  • The final goal of ITS and ETC will be to improve the traffic efficiency and mobile safety without new road construction. DSRC system is emerging nowadays as a solution of them. China DSRC standard which was released in May 2007 has low bit rate, short message and simple MAC control. The DSRC system users want a long lifetime over 1 year with just one battery. In this paper, we propose the SoC of very low power consumption architecture. Several digital logic concept and analog power control logics were used for very low power consumption. The SoC operation mode and clock speed, operation voltage range, wakeup signal detector, analog comparator and Internal Voltage Regulator & External Power Switch were designed. We confirmed that the SoC power consumption is under 8.5mA@20Mhz, 0.9mA@1Mhz in active mode, and under 5uA in power down mode, by computer simulation. The design of SoC was finished on Aug. 2008, and fabricated on Nov. 2008 with $0.18{\mu}m$ CMOS process.

  • This paper presents the results of research on developing marine unified communications to provide VoIP service based on marine satellites. With the recent popularity of smart-phones and other mobile devices, the demand for Internet-based wired and wireless unified technology has been growing in marine environments, and increasing interest is being directed to VoIP products and service models with high price competitiveness and the ability to deliver a variety of services. In this regard, this research designed three instruments, developed their unit modules, and verified their performances. These three instruments included the following: (1) a marine VoIP module equipped with an analogue gateway that can be linked to the existing devices used in vessels, which is more than 80% smaller than that of a land system; (2) a text/voice/video engine for marine satellite communications that runs on technology that minimizes communication data usage, which is a core technology for a marine VoIP service; and (3) a unified communication service that can support multilateral cloud-based message conversations, telephone number-based call functions, and voice/video calling between a private space in a ship and shore.

  • In the Cluster-Based Routing Protocol (CBRP) a cluster header in each cluster should be elected. The cluster headers consume energy much more than other nodes because they manage and operate all of mobile nodes in their cluster. The traditional CBRP elects a cluster header without considering the remaining electric energy of each node. So, there exists problems that the cluster header has short average lifetime, and another cluster header should be elected again frequently. In this paper, we propose the improved protocol which prolongs the lifetime of the cluster header, decreases of header re-elected problem, decreases of header re-elected problem and enhances the stability of the path. In order to achieve this, when a cluster header is elected in a cluster, the remaining electric energies of all the nodes are compared with one another, and the node with the highest energy is elected as the cluster header. Also, the node with the second highest energy is elected as the second header. If the elected cluster header is unable to perform the role of the cluster header because the remaining energy level goes low, it sends a beacon message to neighbor member nodes and the second header will serve as the cluster header.

  • Machine to Machine (M2M) communications is communications between a business application and devices via a communication network without any direct human interaction. The aim of our research is to connect any M2M device with an M2M AS (Application server) through an IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) Network Core using a M2M Gateway, in order to develop an M2M Horizontal Services Platform over IMS. An IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) is an architectural framework defined by the wireless standards body of the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) for delivering IP multimedia services to mobile users. This paper shows the design and implementation of a Horizontal M2M Network Services Platform over an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) using the Message Session Relay Protocol (MSRP). We summarize the protocols and architectures that formed the basis for the creation of our architecture. We provide a detailed description of our architecture design, describing the call flow of the proposed architecture and the entities operating in each process. We also describe the design and implementation process detailing the different tools used, explaining the selection of each component and its importance; also how we designed and implemented the M2M gateway, M2M Application Server, Open IMS Core, business application and M2M devices.

  • In the network management system, there are two approaches; the centralized approach based on SNMP and the distributed approach based on mobile agent. Some information changes with time and the manager needs to monitor its value in real time. In such a case, the polling is generally used in SNMP because the manager can query agents periodically. However, the polling scheme needs both request and response messages for management information every time, which results in network traffic increase. In this paper, we suggest an adaptive network monitoring method to reduce the network traffic for SNMP-based network management. In the proposed strategy, each agent first decides its on monitoring period. Then, the manager collects them and approves each agent's period without modification or adjusts it based on the total traffic generated by monitoring messages. After receiving response message containing monitoring period from the manager, each agent sends management information periodically without the request of manager. To evaluate performance of the proposed method, we implemented it and compared the network traffic and monitoring quality of the proposed scheme with the general polling method.

  • When developing an android mobile application the androids intent is used as a mechanism to send messages between local equipment of androids application inner part and other applications. But the androids intent does not support sending messages via each android products intent. If there is a way to support each androids equipments to send messages, it will be easier to make non-stopping services. Non-stopping service is used when the user is using the android to do word or searching services and suddenly changes to a different android product but still maintains the progress what was currently being done without waiting the programs to be loaded. It is possible to send messages to each android products by using the socket, but the connection must be maintained stably which is the weak point. In this paper, I am suggesting a BRIF(Broadcasting Remote Intent Framework) framework to send messages to different android products. BRIF is a framework that uses the Googles C2DM service which services asynchronous transmissions to different android products. This is organized with the C2DM server, RemoteContext Api, web server and RISP(Remote Intent Service Provider) which is will be easy to be used for the developers since there are no big changes for coding compared to the intent code.

  • With the enhancements in existing major industries, cloud computing-based converging services have been created, as well as value-added industries. A variety of converging services are now provided, from personalized services up to industrial services. In Korea, they have become the driving force behind existing industries throughout the whole economy, but mainly in finance, mobile systems, social computing, and home services, based on cloud services. However, not only denial of service (DOS) and distributed DOS (DDOS) attacks have occurred, but also attack techniques targeting core data in storage servers. Even security threats that are hardly detected, such as multiple attacks on a certain target, APT, and backdoor penetration have also occurred. To supplement defenses against these, in this article, a protocol for authority management is designed to provide users with safe storage services. This protocol was studied in cases of integration between a cloud environment and big data-based technology, security threats, and their requirements. Also studied were amalgamation examples and their requirements in technology-based cloud environments and big data. With the protocol suggested, based on this, security was analyzed for attack techniques that occur in the existing cloud environment, as well as big data-based techniques, in order to find improvements in session key development of approximately 55%.

  • This paper proposes geographical name denoising by machine learning of event detection based on twitter. Recently, the increasing number of smart phone users are leading the growing user of SNS. Especially, the functions of short message (less than 140 words) and follow service make twitter has the power of conveying and diffusing the information more quickly. These characteristics and mobile optimised feature make twitter has fast information conveying speed, which can play a role of conveying disasters or events. Related research used the individuals of twitter user as the sensor of event detection to detect events that occur in reality. This research employed geographical name as the keyword by using the characteristic that an event occurs in a specific place. However, it ignored the denoising of relationship between geographical name and homograph, it became an important factor to lower the accuracy of event detection. In this paper, we used removing and forecasting, these two method to applied denoising technique. First after processing the filtering step by using noise related database building, we have determined the existence of geographical name by using the Naive Bayesian classification. Finally by using the experimental data, we earned the probability value of machine learning. On the basis of forecast technique which is proposed in this paper, the reliability of the need for denoising technique has turned out to be 89.6%.
