A Study on the Living Characteristics of The Mentally Retarded in Mental REhabilitation Facilities. (정신지체 재활시설의 재원자 생활특성에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to provide an instrument of architectural programming in dwelling and facilities design for the mentally retarded. To do this the normal daily life activities have been analyzed and find the living characteristics who live in mental rehabilitation facilities. Generally, mentally retarded people have below IQ.75, and their normal daily life and social adjustment have some problem. Additionally, multiple disability existence and the difference of disability level have great difference in their living activities depend on person. For this research, People who live in 4 rehabilitation facilities in Daegu, Kyungbuk were investigated. It is particularly necessally space organization for sever retardation and multiple disability children, mild or moderate retardation children and adults to analyze their behavior of moving, stool, meal, and living in a group.

  • Middle size of membrane retractable roof is under 25m span which consists of various moving systems. Trolley is the system that leads the membrane to parking place, transferring the load from the membrane to structural cable. When membrane closes roof completely, thus, structural behavior of trolley, which may contain various material with different friction coefficients, should be investigated by vertical load. Nummerical simulation of trolley prototypes, in this research, was performed by incrementation of vertical load. Consequently, this paper studied proper friction characteristics and provided the effective inner materials of trolley.

  • The objective of the study is to know demographic characteristics mobility motivation housing aspiration and housing values of expected purchasers of the small/medium size apartments located at 'H-area' in Ulsan to enhance their level of housing satisfaction through better planning. The result shows that moving motivation housing aspiration and housing values differ as what size respective expected purchasers want. As a regional characteristic the reality-oriented view of housing is apparent in that their interests are focused on the setups or facilities after-service and maintenance and that they think conveniency more important than the edifices' appearance or beauty.

  • A metal diaphragm compressor has been widely used for supplying a high pressures gas. This compressor mainly consists of gas oil space and metal diaphragm. Gas sucked in the gas space is compressed by an oscillating metal diaphragm existed between the gas and oil space. A non-return discharge and suction check-valve are components of the compressor that draw off the compressed oil and gas. Those components are self-actuated by differential pressures. Therefore, the rapid response and stable operating conditions are required. In the present study, to find out the dynamic behavior of the suction, discharge valve and diaphragm compressor, the unsteady flow field has been investigated numerically by using the unsteady two-way FSI (Fluid Structure Interaction) simulation method, $k-{\omega}$ turbulent model and mesh deformation.

  • An analysis method is suggested and experimentally studied in order to solve a vibration problem of a flexible structure while it is moving. In this method, substructure synthesis method, modal analysis method and Newmark's integral method were used. Total deformation of a structure was composed of quasistatic component and dynamic component. Rigid body modes were considered in calculation of dynamic component. Combining those two component, deformation behavior and a real structural model of a transfer feeder showed good agreements with computational results.

  • In this paper, we examine the steady state dynamic electromechanical behavior of an eccentric Yoffe crack in a piezoelectric ceramic layer bonded between two orthotropic elastic layers under the combined anti-plane mechanical shear and in-plane electrical loadings. We adopted permeable crack face condition. Numerical values on the dynamic energy release rate are obtained. The initial crack propagation orientation for PZT-5H piezoceramic is also predicted by maximum energy release rate criterion.

  • In cold forging of piston-pin for automobile parts, the flow defect appears by the dead metal zone. This appearance evidently happens in products with a thin piercing thickness for the dimension accuracy and the decrease of material loss. The best method that can prevent flow defect is removing dead metal zone. The purpose of this study is to investigate the material flow behavior of forward-backward extruded piston-pin through the relative velocity ratio and the stroke control of upper moving punch & container using the flow control forming technique. The finite element simulations are applied to analyse the flow defect, then the results are compared with the plasticine model material experiments. The model experiment results are in good agreement with the FE simulation ones.

  • In the present study a pre/post-processor program has been developed to be used with a general CFD code. This program is capable of performing the basic functions of the pre/post-processing, which include mesh generation and post processing plots. Also through perspective projection, this program can be used to check the quality of generated mesh by moving around inside the mesh. The smoke visualization can be also performed with the present program to visualize the smoke behavior in the case of fire simulation. The examples of the program execution are given in paper.

  • A captive trajectory simulation (CTS) system is used to investigate the separation behavior of the store model by moving the model to an arbitrary pose and position based on aerodynamic data. A CTS system operated inside a wind tunnel is designed to match the structure of the wind tunnel facility. As a result, each CTS system has different kinematic structure, and inverse kinematic analysis of the system is necessary. In this study, kinematic/inverse kinematic analysis for the CTS system with functional redundancy is performed. Inverse kinematic analysis with combined numerical and analytical approach is especially proposed. The suggested approach utilizes the redundancy to improve the safety of the system, and has advantages in real time analysis.

Wave propagation in functionally graded composite cylinders reinforced by aggregated carbon nanotube

  • This work reports wave propagation in the nanocomposite cylinders that reinforced by straight single-walled carbon nanotubes based on a mesh-free method. Moving least square shape functions have been used for approximation of displacement field in weak form of motion equation. The straight carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are assumed to be oriented in specific or random directions or locally aggregated into some clusters. In this simulation, an axisymmetric model is used and also the volume fractions of the CNTs and clusters are assumed to be functionally graded along the thickness. So, material properties of the carbon nanotube reinforced composite cylinders are variable and estimated based on the Eshelby-Mori-Tanaka approach. The effects of orientation, aggregation and volume fractions of the functionally graded clusters and CNTs on dynamic behavior of nanocomposite cylinders are studied. This study results show that orientation and aggregation of CNTs have significant effects on the effective stiffness and dynamic behaviors.
