The characteristics of the Si-SiO$_2$ interface and the degradation in the short channel(L${\times}$W=1.7$\mu\textrm{m}$${\times}$15$\mu\textrm{m}$) SONOSFET nonvolatile memory devices, fabricated on the basis of the existing n-well CMOS processing technology for 1 Mbit DRAM with the 1.2$\mu\textrm{m}$ m design rule, were investigated using the charge pumping method. The SONOSFET memories have the tripple insulated-gate consisting of 30${\AA}$ tunneling oxide 205${\AA}$ nitride and 65${\AA}$ blocking oxide, The acceleration method which square voltage pulses of t$\_$p/=10msec, Vw=+19V and V$\_$E/=-22V continue to be alternatly applied to gale, was used to investigate the degradation of SONOSFET memories with the write/erase cycle. The degradation characteristics were ascertained by observing the change in the energy and spatial distributions of the interface trap density.

The objective of this paper is to accommodate the existing motion-capture-based animation to small memories and low computing powers of mobile embedded systems. To use efficiently memories, we propose a paradigm in which a motion capture database is compressed on a PC and so-compressed motion capture database is decompressed little by little on mobile embedded systems and the decompressed data are eliminated right after used. As a compression method for this paradigm we propose an approach that compresses captured motion rendering parameters using a polynomial function fitting method. To enhance its performance we also propose an optimization method for the degree of the polynomial fitting function. Using so-obtained compression method we demonstrate motion-capture-based animation on commercial mobile embedded systems.

The switching and the retention characteristics with the injection conditions(pulse height and pulse width) were investigated in the nonvolatile MNOS memories with thin oxide layer of $23{\AA}$ thick. The shift of flatband voltage was measured using the fast ramp C-V method and experimental results were analized using the previously developed models. It was shown that the experimental results were described quit well by the trap-assisted and modified Fowler-Nordheim tunneling models for the voltage pulse of $15V{\sim}19V,\;24V{\sim}25V$, respectively. However, the direct tunneling model was agreement with experimental values in all range of pulse height. As increasing the initial shift of the flatband voltage, the decay rate was increased. But for the same initial shift of the flatband voltage, the decay rate was smaller for low and long pulse than for high and short one.

'Memory discourse' takes an important role in the paradigm shift of archival science. Memory points to the limitation of 'records as evidence' that had been assumed to be representable and redefines the record as an infinite interpretable medium by captured memory. Now, recordkeeping are given a new question as 'what world to remember' beyond 'how to remember the world' between 'visible' records and 'invisible' memories. And, the power of memory's personal, present, and everyday aspect is linked to the argument that the keeping of memory and records itself can take a social justice role. In this article, we examine the western archival science's memory discourse landscape comprehensively and reconstruct it to examine the possibility of memories' social justice or archival justice.

Keeping in mind the hybridity and plurality of Southern Literature, this paper discusses the traits of Southern literature in Jayne Ann Phillips's first novel, Machine Dream. The novel's frequent use of memory and oral reconstruction of a family history accompanied by the feeling of loss in the process of depicting the South's past typically signifies "The Southern" which reminds us of the works of William Faulkner, Katherine Ann Porter, and Eudora Welty. Nevertheless, Phillips's South is more fragmented and her narrative is more evasive and varied than any of her Southern predecessors. The South of the twentieth century from the period of Depression until 1972 is reconstructed differently depending on memories and desires of the four members of Hampson family in this novel, either as a place of nostalgia or as the place of trauma or as the place to survive only in memory. The oxymoronic title of the novel, "machine dreams" signifies that dream and memory of the South cannot remain independent in its epistemological entity but exist as a mixture of materiality of every day life in the modern South. The hybridity of this dream and of the South is what defines itself as Southern. Yet Phillips retains feeling of loss and lament enough to create a modern Southern novel rooted in Southern Literature. Thus, the title itself works an antinomic signifier of both the presence and absence of the dream of the South and of Southern Literature.

Scratchpad memory is a software-controlled on-chip memory designed and used to mitigate the disadvantages of existing cache memories. Existing cache memories have TAG-related hardware control logic, so users cannot directly control cache misses, and their sizes are large and energy consumption is relatively high. Scratchpad memory has advantages in terms of size and energy consumption because it eliminates such hardware overhead, but there is a burden on software to manage data. In this study, data management techniques of scratchpad memory were classified and examined, and ways to maximize the advantages were discussed.

Since 2006, heated debates have taken place on both sides of the Pacific over the historical accuracy of Yoko Kawashima Watkins's So Far from the Bamboo Grove, the "historical novel" that depicts the author's painful escape from the just-liberated Korean peninsula to Japan. This study re-visits the controversies that fired up not only the whole Korean society but also not a few Americans and the American press. However, unlike most previous Korean studies on this novel, this study mostly focuses on both the responses of Korean feminists and those of Americans and the American press to the issue. This paper argues that the Korean feminists, who criticized their male compatriots for their feverish reaction, have the same problem as their compatriots, that is, the problem of seeing through a binary perspective that drowns or blurs individual differences. A similar framework is found operating in the Boston Globe's articles on the same issue. This study proceeds to discuss the pitfalls of liberalism underlying the American parents' and the American civil organizations' defence of Watkins and analyzes their poor historical awareness. The conclusion of this study is that So Far from the Bamboo Grove, dictated by an ideological prolepsis, erroneously inscribes the Cold War in the geographical space of the pre-Cold-War Korean peninsula and, as a result, symptomatically participates in the United States' anti-Communist world view.

This paper proposes a scheme for NAND flash memories equipped with on-chip microcontrollers and instruction ROM, that enables patching of erroneous cell array operation instructions after manufacturing. The scheme incorporates a small patch instruction RAM, where the patching instructions are fetched using a configurable Program Counter (PC) substitution mechanism. Both the patching instructions and PC substitution data are stored in a designated NAND cell area and loaded at power-up along with the electrical fuse data. As the scheme is designed to handle only a small number instruction patches, the area overhead remains minimal.

Given that the concept of reproducing landscape is similar to that of recording historical sights, places can become special space where memories are archived through meaningful activities. Therefore, place and landscape are the important concepts for understanding the Home of Roh Moo-hyun. This research was initiated when Roh Moo-hyun Foundation's decided to return the Home of Roh Moo-hyun to the public. A research report was published as the first result of this initiative. Then an archive book was recently published based on the first research report. The research report was about philosophical and aesthetic meanings and contents, the layers of accumulated memories, the records based on the accumulated memories, and the attributes of the place, and the possibility of archiving, whereas the purpose of the archive book is to restore and to curate the original meaning of the Home of Roh Moo hyun through cultural events. There are 'three memories' of layers in the Home of Roh Moo-hyun. The first memory is about 'life and dreams' that President Roh Moo-hyun dreamed about after his retirement to the hometown. The second memory is about 'the loss of time' for 10 years of time after the decrease of the President Roh Moo-hyun. The third memory is 'the memory of citizens', which started with the public opening of the Home of Roh Moo-hyun. 'Low Roof House of President Roh Moo-hyun' is the archive book that comprises the three memories which are accumulated in the home of Roh Moo-hyun and 'record language' full of meanings.

What if the memory is not erased but continues to exist in the head as it was before? The typical answer to this question would be summarized as the "love for memory". It is almost unbearable that the memory is erased, forgotten or replaced with others. Even though three episodes may be understood as separate things, they have a different image when they are seen under one subject . he three episodes impresses the people with their unique fantastic images and artistic air. In the episode of , we can see a woman who is so much concerned with her past memory so that she does not love the present. In this episode, we can realize how much destructive the bad past memory gives effect on a woman and how memory can give bad effect on a person if that does not connect the past and the present. The work criticizes the society whichdoes not understand the current problems by depicting a person who is so preoccupied with the thing near that person only. shows that the dream is meaningless if people have the future dream without understanding what they really want. Theaudience is absorbed to each hero or heroin who is so obsessed with the past, present and future. What we can feel from these three works is the doubt about the human society which is so much preoccupied with the pessimism and the individuals who do not recognize the importance of the present because they are so much obsessed with their superficial past, present and future as well as the society where they live.
