  • In order to ensure the wireless connectivity and seamless service to mobile users, the next generation network system will be an integration of multiple wireless access networks. In a heterogeneous wireless access system, bandwidth allocation becomes crucial for load balancing to avoid network congestion and improve system utilization efficiency. In this article, we propose a new dynamic bandwidth allocation scheme for hierarchical wireless network systems. First, we derive a multi-objective decision criterion for each access point. Second, a bargaining strategy selection algorithm is developed for the dynamic bandwidth re-allocation. Based on the intervenient Stackelberg game model, the proposed scheme effectively formulates the competitive interaction situation between several access points. The system performance of proposed scheme is evaluated by using extensive simulations. With a simulation study, it is confirmed that the proposed scheme can achieve better performance than other existing schemes under widely diverse network environments.

  • In this paper, the results of experiments conducted in indoor wired and outdoor wireless environments to reduce the interference impact of 5G mobile communication on fixed satellite services using RF Interference Reduction Module (IRM) are presented. Test results for interference signals with a 100MHz bandwidth in a wired environment demonstrate that RF IRM can reduce interference by more than 20dB in a 100MHz bandwidth. The performance of RF IRM was also tested in the S-band wireless environments. In the S-band wireless environments with interference signals having a 20MHz bandwidth, RF IRM exhibits interference reduction performance of 12-15dB, for signals with a 50MHz bandwidth, it shows 10-12dB interference reduction, and for signals with a 100MHz bandwidth, it demonstrates 5-10dB interference reduction. This paper shows that RF IRM can be used not only within transceivers but also in wireless environments to mitigate interference.

  • While the Internet keeps its permeation into every aspect of human life, two things stand out. One is the requirement for high quality of services to support multimedia data service.'The other is the desire for ubiquitous network connection. Combining the two things makes the Internet possible in supporting multimedia communications for nomadic users on the locomotion. To support QoS communication for mobile users by applying RSVP to Mobile IP, RSVP Tunnel, which specifies building separately a RSVP session between the home agent and the foreign agent, was proposed. However, the RSVP Tunnel method breeds bandwidth overhead and association problems in tunnel because of duplicated RSVP messages use. To resolve these problems, in this paper, we propose the new encapsulation method, the RSVP-in-IP Encapsulation (RIPE) that can support QoS guaranteed service efficicntly in Mobile IP networks. The proposed method supports RSVP mobility to Mobile If tunneling mechanism efficiently without any additional session as the RSVP Tunnel scheme. Moreover it removes the critical problems of bandwidth overhead in a tunnel and association by duplicated messages. We compared the performance of our proposed scheme with RSVP Tunnel scheme in term of mean delay, mean data rate and bandwidth overhead in tunnel.

  • An e-business client application in ubiquitous mobile computing environment may become disconnected from the enterprise server due to broken communication connections caused by the limitation of mobile computing environments(limited battery life of the mobile device, low bandwidth communication, incomplete wireless communication infrastructure, etc). It Is even Possible that mobile client application Intentionally operates in disconnected mode to reduce communication cost and the power consumption of the mobile device. We use “data hoarding” as a means of providing local autonomy to allow transactions to be processed and committed on the mobile host despite of disconnection. The key problem to this approach is the synchronization problem that serialize potentially conflicting updates from disconnected clients on master objects of the server database. In this paper, we present a new transaction synchronizing method that splits a transaction into a set of independent component transactions and give the synchronization priority on each component taking the possibility of use and conflicts in the server into consideration. Synchronization is performed component by component based un synchronization priority. After the Preferred component of a no bile transaction succeeds in synchronization with the server, the mobile transaction can pre-commit at server. A pre-committed transaction's updated value is made visible at server before the final commit of the transaction. The synchronization of the component with low synchronization priority can be delayed in adaption to wireless bandwidth and computing resources. As a result, the availability of important data updated by mobile client is increased and it can maximize the utilization of the limited wireless bandwidth and computing resources.

  • In the future mobile computing environment, it will be generalized that a mobile host with portable Laptop of Palmtop accesses to database through wireless communication channel. For solving the problems which are caused from low bandwidth of wireless communication, mobile hosts cache the datum used frequently on them. Thus the mobile hosts must always retain the cache consistency for the correctness of the cached datum. the cache consistency is mainly affected from the unrestricted host mobility and the disconnection of the communication between mobile hosts and mobile support station. In this situation, the strategy to retain efficiently cache consistency is required. In this paper, we propose a strategy using updatable message for retaining the cache consistency, in the mobile computing environment, with replicated database supporting 2 phase commit protocol. This strategy makes use of a updatable message to resolve the cache consistency problem, since mobile host crosses the boundary of cell. In using of this updatable, it find out and cache only the update data of missing invalidation message. As a result, the proposed strategy utilizes network bandwidth efficiently because it is not need to delete all the cached datum with any datum change.

  • Vibrotactile actuators for small consumer electronic products, such as mobile devices, have been widely used for conveying haptic sensation to users. One of the most important things in vibrotactile actuators is to be developed in the form of thin actuator which can be easily embedded into mobile devices and to provide vibrotactile signals with wide frequency band to users. Thus, this paper proposes a thin film type haptic actuator with an aim to convey vibrotactile information with high frequency bandwidth to users in mobile devices. To this end, a vibrotactile actuator which creates haptic sensation is designed and constructed based on cellulose acetate material. A cellulose acetate material charged with an electric potential can generate vibration under the AC voltage input. It is found that the motion of the actuator can have concave or convex shape by controlling a polarity of both charged membranes and the actuator performance can be modulated by increasing level of biased electric potential. The experiment clearly shows that the proposed actuator creates enough output force to stimulate human skin with a large frequency bandwidth and to simulate various vibrotactile sensations to users.

  • Modern applications such as augmented reality, connected vehicles, video streaming and gaming have stringent requirements on latency, bandwidth and computation resources. The explosion in data generation by mobile devices has further exacerbated the situation. Mobile Edge Computing (MEC) is a recent addition to the edge computing paradigm that amalgamates the cloud computing capabilities with cellular communications. The concept of MEC is to relocate the cloud capabilities to the edge of the network for yielding ultra-low latency, high computation, high bandwidth, low burden on the core network, enhanced quality of experience (QoE), and efficient resource utilization. In this paper, we provide a comprehensive overview on different traits of MEC including its use cases, architecture, computation offloading, security, economic aspects, research challenges, and potential future directions.

  • As the degree of use of network is increasing the need for building the basic of the stable network service is being needed a lot. Also the engineers require the traffic control for the best application and management and bandwidth management urgently. To solve these problems, there were no other ways of increasing the bandwidth of lines until now. However, this solution has the limit that the cost is too high and the traffic problem is growing continuously. On this study, it is suggested that through the planning the wired /wireless combination network design offering the service of QoS, Multicast, Mobile, realtime multimedia traffic delay without packet loss will be dealth with.

  • According to the rapid advance of computer and communication techniques, the request of mobile internet services is highly increasing. However, the main obstacles for mobile vector map service environments, are large data volume and narrow wireless bandwidth. Among the many possible solutions, spatial data compression technique may contribute to reduce the load of bandwidth and client response time. This thesis proposes two methods for spatial data compression. The one is relative coordinates transformation method, and the other is client coordinates transformation method. And, this thesis also proposes the system architecture for experiments. The two compression methods could be evaluated the compression effect and the response time.
