  • Polar transmitter can support multi-band and multi-mode operation. The efficiency of frequency usage can be increased if polar transmitters can transmit multi-carrier signals. In this paper the configuration of polar transmitters is investigated to generate multi-carrier signals. Spectrum and CCDF Simulation results of two-carrier signals generated by the polar transmitter can be used to design of PM and AM path in a polar transmitter.

  • In this paper, we designed a multi-carrier digital transmitter for CDMA base-station using a direct conversion scheme and verified the performance through circuit simulations. We examined a new technology required to design a multi-carrier transmitter, then designed and simulated a multi-carrier digital transmitter. ADS (Advanced Design System), RF simulation S/W of Agilent Technologies, was used for designing and simulating the multi-carrier digital transmitter. First, we simulated a digital block and an analog block separately, then performed a co-simulation for entire system. From the results, the final analog outputs of the designed multi-carrier digital transmitter met the spectrum mask characteristics of IS-97 & 3G TS 25.104 standard requirements. It means that proposed scheme could be applied to implement a multi-carrier digital transmitter for CDMA base-station. Therefore, proposed multi-carrier digital transmitter using a direct conversion scheme can accomplish cost-reduction and improvements of technology in the next CDMA base-station.

We design the realtime HD level video streaming transmitter supporting the multi-platform using the TMS320DM386 video processor of T.I company and then porting the Linux kernel 2.6.29 and implementing the RTSP(Real Time Streaming Protocol)/RTP(Real Time Transport Protocol), HLS(Http Live Streaming), RTMP(Real Time Messaging Protocol) that can support the multi-platform of video stream protocol of the received equipments (smart phone, tablet PC, notebook etc.). For proving the performance of developed video streaming transmitter, we make the testing environment for testing the performance of streaming transmitter using the notebook, iPad, android Phone, and then analysis the received video in the client displayer. In this paper, we suggest the developed the Realtime HD(High Definition) level Video Streaming transmitter performance data values higher than the exist products.

  • A high speed serial link transmitter using multi-level signaling is proposed. To achieve high data rate m high speed serial link, 4-pulse amplitude modulation (PAM) is used. By transmitting 2 bit data in each symbol time, high speed data transmission, two times than binary signaling, is achieved. The transmitter transmits current-mode output instead of voltage-mode output Current-mode output is much faster than voltage-mode output, so higher data transmission is available by increasing switching speed of driver. $2^5-1$ pseudo-random bit sequence (PRBS) generator is contained to perform built-in self test (BIST). The 4-PAM transmitter is designed in Dongbu HiTek $0.18{\mu}m$ CMOS technology and achieves 8 Gb/s, 160 mV of eye height with 1.8 V supply voltage. The transmitter consumes only 98 mW for 8 Gb/s transmission.

  • Multi-band and multi-mode transmitters are needed for SDR and CR. Recently many types of polar transmitters have been studied in order to implement a multi-band and multi-mode transmitter. Polar transmitters have many advantages, such as a simple structure, high efficiency and etc. In this paper we consider the number of D/A bit and the effects of a delay mismatch as design parameters for implementing polar transmitters. From the simulation we know that a 10 bit D/A is sufficient and a delay mismatch must be maintained small than 1/64 chip for satisfying the spectrum mask characteristics. We implement a polar transmitter based on the design parameters and the measured output signal meet the spectrum mask of 800MHz CDMA.

  • Multi-code CDMA is an appropriate scheme for transmitting high rate data. However, dynamic range of the signal is large, and power amplifier with good linearity is required. Code select CDMA (CS/CDMA) is a variation of multi-code CDMA scheme that ensures constant amplitude transmission. In CS/CDMA input data selects multiple orthogonal codes, and sum of these selected codes are MPSK modulated to convert multi-level symbol into different carrier phases. CS/CDMA system employs level clipping to limit the number of levels at the output symbol to avoid hish density of signal constellation. In our previous work we showed that by encoding input data of CS/CDMA amplitude of the output symbol can be made constant. With this coding scheme, level clipping is not necessary and the output signal can be BPSK modulated for transmission. In this paper we show that the constant amplitude coded(CA-) CS/CDMA transmitter can be implemented using only logic gates, and the hardware complexity is very low. In the proposed transmitter architecture there is no apparent redundant encoder block which plays a major role in the constant amplitude coded CS/CDMA.

  • A multi-static SONAR system consists of the transmitters and receivers separately in space. The active target echoes are received along the transmitter-target-receiver path and depend on the shape and aspect angle of the submerged objects at each receiver. Thus, the target echo algorithm used with a mono-static system, in which the transmitter and receiver are located at the same position, has limits in simulating the target echoes for a multi-static SONAR system. In this paper, a target echo modeling procedure for a 3D submerged object in space is described based on the Kirchhoff approximation, and the SONAR system is extended to a multi-static SONAR system. The scattered field from external structures is calculated on the visible surfaces, which is determined based on the locations of the transmitter and receiver. A series of experiments in an acoustic water tank was conducted to measure the target echoes from scaled targets with a single transmitter and 16 receivers. Finally, the numerical results were compared with experimental results and shown to be useful for simulating the target echoes/target strength in a multi-static SONAR system.

  • We consider channel-coded multi-input multi-output (MIMO) orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) transmission and obtain a condition on its signal for it to attain the maximum diversity and coding gain. As this condition may not be realizable, we propose a suboptimal design that employs an orthogonal transform and a space-frequency interleaver between the channel coder and the multi-antenna OFDM transmitter. We propose a corresponding receiving method based on block turbo equalization. Attention is paid to some detailed design of the transmitter and the receiver to curtail the computational complexity and yet deliver good performance. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed transmission technique can outperform the conventional coded MIMO OFDM and the MIMO block single-carrier transmission with cyclic prefixing.

  • Transmit antenna selection techniques are prominent since they exploit the spatial selectivity at the transmitter side. In the literature, antenna selection techniques assume full knowledge of the channel state information (CSI). In this paper, we consider that the CSI is not perfectly known at the transmitter; however, a quantized version of the channel coefficients is fed back by the users. We employ the non-uniform Lloyd-Max quantization algorithm which takes into consideration the distribution of the channel coefficients. Simulation results show that the degradation in the BER of the system with imperfect CSI at the transmitter is tolerable, especially when the transmit diversity order is high.
