  • The wear debris is fall off the moving surfaces in oil-lubricated systems and its morphology is directly related to the damage and failure to the interacting surfaces. The morphology of the wear particles are therefore directly indicative of wear processes occurring in tribological system. The computer image processing and artificial neural network was applied to shape study and identify wear debris generated from the lubricated moving system. In order to describe the characteristics of various wear particles, four representative parameter (50% volumetric diameter, aspect, roundness and reflectivity) from computer image analysis for groups of randomly sampled wear particles, are used as inputs to the network and learned the friction condition of five values (material 3, applied load 1, sliding distance 1). It is shown that identification results depend on the ranges of these shape parameters learned. The three kinds of the wear debris had a different pattern characteristics and recognized the friction condition and materials very well by neural network. We discuss how these approach can be applied to condition diagnosis of the oil-lubricated tribological system.

  • In this paper, we propose a new practical motion model that can exploit the general properties of camera motion in constructing a panorama. accounting for panning. tilting, and evert the change in focal length of the camera. We also present an efficient algorithm to handle moving objects or noose in the scene based on outliers rejection. Spatial and temporal statistical properties of motion field are exploited to detect the outliers. The proposed algorithm removes moving objects or noise from the panoramic Image so that mode clear and complete view of the background Image can be obtained. This method does not require assumptions or a priors knowledge of the scene. The entire process is fully automatic as this method does not require any manual correction in the process of constructing a Panorama. The proposed algorithm is tested on the broadcasting images of soccer games. Oun simulation result shows that this method is superior to conventional image mosaicing algorithms.

  • Microscopic examination of the morphology of wear debris is an accepted method for machine condition and fault diagnosis. However wear particle analysis has not been widely accepted in industry because it is dependent on expert interpretation of particle morphology and subjective assessment criteria. This paper was undertaken to analyze the morphology of wear debris for machine condition diagnosis of the lubricated moving surfaces by image processing and analysis. The lubricating wear test was performed under different sliding conditions using a wear test device made in our laboratory and wear testing specimen of the pin-on-disk-type was rubbed in paraffine series base oil. In order to describe characteristics of debris of various shape and size, four shape parameters (50% volumetric diameter, aspect, roundness and reflectivity) have been developed and outlined in the paper. A system using such techniques promises to obviate the need for subjective, human interpretation of particle morphology in machine condition monitoring, thus to overcome many of the difficulties in current methods and to facilitate wider use of wear particle analysis in machine condition monitoring.

  • In this paper, we propose an adaptive method of tracking multiple moving objects using contour and features in surrounding conditions. We use an adaptive background model for robust processing in surrounding conditions. Object segmentation model detects pixels thresholded from local difference image between background and current image and extracts connected regions. Data association problem is solved by using feature extraction and object recognition model in searching window. We use Kalman filters for real-time tracking. The results of simulation show that the proposed method is good for tracking multiple moving objects in highway image sequences.

  • An underwater mooing target position tracking system using image tracking system of CPMC is developed to use in a test basin. Generally the performance tests of Autonomous Underwater Vehicles(AUVs) are conducted in the sea. Some efforts to perform the test in a test basin are exist, because the real sea tests need much time and manpower. And also the real sea tests are high cost. There is a restriction to acquire the position of AUVs using sonar sensor system in the test tank, because many sound reflecters are exist in a test basin. In this paper a position tracking system for underwater mooing target developed to break though this restriction. A Tank-test is conducted to examine the performance of the position tracking system.

  • In this paper, a new technique for image enhancement using weighted cross-shaped median filter with edge-detection algorithm is proposed. It consists of simple hypothesis test for edge-detection, and makes use of the cross-shaped moving window. This method is applied to noise corrupted image and its results are compared with those of median filters. As for the experimental result, method of weighted cross-shaped median filter is superior to other median filters.

  • The MMS(Mobile Mapping System) using the vehicle equipped GPS, IMU and CCD Cameras is the effective system for the management of the road facilities, update of the digital map, and etc. The image, vehicle's 3 dimensional position and attitude information provided MMS is a important source for positioning objects included the image. In this research we applied the tracking technique to the specific object in image. The extraction of important object from immense MMS data makes more effectiveness in this system.

  • Currently, image processing are used widely and have various types of characteristics with the applications of VOD(Video on demand), the web casting services, the video conference systems and virtual realities. Using the scene change, at every time of video image transitions, an editor can classify the video context and also require a function of in(Boxing insertion. Digital watermarking provides a solution to illegal copying of digital contents and has many other useful applications, including web broadcast monitoring, transaction tracking, authentication, copy control and device control. The Purpose of this thesis is to implement of nonlinear moving picture editor for the multiple watermarking. For the effective watermarking performance, this thesis considers the protection of image quality reduction and robustness for hiding information concurrently.

  • This paper suggests the robust method of extraction for moving objects in illumination variation by using image sequence from an immovable camera. The most difficult part of the implication is the effect by illumination and noise. The object area is hardly estimated when the dusky area occurs in illumination variation by time change. This thesis describes the extraction of moving objects employed by Gaussian mixture model which is noise robust measure. Also, the report suggests the elimination method of illumination part in input image by the representative illumination image which is defined to minimize the illumination influence.

  • This study presents an imaging algorithm that can provide an image of a moving target in a multiple-input-multiple-output radar environment where multiple transmitting and receiving radars are fixed on the ground. The proposed algorithm, which is based on polar format processing using plane wave approximation, is shown to provide an unaliased image by using multiple transmitting radars even when the distances between the receiving radars are relatively large. We derive the conditions necessary to deploy the transmitting radars by which the resolution of the reconstructed image can be improved, while simultaneously reducing aliasing artifacts. Moreover, we offer a means of separating out each transmitting radar target echo. Finally, the performance of the proposed system is verified through a simulation.
