Concepts presented by middle school students were analyzed through semantic network analysis (SNA). The conclusions of this study are as follows: first, in order to make middle school students interested in science, an inquiry-centered experiment class should be conducted. Second, the change of class by science teacher can change it into preferred science class. Third, student-centered classes should be conducted according to the level so that students can understand. Finally, science teachers continue to strive through communication between science teachers and students, and students and students, and look forward to changes in science classes through this.

  • The current status of in-service teacher development shows that teachers' awareness can be enhanced through critical reflection. This study shows how an English teacher improved her own teaching situation through action research. It reports back the action research the teacher-researcher carried out in the EFL classroom setting. Aiming to improve the pupils' English speaking ability, the teacher introduced 'Task-based Language Teaching (TBLT)' to the English class. The teacher and the pupils took part in the evaluation process of learning and teaching. It was found that the new approach to teaching speaking helped the pupils improve speaking ability and take an active role in learning process. It is further suggested that teacher-initiated action research can be done in collaboration with colleagues, administrators and researchers.

  • This study examines the effects of mindfulness training on job stress, burnout, and teacher efficacy for middle school and high school teachers. For this study, twenty-four middle school and high school teachers were divided into experimental and control groups. Data analysis was performed using a Mixed ANOVA for teacher's job stress, burnout, and teacher efficacy according to pre-training, post-training and delayed post-training periods. As a result, we found support for time interval and between-group interaction effects for all the dependent variables. In order to investigate any delayed effects, a t-test was performed to analyze measurements taken one month after the completion of training period. The delayed post-training results indicated a significant effect between pre and post scores, meaning the program effects were sustained. Therefore, this study indicates that the mindfulness training program implemented in this research is an effective method for preventing job stress and burnout, as well as influencing the efficiency of work performance for middle school and high school teachers.
