging activity. And we experienced that the ability of DPPH radical's elimination was increased by rising concentration of LFR. When the concentration of LFR was 5 mg/ml, the ability of DPPH radical's elimination was Maximum. We measured level of Nitric oxide(NO) radical scavenging activity. And we founded that the ability of NO radical's elimination was significant when concentration of LFR was from 1.25 mg/ml to 2.5 mg/ml. We measured level of Superoxide anion radical scavenging activity. And we founded that the ability of Superoxide anion radical's elimination was maximum when concentration of LFR was 0.3125 mg. When we inspected Antioxidative Effects with BSA, we experienced that ability of defense was increased by rising concentration of LFR. We known the immunity of LFR about 3T3-L1 Preadipocytes and gained the increase of Cytokines(IL-2, IL-4, GM-CSF) without IL-12p70, $INF-{\gamma}$, $TNF-{\alpha}$ So I guess that Luffae Fructus Retinervus(LFR) has effects of anti-aging, disease-protection, long-life, etc.

호박잎의 항산화 효과 연구 (Experimental Study on Effects of Cucurbita moschata Duch. on Antioxidation)

Recently, We heard that Cucurbita moschata Duch. has anti-hypertensive effect and good for health. So I let made a experiment for this result of the anti-oxidant effect of Cucurbita moschata Duch. used for 3 methods, those are DPPH radical scavenging activity, Nitric oxide(NO) radical scavenging activity and Bovine serum albumin(BSA). The results of this study were as follows: We measured level of DPPH radical scavenging activity. And we obtained results that the ability of DPPH radical's elimination was increased when concentration of Cucurbita moschata Duch. was to $20\;mg/m{\ell}$. We measured level of Nitric oxide(NO) radical scavenging activity. And we founded that the ability of NO radical's elimination was increased when concentration of Cucurbita moschata Duch. was to $10\;mg/m{\ell}$. When we inspected antioxidation with Bovine serum albumin(BSA). And we obtained that antioxidative ability was increased after$2.5\;mg/m{\ell}$ of Cucurbita moschata Duch.. So I guess that Cucurbita moschata Duch. has effect of antioxidative ability. Hereafter we need differential experimental methods for evidence of antioxidative effect on Cucurbita moschata Duch.

수원 5호 메밀의 유리라디칼 소거 및 Xanthine oxidase 활성 저해 (Free radical Scavenging Activities and Inhibitory Effects on Xanthine oxidase of Buckwheat (Suwon No. 5))

  • To examine the free radical scavenging activities from buckwheat, Suwon No. 5 was extracted with various solvents. The seed of Suwon No. 5 had a high contents of carbohydrate, but the vegetable of that had a 31.4% of protein, 28.6% of ash and 25.7% carbohydrate as moisture free basis. Phenols contents of vegetable extracts had higher than those of seed extracts. Acetone extract of vegetable showed the greatest electron donating ability. Butanol and acetone extracts of vegetable showed high inhibitory effect on lipid peroxidation. Acetone extract of vegetable has also excellent activity in the superoxide radical scavenging activity by xanthine/xanthine oxidase-cytochrome c reduction system. The inhibitory effects of extracts on xanthine oxidase were measured. Acetone extract had the strongest inhibitory effect on xanthine oxidase and $IC_{50}$ was 2.2$\mu\textrm{g}$.

  • HO$_2$ radical plays pivotal roles in the tropospheric $O_3$ formation chemistry. This radical oxidizes NO to NO$_2$ and thus HO$_2$ radical can lead to in-situ ozone formation. Numerous methods have been tried to measure concentrations of atmospheric HO$_2$ in gas phase. Detecting methods applied in the air are a chemical amplifier (Cantrell et al., 1996), FAGE (Fluorescence Assay with Gas Expansion) (Hard et al., 1984), and LIF (Laser-induced Fluorescence) (Stevens et al., 1994). These methods have been limited because of low sensitivity and interferences such as $O_3$, NO, and itself (Stevens et al.,1994). (omitted)
