Gaze Differences between Expert and Novice Teachers in Science Classes

  • This study aims to investigate the gaze patterns of two expert and two novice teachers in one hour of lecture type class. Teachers recruited from the same middle school conducted the class each, wearing an eye-tracker. Gaze rate and gaze movement pattern were analyzed. The scene where teachers faced in the classroom was categorized into three zones; student zone, material zone, and non-teaching zone. Student zone was divided into nine areas of interest to see the gaze distribution within the student zone. Expert teachers showed focused gaze on student zone while novice teachers' gaze rate was significantly higher at the non-teaching zone, compared to expert teachers' one. Within student zone, expert teachers' gaze spread to the rear areas, but novice teachers' one was narrowly resided in the middle areas of the student zone. This difference in gaze caused different eye movement pattern: experts' T pattern and novices' I pattern. On the other hand, both teacher groups showed the least gaze rate onto the left and right front areas. Which change is required to teachers' gaze behavior and what must be considered in order to make effective teacher gaze in the classroom setting were discussed.

가가(Gaga)의 사례를 통한 무용콘텐츠의 다양한 활용 가능성 (Various Applicabilities on Dance Contents through Cases of Gaga)

  • 본 연구에서는 오하드 나하린이 고안한 움직인 언어인 가가(Gaga)의 활용사례를 분석하여 무용콘텐츠의 다양한 활용 가능성을 제시하려는데 그 목적이 있다. 본 연구에서는 연구자의 워크샵 참여를 토대로 현재 운영되고 있는 가가 무브먼트(Gaga Movement Ltd.)의 자료인 가가 피플 홈페이지와 무용잡지, 학위논문을 연구의 자료로 사용하였다. 연구한 결과, Gaga는 무용예술의 원형을 유지하면서, 공연예술콘텐츠, 교육콘텐츠, 여행콘텐츠로 활용된 사례를 발견할 수 있었다. 공연예술콘텐츠에서는 무용작품 내의 움직임을 진화시키고, 관객과의 거리를 좁히며 직접적인 소통을 가능하게 하였다. 전문무용교육콘텐츠로는 가가 댄서스(Gaga/Dancers)가 있었고, 생활무용교육콘텐츠로는 가가피플(Gaga/people)이 있었다. 마지막으로 사막에서의 가가(Gaga in Desert)에서는 가가(Gaga)가 사막이라는 지역적 특징과 결합하여 여행콘텐츠로도 활용되었다. 이러한 성과를 이룬 데에는 가가 무브먼트(Gaga Movement Ltd.)의 비즈니스 방식에 주목할 필요가 있다. 무엇보다 무용가들은 스스로의 무용예술의 성취는 물론 자신의 무용예술을 사회에 환원하려는 태도를 통해 무용예술이 다양한 콘텐츠로의 변모를 가능하게 하여 사회의 문화를 풍요롭게 할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

이단 평행봉 차오르기 동작의 운동학적 분석 (A Kinematic Analysis of Glide Kip Motion on the Uneven Bars)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the kinematic variables of glide kip motion on the uneven bars through a two-dimensional cinematography. Three expert female gymnastics players were involved in the data gathering process. The followings were concluded according to the results. The arm, trunk and leg segments were fully extended throughout the kip movement. The whole body center of gravity showed the biggest changes during 66 to 87% of the kip motion. During the kip phase, the horizontal displacement of the leg was greater than the vertical displacement the leg. Glide kip motion should be done in orders of upward movement of leg, forward movement of leg, upward movement of trunk and forward movement of trunk segment. It was found that trunk segment and hip joint movements showed bigger changes than those of leg segment and shoulder joint in the glide kip motion. The largest angular velocity of hip joint was shown in the middle of the kip Phase. In conclusion, effective kip movement could be resulted when the trunk was displaced posterior-upward direction with fast hip joint extension after the leg segment was elevated upward and thrusted forward in advance.

자발적 단순성지향 생활양식(Voluntary Simplicity Life Style)에 기초한 환경운동의 방향 (A Direction of the Environmental Movement based on Voluntary Simplicity Life Style)

  • The purpose of this study is to understand the relationship between the environmental movement and voluntary simplicity life style. The results of this study are as follows: First, both voluntary simplicity life style and the environmental movement are concepts which became the center of public interest because of the evil practices appeared in the process of the development of capitalism. Second, the level of consciousness of environment is comparatively high, but the level of the power of execution is comparatively low as a whole. In the case of Korea, people have not yet the mature responsibilities of citizenship. It is very important to enforce different informal educations in order to increase the effectiveness of the environmental movement. Home training based on voluntary simplicity life style is the most important informal education for the purpose of increasing the effectiveness of the environmental movement. Consequently, for the preservation of environment we need to do our best endeavors such as home training based on voluntary simplicity life style, environmental education based on our social and cultural background, and more powerful administrative measures which is administrative support rather than administrative control.

'국민학교'로 들어온 '전(全) 국민의 과학화운동' (The "Pan-National Scientification Movement" in Elementary Schools)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 과학교사에게 오랫동안 요청된 이원화된 업무, 즉 '과학교과수업'과 '교과 외 과학 관련 행사'의 역사적 연원을 밝히는 것이다. 1970년대에는 기초과학 중심의 제3차 교육과정과 기술교육 중심의 과학화운동 사이의 긴장 속에서 국민학교 과학교육이 이루어졌다. 문교부는 과학화운동이 도입되기 전부터 오랫동안 국제기구의 지원을 받아서 탐구 중심의 기초과학교육 정책을 추진하였고, 특히 1973년 제3차 교육과정을 통해서 이를 실현하려고 하였다. 그러던 중 1973년에 '전 국민의 과학화운동'이 정권 차원에서 갑자기 추진되었다. 문교부로서는 갑작스러운 유신정권의 요구를 이미 진행 중이던 제3차 교육과정 속으로 편입해야 하는 상황에 처하게 된 것이다. 이처럼 두 가지 정책에서 비롯된 두 가지 요구가 공존하였기 때문에 이후 초등학교 과학교육 활동은 과학교과수업과 교과 외 과학 관련 행사로 이원화되어 실행되었다. 과학화운동은 교육과정 자체에 직접적인 영향을 미치지는 못하였지만, 학교 현장의 인사조직, 활동 공간, 평가 제도에 변화를 주었다. 국민학교에 과학화운동이라는 거대 프로그램이 도입되면서, 학교 내부의 인사조직을 변화시켜서 '과학주임교사제'가 새롭게 만들어졌고, '과학코너'라는 새로운 공간이 확보되었으며, '과학장제'라는 새로운 제도가 보급된 것이다. 이처럼 과학화운동 자체는 초등교육에 갑작스럽게 도입되었으나 결과적으로는 제3차 교육과정이 목표로 삼았던 탐구 중심 과학교육이 실천되는 데 어느 정도 기여했던 듯하다. 이는 역설적으로 과학화운동의 여파가 일선 교육청과 학교의 '교과 외' 자율적 활동으로 흡수된 것에 기인했다. 과학화운동 자체는 특정 시기의 정부 주도 정책이었지만, 다양한 과학교육종사자들이 오래 준비해 온 제3차 교육과정의 틀을 유지하면서도 긴급한 정부의 요청에 응답하는 방식이 교과 수업과 교과외 과학 활동으로 이원화된 것이었다. 이처럼 1970년대 과학교육현장에서 과학교육종사자들이 능동적으로 대응한 과정을 살펴봄으로써 과학교육계가 현재의 급변하는 환경에 대응할 수 있는 실마리를 얻을 수 있을 것이다.

유아교육시설에서 나타나는 '공간 체험'의 특성에 관한 연구 - 이동 공간을 중심으로 - (A Study on the Spatial Characteristics of 'space experience' in Early Childhood Education Facilities - Focusing on the Movement of the space -)

  • In recent times, education facilities for children have focused on the importance of the "living environment" of children. This is because children have a more sensitive response than adults in their lives. All of the field activities, body movement, and play they go through in their living environment exhibit a great educational effect while promoting their emotional, physical, and mental development; therefore, these are the main priority factors in planning an education facility for children. A space may be deemed to be created by the relationship between objects and the people who perceive them. Also, space cognition may be defined to be made of the perception of a space, integration with experience, and restructuring. Physical factors and visual factors, which are the basic factors composing a space, either play their roles as independent variables in a space or form a relationship through a combination between the factors; thereby, diverse types of space experiences may be created. Space experience may be realized through the "movements" of a user, and a user selectively experiences a space through his/her voluntary movements, while experiencing the space against their will through flexible movements. In particular, space experience through movements has an effect on children in terms of making them feel like having daily exploration, and it also has a positive effect on education. A movement space in which "movements" appear most strongly in an education facility for children connects various nearby spaces, and it also portrays a transfer role. Furthermore, in this space, a variety of space changes can be found; thereby, children are able to have diverse selective space experiences.

메이킹 교육 활성화를 위한 프레임워크 설계 및 메이킹 스페이스 구성 방안 연구 (A Study on the Design of Framework for Activating the Making Education and Constructing of the Making Space)

  • 메이커 운동은 DIY 문화에서 비롯된 오픈소스 메이킹의 일환으로서 정보통신기술의 발달에 따라 하드웨어와 소프트웨어의 결합을 통한 제작 활동을 의미한다. 본 연구에서는 전세계적으로 나타나고 있는 메이커 운동에 대한 현황 및 트렌드를 분석하고 이를 토대로 메이킹 교육의 활성화를 위한 프레임 워크를 설계함으로써 우리나라의 교육과정에서 활용될 수 있는 방안을 모색하였다. 본 연구에서는 메이커 운동 및 메이킹 교육에 대한 현황 및 트렌드를 분석하여 메이킹 문화 확산을 위한 프레임워크를 설계하고. 학교현장에서 적용할 수 있는 학교급별 활용 방안을 나타내었다. 또한, 메이킹 교육을 위하여 학교단위 메이킹 스페이스를 구축할 경우 요구되는 구성방안을 제시하기 위하여 사례를 분석하고 방향을 제시하였다.

  • Currently, school computer education has turned to multimedia education, and the related policies are run by each regional authority of education. School principals and parents show strong interest on computer education and the movement into multimedia education as well. In current school education it also seems that computer use is being integrated into all subjects.

보행동작에 대한 바이오메카닉스적 분석과 비디오의 정성적 분석의 상호관련성 (Relationship between the Biomechanical Analysis and the Qualitative Analysis of Video Software for the Walking Movement)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between the quantitative analysis of biomechanical movement and the qualitative analysis of video software in order to evaluate for the walking movement. The fourteen collegiate students who agreed with the purpose and method of this study participated as subjects. The slow walking and fast walking of the subjects in the place of experiment were photographed, and calculated several mechanical factors. This empirical evidence from the experiment indicated the significant difference(p<.001) between each distant factors of the walking movement for both analyses methods, but there was no statistically significant difference between the spacial factors observed in the experiment. For more detail, no significant difference between the walking ratios that expressed the coordination between stride length and stride frequency was found. The findings also indicated the high coefficient of correlation(over r=.9) which supports higher explanation force for the biomechanical method and the Dartfish video software method. Therefore, if the data was gathered by using the proper experimental method, the video software method could be used just like the quantitative data of biomechanical method.

Effect of Object Manipulation Ability and Basic Movement Ability on Mathematical Ability of Young Children

  • The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between the object ability, basic movement ability, and mathematical ability of young children. Next, through this study, the influence of young children's object manipulation ability and basic movement ability on mathematical ability was investigated. The subjects of this study were 80 children aged 5 years old. As a research tool, the non-mobile movement and mobile movement, the basic movement development test scale, and the young children's picture-mathematical ability test scale were used. This survey was conducted from October 2018 to January 2019. For data analysis, correlation analysis and hierarchical multiple regression analysis were performed using the spss program. As a result of the study, it was found that there was a significant positive correlation between the non-mobile ability, movement ability, object manipulation ability and mathematical ability of young children. It was found that young children's ability to manipulate objects and non-movement abilities had positive effect on their mathematical abilities. The movement ability of young children had both negative and positive effects on mathematical ability, but it was not found to be statistically significant. This study is meaningful in that it investigated the effects of non-mobile movement, mobile movement ability, and object manipulation ability, which are sub-capabilities of basic movement ability, which had not been investigated so far, on the mathematical ability of young children.
