A Study on the Electromagnetic Properties due to Circuit Patters in the Printed Circuit Hoard using Computer Simulation (컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 이용한 PCB기판에서의 회로패턴에 따른 전자기적 특성에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, electric field interference was analyzed in the Printed Circuit Board to restrain the elcctromagnetic wave using Boundary Element Method and Finite Element Method. First, charge density distribution was simulated using Boundary Element Method and the characteristic impedance was caculated to restrain the reflex wave, and mutual capacitance was caculated in the multi-strip line PCB. Finally, electric field was simulated in the variable patterns using Finite Element Method. As a result, the optimal structure and characteristics of strip line was obtained and the imformations about the optimal design pattern could be obtained with the analysing the feild distribution.

A Study on fabrication of stacking type Bi-2223 HTS tapes (적층형 Bi-2223 고온초전도 선재 제작에 관한 연구)

  • The critical characteristics of Bi-2223 HTS tapes made by PIT method are influenced by the heat treatment and the mechanical processing. In this study firstly we investigated the influence o rolling reduction rate in mechanical process for improving Jc of HTS tapes. As a result the optimized rolling reduction rate that we obtained was 10%-50% and 30%-30% (1st-2nd). And then we fabricated the stacking type HTS tapes that made of the multi-filamentary tapes with various length(3, 5, 10cm) and with various number of stacking (1, 5, 10 layer). Measuring the critical current and observing the structure of grain we concluded that the stacking type tapes will be able to operate more stably by adding the number of stacking tapes. And we could expect that by minimizing the gap between Ag-sheath of tapes mechanical strength of stacking HTS tapes is enhanced and current in tapes will flow more stably.

  • The electrical characteristics of band-gap engineered tunneling barriers consisting of thin $SiO_2$ and $Si_3N_4$ dielectric layers were investigated. The band structure of stacked tunneling barriers was studied and the effectiveness of these tunneling barriers was compared with that of the conventional tunneling barrier. The band-gap engineered tunneling barriers show the lower operation voltage, faster speed and longer retention time than the conventional $SiO_2$ tunnel barrier. The thickness of each $SiO_2$ and $Si_3N_4$ layer was optimized to improve the performance of non-volatile memory.

  • The (Ba, Sr)TiO$_3$(BST) thin films were fabricated on Pt/Ti/SiO$_2$/Si substrate by RF sputtering technique. The structural properties of the BST thin films were investigated with substrate temperature by XRD, SEM, EDS and AES depth profils. Increasing the substrate temperature, barium multi titanate phases were decreased. The BST thin film had a structure of perovskite type, and had peaks of (100), (200) at the substrate temperature of 50$0^{\circ}C$. When the BST thin films were deposited at the substrate temperature of 50$0^{\circ}C$, the composition ratio of Ba/sr was 52/48.

  • A multi-layer ceramic (MLC) chip type band-pass filter (BPF) is presented. The MLC chip BPF has the benefits of low cost and small size. The BPF consists of coulped stripline resonators and coupling capacitors. The BPF is designed to have an attenuation pole at below the passband for a receiver band of IMT-2000 handset. The computer-aided design technology is applied for analysis of the BPF frequency characteristics. The passband and attenuation pole depend on the coupling between resonators and coupling capacitance. The frequency characterics of the passband and attenuation pole are analyzed with the variation of the coupling between resonators and coupling capacitance. An equivanlent circuit and structure of MLC chip BPF are proposed. The frequency characteristics of the BPF is well acceptable for IMT-2000 application.

Electrical and Optical Characteristics of QD-LEDs Using InP/ZnSe/ZnS Quantum Dot (InP/ZnSe/ZnS 양자점을 이용한 QD-LED의 전기 및 광학적 특성)

  • We have developed quantum dot light emitting diodes (QD-LEDs) using a InP/ZnSe/ZnS multi-shell QD emission layer. The hybrid structure of organic hole transport layer/QD/organic electron transport layer was used for fabricating QD-LEDs. Poly(4-butylphenyl-diphenyl-amine) (poly-TPD) and tris[2,4,6-trimethyl-3-(pyridin-3-yl)phenyl]borane (3TPYMB) molecules were used as hole-transporting and electron-transporting layers, respectively. The emission, current efficiency, and driving characteristics of QD-LEDs with 50, 65 nm thick 3TPYMB layers were investigated. The QD-LED with a 50 nm thick 3TPYMB layer exhibited a maximum current efficiency of 1.3 cd/A.

Characteristics of the photoinduced anisotropy(PA) in Ag/AsGeSeS multilayer thin films (Ag/AsGeSeS 다층박막의 광유기 이방성(PA) 특성)

  • The chalcogenide glasses of thin films have the superior property of photoinduced anisotrophy(PA). In this study, we observed the linear dichroism(D) using the irradiation with polarized He-Ne laser light, in the Ag/As$\sub$40/Ge$\sub$10/Se$\sub$15/S$\sub$35/ multi-layer. Mutilayer structures farmed by alternating metal(Ag) a chalcogenide(As$\sub$40/Ge$\sub$10/Se$\sub$15/S$\sub$35/). Such multilayer structures have a greater sensitivity to illumination and larger dichroism in comparison the conventional double layer structure. Also new phenomena are discovered. These results will be show a capability of new method that suggested more improvement of photoinduced anisotropy property.

  • Optimal topology design is to search the optimal configuration of a structure which can be used as a shape at the conceptual design stage. Our objective is to maximize the stiffness of the structures and ribs under a material usage constraintl. The density of each finite element is the design variable and its relationship with Young's modulus is expressed by quadratic form. The configuration is represented by the entire density distribution, the structural analysis is performed by finite element method and the optimiza- tion is performed by Feasible Direction Method. Feasible Direction Method can handle various problems simultaneously, that is, mult-objectives and multi-constraints. Total computation time can be reduced by the quadratic relationship between the density and the material property and fewer design variables than Homogenization Method. Toplogy optimization technique developed in this research is applied to design the shapes of the ribs.

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the thin fihn dielectric made of hybrid sol, which consist of barium titanate powder, polymeric sol and other polymers. This sol will be used dielectric applied to small, thin electric passive components such as MLCC(Multi Layer Ceramic Condenser), resister, inductor. This sol is composed of mixed fine barium titanate powder and polymeric sol including Ba, Ti-precursor, solvent, chelating agent, chemical reaction catalyst, the additive sols to improve fired densification and temperature reliability. First at all, we mixed hybrid sol to be dispersed and be stabilized by ball milling for 24hrs. By spin coating method, we makes thin film dielectric on the convectional green sheet for MLCC. After heat treatments, we analyzes the structure morphology, physical, electrical properties and X5R Temperature properties.
