  • This paper aims at developing remote contro system to control and monitor distributed various devices through internet or information communication network. SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) and rectifier operated in a row are adopted for network management protocol and applied device, respectively. For controlling and monitoring distributed devices in real-time java-environment software is constructed. Also general-use interface controller between network device and applied device is proposed. Finally, seria communication such as RS-232 and RS-485 is used between controller and applied device.

  • This paper aims at developing remote control system to control and monitor distributed various devices through internet or information communication network. SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) and UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) are adopted for network management protocol and applied device, respectively. For controlling and monitoring distributed devices in real-time, Java-environment software is constructed. Also, general-use interface controller between network device and applied device is proposed. Finally, serial communication such as RS-232 and RS-485 is used between controller and applied device.

  • The real-time monitoring and controlling between the interior and the field signaling security devices is a necessity for the train safety in terms of the train operating plan. The type wiring lower the safety level of signaling security device, because too much wiring makes the maintenance more difficult and it might be have a problem of an induction field and contact. It also need high cost. The single network communication(Fieldbus) does not need that much wiring, and the maintenance will be easier. It also guarantee the high level of stability.

  • 최근, 모바일 분야의 급성장으로 고성능 스마트폰의 보급과 함께 이들을 단말기로 활용할 수 있는 사례가 늘어나고 있다. 또한, ZigBee 기술은 저전력 무선 네트워킹에 기반하여 다양한 기기들을 네트워크로 연결하고 이들의 모니터링 및 제어가 가능하게 하였다. 본 논문은 스마트폰과 ZigBee 네트워크 기술을 이용하여 원격으로 모니터링하고 제어할 수 있는 시스템을 제안한다.

  • In this paper, we designed a sensor network using zigbee for controlling and monitoring semiconductor equipments. Unlike general kinds of sensor networks, it is important to preferential send emergency data to the control server. Therefore, we proposed a MAC protocol which consider the priority for the urgency data handling.

Current Status and Prospective of Hazardous VOC in Ambient Air (환경대기 중 유해성 VOC 측정에 관한 동향과 전망)

  • In this article, we reviewed the monitoring status of hazardous VOC in ambinet air in Korea and some developed countries such as USA, Japan, and UK. In many countries, two types of VOC monitoring stations are being operated, i.e., for hazardous VOC and photochemical VOC. Each country has different target VOC but all includes benzene. Korea, Japan, and UK have a national ambient air quality standard for benzene, but no national standard has been established in the USA. For sampling of the hazardous VOC, the adsorbent method is adopted in Korea and UK, while the canister method is used in the USA. Both of adsorbent and canister methods are used in Japan. USA and UK have only non-automatic method to measure the hazardous VOC, and the individual samples are being sent to their national laboratories for integrated analysis. On the other hand, Korea and Japan have automatic and nonautomatic methods to measure the hazardous VOC. Local governments or regional environmental agencies in Korea and Japan have the authorization for the sampling and analysis of VOC. According to a field study to evaluate the performance of automatic VOC monitoring system, controlling the moisture in the air sample was identified as the most important problem. However, careful attention must be given to using a moisture removing device such as Nafyon dryer, because of unexpected artifacts formation. In order to have reliable data, it is highly recommended not only to use internal standards, but to use appropriate hydrophobic adsorbents as a cold trap in any automatic on-line VOC monitoring system.

  • The digital instrumentation and control system for the large scale system like the power plant must have the form of the heirachical structure. Because most large scale system have many control and process signals and it is distributed in the vade region, it is necessary to partition them into several subsystems. Therefore, the role of SCS(Supervisory Control System) having the functions of controlling and monitoring for the status of subsystems is very important. In this paper, new SCS for the effective control of the large scale system is proposed.

  • This study examines a normative model of project management systems, PPMS, to provide information for directing R&D activity in order to increase R&D productivity. The PPMS (Project Process Management System) is a disciplined and systematic framework to manage R&D projects effectively and efficiently under the assumption of a strategic decision making and long-range planning. The purpose of PPMS is to provide for the management of research organization at different levels an effective management tool; first, for the planning system which deals with rational selection and authorization of R&D projects, second, for the control system which concerns monitoring and controlling the execution of R&D projects, and finally, for the evaluation system which attains evaluation of the performance results of R&D projects and determination of the necessary follow-up. A view for the future development of project management within the context of a project-performing organization is also elaborated to exhibit the progress and phase description of the project management system.

  • It is anticipated that quality assurance for the Ka band Communication Payload System(COPS) development program of the communication, Ocean & Meteorological Satellite(COMS) may be a core technical factor to be concerned in order to avoid any failure, and to assure its final performance during the mission lifetime in space. Those can be managed and verified and assessed by performing the Quality Assurance (QA) and risk management which helps to prevent and to reduce the critical fails. This paper introduces the Product Assurance (PA) system and procedures for controlling and monitoring sub-contractors which were participated in Ka band Communication Payload System (COPS) development. Also this paper shows Quality Assurance (QA) procedures and detailed their processes for assured the product performed by local companies from site survey for selecting companies to delivery of their equipment.

  • This research is an experimental work of investigating the behavior of soil nailing system under surcharges whereas most of them were concentrated on evaluating its capacity under selfweight of excavated ground. Model tests in laboratory were performed to investigate the ultimate bearing capacity of soil nailing system under surcharges in forms of strip loading. Tests were carried out to find parameters controlling its capacity such as length of nail, vertical and horizontal spacings between nails, inclination of nail installation, and loading position of surcharges. Failure mechanism of forming failure line due to surcharge to soil nailing system was also observed by using dyed sand and monitoring its behavior. From results of these test, effects of parameters was analyzed qualitatively. Thus, this experimental results could provide meaningful data to analyze and design this system later.
