  • Most of the data envelopment analysis (DEA) models evaluate the relative efficiency of a decision making unit (DMU) based on the assumption that inputs in a specific period are consumed to produce the output in the same period of time. However, there may be some time lag between the consumption of input resources and the production of outputs. A few models to handle the concept of the time lag effect have been proposed. This paper suggests a new multi-period input DEA model considering the consistent time lag effects. Consistency of time lag effect means that the time delay for the same input factor or output factor are consistent throughout the periods. It is more realistic than the time lag effect for the same output or input factor can vary over the periods. The suggested model is an output-oriented model in order to adopt the consistent time lag effect. We analyze the results of the suggested model and the existing multi period input model with a sample data set from a long-term national research and development program in Korea. We show that the suggested model may have the better discrimination power than existing model while the ranking of DMUs is not different by two nonparametric tests.

  • The crest factor properties of 16-QAM modulated one- and two-code assisted multi-carrier code-division multiple-access (MC-CDMA) signals employing complementary pair as spreading sequences are characterized. It is shown that a set of relationship between the two 16-QAM symbols entirely characterize the power envelope waveforms of the signals. There exists 60 different sets of relationship, which results in 16 different crest factors as a result of various equivalent transforms on the corresponding message symbols. It is also shown that the individual crest factor corresponding to each message combination is always bounded by 3dB.

  • The work factor approach, so-called single specimen technique could be used to determine energy release rate from a single test record for unidirectional CLS specimen. In the present study, the work factor approach was extended to determine the mixed-mode fracture toughness of multi-directional graphite/epoxy laminated composites. Multi-directional CLS specimens were used for fracture tests. The stacking sequences used for the lap and the strap were $[90_2/0_2]_s/[0_4/90_4]_s$ and $[0/\pm45/0]_s/[0_2/\pm45_2/0_2]_2$, respectively. For both cases, the fracture toughness determined from the work factor approach was compared with that determined from the compliance method. It was found that both methods produced fracture toughness within a maximum 15% difference for each stacking sequence. The fractography analysis also showed that the fiber bridging occurred for$[0/\pm45/0]_s/[0_2/\pm45_2/0_2]_2$ case while it did not occur for $[90_2/0_2]_s/[0_4/90_4]_s$ case.

  • The paper aims at developing a more reliable and accurate BWIM(Bridge Weigh-In-Motion) algorithm using measured strain data and examining its efficiency with various tests on bridges. It proposes a BWIM algorithm using density estimation function and average modification factor for moment-strain relationship. Density estimation function has been proved to be reliably applied when multiple axle loads are estimated. An average modification factor is applied to minimize overall error that can be encountered between theoretically computed moments and measured strains at multiple locations in a bridge. The developed algorithm has been successfully examined through numerical simulations, laboratory tests, and also by field tests on a multi-girder composite bridge.

  • This study conducted a research as to condensation heat transfer by using three types of flat micro multi-channel tubes with different processing of micro-fin and number of channels inside the pipes and different sizes of appearances. In addition, identical studies were conducted by using smoothing circular tubes with 5mm external diameter to study heat transfer coefficient. The condensation heat transfer coefficient showed an increase as the vapor quality and mass flux increased. However, each tube shows little differences compared to 400kg/m2s or identical in case the mass flux are 200kg/m2s and 100kg/m2s. The major reason for these factors is increase-decrease of heat transfer area that the flux type of refrigerant is exposed to the coolant's vapor with the effect of channel aspect ratio or micro-fin. In addition, the heat transfer coefficient was unrelated to the heat flux, and shows a rise as the saturation temperature gets lower, an effect that occurs from enhanced density. The physical factor of heat transfer coefficient increased as the channel's aspect ratio decreased. Additionally, the micro pin at the multi-channel type tube is decided as a disadvantageous factor to condensation heat enhancement factor. That is, due to the effect of aspect ratio or micro-fin, the increase-decrease of heat transfer area that the flux type of a refrigerant is exposed to the vapor is an important factor.

  • The plant-specific NAC transcription factors control various biological processes, including plant development and stress responses. We have isolated an ANAC032 gene, one of the NAC transcription factor family, which was highly activated by multi-abiotic stresses, including high salt and drought in Arabidopsis. Here, we generated transgenic plants constitutively expressing ANAC032 and its knockout to identify the functional roles of ANAC032 in Arabidopsis under abiotic stress responses. The ANAC032-overexpressing plants showed enhanced tolerance to salinity and drought stresses. The anac032 knockout mutants were observed no significant changes under the high salt and drought conditions. We also monitored the expression of high salt and drought stress-responsive genes in the ANAC032 transgenic plants and anac032 mutant. The ANAC032 overexpression upregulated the expression of stress-responsive genes, RD29A and ERD10, under the stresses. Thus, our data identify that transcription factor ANAC032 plays as an enhancer for salinity and drought tolerance through the upregulation of stress-responsive genes and provides useful genetic traits for generating multi-abiotic stress-tolerant forage crops.

  • The induced voltages by AT power feeding system of electrified traction line to telecommunication line are calculated with the method of multi-conductor line solution in the CCITT Directives. There is a screening effect by railway line itself among various shielding factors against induction. It is the argue point whether the multi-conductor line solution contains the railway line effect since the calculation method does not show any expression about shielding factors. So this paper illuminates the mysterious question by reviewing the shielding factor principle on traction system, scrutinizing the Japanese bible about induction, analyzing the multi-conductor line solution itself, and comparing the result calculation considering the effect of railway screen. This paper concludes that multi-conductor line solution contains the screening effect of railway lines.

  • This study observed how school resilience of adolescents from multi-cultural families was influenced by risk factors and protective factors. Furthermore, this study verified which protective factor moderated factor to exert positive influence on school resilience. The results showed that risk factors negatively influenced school resilience and protective factors positively influenced school resilience with statistical significance. The results showed that 'high self-esteem' moderated 'negative rearing attitude', 'positive attitude' moderated 'negative rearing attitude' and 'parent conflict', whereas 'teacher support' moderated 'negative rearing attitude' to significantly increase school resilience. The study suggested a measure that can reduce risk factors to increase school resilience of children from multi-cultural families according to the moderation relationship between protective factors and risk factors.

  • Today, both sides of modern culture are decisively invaded by digitalization. Authentication is considered to be one of the main components in keeping this process secure. Cyber criminals are working hard in penetrating through the existing network channels to encounter malicious attacks. When it comes to enterprises, the company's information is a major asset. Question here arises is how to protect the vital information. This takes into account various aspects of a society often termed as hyper connected society including online communication, purchases, regulation of access rights and many more. In this research paper, we will discuss about the concepts of MFA and KBA, i.e., Multi-Factor Authentication and Knowledge Based Authentication. The purpose of MFA and KBA its utilization for human.to.everything..interactions, offering easy to be used and secured validation mechanism while having access to the service. In the research, we will also explore the existing yet evolving factor providers (sensors) used for authenticating a user. This is an important tool to protect data from malicious insiders and outsiders. Access Management main goal is to provide authorized users the right to use a service also preventing access to illegal users. Multiple techniques can be implemented to ensure access management. In this paper, we will discuss various techniques to ensure access management suitable for enterprises, primarily focusing/restricting our discussion to multifactor authentication. We will also highlight the role of knowledge-based authentication in multi factor authentication and how it can make enterprises data more secure from Cyber Attack. Lastly, we will also discuss about the future of MFA and KBA.
