아파치 스파크에서의 PARAFAC 분해 기반 텐서 재구성을 이용한 추천 시스템 (PARAFAC Tensor Reconstruction for Recommender System based on Apache Spark)

  • In recent years, there has been active research on a recommender system that considers three or more inputs in addition to users and goods, making it a multi-dimensional array, also known as a tensor. The main issue with using tensor is that there are a lot of missing values, making it sparse. In order to solve this, the tensor can be shrunk using the tensor decomposition algorithm into a lower dimensional array called a factor matrix. Then, the tensor is reconstructed by calculating factor matrices to fill original empty cells with predicted values. This is called tensor reconstruction. In this paper, we propose a user-based Top-K recommender system by normalized PARAFAC tensor reconstruction. This method involves factorization of a tensor into factor matrices and reconstructs the tensor again. Before decomposition, the original tensor is normalized based on each dimension to reduce overfitting. Using the real world dataset, this paper shows the processing of a large amount of data and implements a recommender system based on Apache Spark. In addition, this study has confirmed that the recommender performance is improved through normalization of the tensor.

다중 프로세서 시스템에서 프로세서 지역성을 이용한 원격 캐쉬 교체 정책 (Remote Cache Replacement Policy using Processor Locality in Multi-Processor System)

  • 컴퓨터 시스템에서의 메모리 접근 지연은 전체 시스템 성능에 큰 장애 요인 중 하나이다. 특히 분산 메모리 구조에서 지역 메모리와 원격 메모리의 접근 지연 시간은 큰 차이를 나타낸다. 원격 메모리 접근 지연으로 인한 성능 저하를 줄이고자 원격 메모리 영역만을 캐싱하는 원격 캐쉬가 제안되었으며, 원격 캐쉬는 프로세서 캐쉬와 더불어 다단계 캐쉬 형태로 구성된다. 일반적으로 상위 계층 캐쉬의 모든 내용을 하위 계층 캐쉬가 반드시 포함하는 다단계 캐쉬 내포성(MLI)을 지키는 다중 계층 메모리 구조에서 LRU 교체 정책을 사용할 경우, 하위 계층 캐쉬의 LRU 알고리즘에 따른 라인 교체로 인하여 상위 계층 캐쉬의 라인 교체가 일어날 패, 상위 계층 캐쉬로 요구된 라인 교체가 상위 계층 캐쉬 자체의 LRU 정보와 일치하지 않는 경우가 발생하며, 이로 인해 상위 캐쉬의 적중률이 저하되어 전체 시스템 성능이 저하된다. 본 논문은 원격 캐쉬를 추가시킨 분산 공유 메모리 구조 다중 프로세서 시스템의 성능 향상을 위해 LRU 캐쉬 교체 정책의 단점을 보완한 새로운 원격 캐쉬 교체 정책을 제안한다. 논문에서 제안하는 교체 정책은 LRU 정보에 부가하여 프로세서의 시간적 접근 지역성을 이용하여 교체할 캐쉰 라인을 선택하게 함으로써, 프로세서에서 자주 사용되는 원격 캐쉬 라인의 교체가 일어나지 않도록 하여 시스템의 성능 향상을 꾀한다. 시뮬레이션을 통한 성능비교 결과, 본 논문에서 제시한 원격 캐쉬 교체 정책은 기존의 LRU 교체 정책과 비교하여 평균 $3\%$, 최대 $10\%$의 무효화 및 캐쉬 접근 실패를 감소시켰고, 이 결과 전체 시스템의 성능은 평균 $2.5\%$, 최대 $3.5\%$ 향상되었다.

3차원 가상착의 시스템을 활용한 원피스드레스의 디자인 변화에 따른 이미지 차이 (Images Differences of Design Variations in One-Piece Dress Using a 3D Virtual Clothing System)

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the differences of visual image on variations in the length and princess line, in a silhouette of a one-piece dress with the application of the 3D Virtual Clothing System known as i-designer. Eight sample were examined: 2 variations of the length and 2 variations of the princess line, 2 variations of the form of a silhouette. The data was obtained from 66 fashion design majors. The data was assessed by a t-test and a multi-way ANOVA and factor analysis. The results were as follows; The visual image according to the design variables, four factors were selected; the attractiveness factor, the activeness factor, the practicality factor, the elegance factor. In these factors, the attractiveness factor is estimated by the most important factor. As a result of analyzing the effect of the interaction in the visual image according to the design variables, the influence of the main effect was found to be great in each factor. In the activeness factor, a significant difference was noted in the two-way interaction between the length and the princess line, the length and the silhouette. In the elegance factor, a significant difference was noted in the two-way interaction between the length and the silhouette. However, the influence on three-way interaction among the length, the princess line, and the silhouette was not significant.

  • In this paper, we consider a multi-factor, multi-cause decision making problem of supply chain. And we show how to measure the operational efficiency of the components in supply chain and also how to improve the efficiency of each component and whole supply chain. As a methodology, the data envelopment analysis (DEA) is adopted to measure the efficiency by considering weight factors such as flexibility, information sharing, logistics level, etc. The proposed algorithm allows whole supply chain to have the improved efficiency rate.

  • TCM offers considerable coding gains without compromising bandwidth or signal power. But TCM decoder is more complex than convolutional Viterbi decoder. Because, the number of branches exponentially increased by the constraint length and input symbol bits. The parallelism of ACS and memory management technique of SPMM is one of the important factor for speed-up and hardware complexity. This paper proposes a multi-processing technique of ACS and also gives a memory management technique of SPMM in TCM decoders.

  • New capacitance modeling and transient analysis for multi-layer interconnects with shielding effect are presented. The upper layer capacitances with under-layer shielding lines are represented by introducing a filling factor η which can be defined as the ratio of upper-layer line length to the total under-layer line width. The upper-layer effective self capacitances considering two extreme cases which the underlayer metals are assumed as a ground or as a Vdd are modeled. The signal transient analysis with shielding effect model is performed.

  • This paper proposes buck-type charging method using motor inductance, 3-phase inverter and bi-directional converter without an additional charger in plug-in hybrid electric vehicles. The proposed system has advantages over the conventional system such as high charging efficiency, high power factor, and low total harmonic distortion. The validity of each methods are verified by theoretical analysis and simulation.

  • Numerical study on the advection in a microchannel with multi blocks has been performed. the microchannel is simulated three-dimensionally using a commercial fluid analysis code, FLUENT 6.0. Geometric factors of blocks are used in analysing the mixing effect. the numerical results show that the height of blocks in the channel is a key factor. Further study is required to investigate mixing effect of the microchamel with various shapes.

  • Fractional Brwonian motion(fBm) has properties of behaving tails and exhibiting long memory while remaining Gaussian. In particular, it is well known that interest rates show some long memories and non-Markovian. We present no aribitrage condition for HJM model under the multi-factor fBm reflecting the long range dependence in the interest rate model.

  • This paper presents numerical analysis result of rotor-bearing system of a multi-stage high pressure pump. Especially resonance possibility, stability and damping factor are estimated for a selected commercial multi-stage high pressure pump. The result shows that it is not easy to avoid resonance of rotor-bearing system against main excitation forces which are residual unbalance force and pressure pulsation. This makes damping effect be more important.
