On the Existence of the (2,1) Mother Code of (n,n-1) Convolutional Code ((n,n-1) 길쌈부호에 대한 (2,1) 마더부호의 존재)

  • The rate of the channel code can be controlled by various methods. Puncturing is one of the methods of increasing the code rate, and the original code before puncturing is called the mother code. Any (n,k) convolutional code is obtainable by puncturing some mother codes, and the process of finding the mother code is necessary for designing the optimum channel decoder. In this paper, we proved that any (n,n-1) convolutional code has (2,1) mother codes regardless of the puncturing pattern and showed that they must be equivalent.

  • Puncturing is the most common way of increasing the rate of convolutional codes. The puncturing process is done to the original code called the mother code by a specific puncturing pattern. In this article, we investigate into the question whether any convolutional code is obtainable by puncturing some (n, 1) mother codes. We present two sufficient conditions for the mother code and the puncturing pattern to satisfy in order that the punctured code is equivalent to the given (N, K) convolutional code.

  • Turbo Code is one of the most useful and powerful channel coding technique. It is adopted in radio transmission of IMT-2000, both CDMA2000 and W-CDMA system. The performance of this code depends on many parameters such as encoder memory size, free distance of codewords, interleaver size, number of decoding iteration, and so on. This paper describes a Multi-Stage Interleaver which is used in Turbo Codes for W-CDMA channel coding. We compare the performance of a Multi-Stage Interleaver with that of Mother Interleaver. The simulation results show that Multi-Stage Interleaver performs better than Mother Interleaver in bit error rate from $10^{-3}$ to $10^{-6}$.

Investigation on the shock-induced rocket separation from the mother plane (충격파에 의한 비정상 모선분리 현상 연구)

  • This paper describes a supersonic separation of air-launching rocket from the mother plane. Three dimensional Euler equations were numerically solved to analyze steady/unsteady state fluid flows. To solve the Euler equations, named CFD-FASTRAN that is commercial computation code. The results of simulation clearly demonstrate effect of shock-expansion wave interaction between the rocket and the mother plane. Moreover, important influential factors at separating stage of the rocket were extracted with a comprehensive analysis. Finally, from the consideration of supersonic-separation, a guideline to safety-separation is given to the design of supersonic air-launching rocket.

  • In this paper, we presented a new interference suppression method based on code grouping and groupwise decorrelation for multirate DS-CDMA downlink. The code grouping is accomplished according to the correlation property between the mother code and the child codes in OVSF code tree. Using groupwise decorrelation, the proposed receiver has relatively low computational complexity and does not require any information about interference users, such as code, data, and amplitude. From the simulation results in multipath channels, the proposed receiver is to provide significant performance enhancement.

  • We consider the challenges of finding good puncturing patterns for rate-compatible low-density parity-check code (LDPC) codes over additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channels. Puncturing is a scheme to obtain a series of higher rate codes from a lower rate mother code. It is widely used in channel coding but it causes performance is lost compared to non-punctured LDPC codes at the same rate. Previous work, considered the role of survived check nodes in puncturing patterns. Limitations, such as single survived check node assumption and simulation-based verification, were examined. This paper analyzes the performance according to the role of multiple survived check nodes and multiple dead check nodes. Based on these analyses, we propose new algorithm to find a good puncturing pattern for LDPC codes over AWGN channels.

  • In this paper, we suggest a new technique for WPC parity-check matrix (H-matrix) generation and a corresponding decoding process. The key idea is to construct WPC H-matrix by using a convolutional encoder. It is easy to have many different coderates from a mother code with convolutional codes. However, it is difficult to have many different coderates with LDPC codes. Constructing LDPC Hmatrix based on a convolutional code can easily bring the advantage of convolutional codes to have different coderates. Moreover, both LDPC and convolutional decoding algorithms can be applied altogether in the decoding part. This process prevents the performance degradation of short-length WPC code.

  • The purpose of this paper was the analysis of Buddhistic views of fertilization, abortion and birth referred to in the Code of Buddhism. The findings of my analysis of the allusions of the Code are as follows. 1. Modern science holds the view that in fertilization the spermatozoom and the ovum are the essential factors, while the Buddhistic view is that here must be the entry of a reincarnated soul ( 中有 ; jung-yu) into fertilization. 2. In Buddhism, fertilization is regarded as the giving of a new life and the receiving a life which consists of the sufferings, both physical and mental in nature, of the individual to be born. 3. Artificial abortion in any case is stictly prohibited because it is regarded as taking life. 4. Birth perse is assumed to consist of suffering for both the mother and the child itself. Therefore, these are analogous to the perinatoloty of modern science.

  • Practical communication systems need to operate at various different rates. This paper describes and analyzes low-density parity check codes for various different rates. From a specific mother code, it allows LDPC codes for different rate. The advantage of this technique is that each different rate LDPC codes have a same block length as mother code though the rate changes so it can make up for the weak points of puncturing and shortening which reduce their block length as the rate changes. Row-splitting method is to split the row, so that the rate changes from a higher rate to lower rate and cause of its own property, it can overcome the defect of row-combining method.

  • This study is aiming to present administrative guiding principles and suggestions to find methods to improve and bring up the ethic code of business of aligned companies, by examining how the factors of union of relations depending on characteristics of business, influence outcome of aligned companies, under the circumstances where efforts to improve outcome of aligned company through dealing relation between a mother company and the aligned company. First of all, as a result of analyzing how the characteristics of business have an influence on the relational union, it is shown that characteristics of product, peculiar assets of business, and opportunistic dispositive factors have an influence on reliance and devotion which are relation uniting factors. Under the actively changing circumstances, in order that the manufacturing companies can have a competitiveness, it can be said that shortening of developing period of new products, reduction of manufacturing and operating cost, and improvement of quality and productivity are compulsory factors. This can be achieved by having close relations with aligned companies which provide with parts and materials. As a result of analyzing how relational uniting factors like reliance and devotion influence business outcome of aligned companies. it is found that both reliance and devotion influence administrative outcome, although it is shown that they do not influence economic results such as reduction of cost. Therefore, it can be said that the mutual cooperation is required to increase mutual reliance and devotion, since increase of reliance and devotion are compulsory factors for efficient development of companies where a mother company and the aligned companies coexist, since they ease uncertainty in dealings, and devise administrative outcome.
