  • The aim of this study was to identify how information media about patient safety incidents influences nursing students' knowledge, perception, and confidence in performance toward patient safety. A total of 337 nursing students agreed to participate in this study. Data were collected from the participants between June 4 and June 12, 2018. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, and Pearson's correlation coefficient with SPSS 21.0. Participants' scores for knowledge, perception, and performance confidence toward patient safety were $6.43{\pm}1.92$, $41.02{\pm}4.35$, and $39.61{\pm}5.89$, respectively. Patient safety knowledge was significantly different according to age, grade, and patient safety education experience. Patient safety perception was significantly different according to satisfaction with the major, patient safety performance confidence showed statistically significant differences according to grade, patient safety education experience, and major satisfaction. Information media exposure to patient safety incidents on TV and knowledge (r=.32, p<.000) and performance confidence (r=.21, p<.000) toward patient safety had positive correlations. Information media exposure to patient safety incidents on the internet and knowledge (r=.34, p<.000), perception (r=.12, p=.028), and performance confidence (r=.24, p<.000) toward patient safety also had positive correlations. This study provides basic data for nursing education and program development for patient safety management.

  • Universities have recognized e-Learning Systems as the critical IT resources which contribute to improving the competitiveness of the universities as well as the quality of the traditional class-based lectures. Instructors deliver the main contents in the class. Other supplementary activities like online discussions, sharing of teaching-learning materials, submission of homeworks, communication among the learners and between the instructors and the learners, and so on can be efficiently facilitated using e-Learning Systems. In other words, e-Learning Systems enable a blended learning combined class-based lectures and e-learning in a variety of ways. Nonetheless, compared to the level of implementation of e-Learning Systems, the usage of both the instructors and the learners is not high. Accordingly, this study examines the determinants to affect on the usage of e-Learning Systems from the learners perspective. To draw the key determinants, we review the IS literatures related to adoption or use of the IS like Media Richness Theory (MRT), Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), Social Influence Model (SIM), and Self-efficacy Model. The variables are drawn out to be expected on the usage of e-Learning like Media Richness, Ease of Use from MRT, TAM and Instructor's Influence, Co-learner's Influence from SIM, and Self-efficacy. To test our model and hypotheses, we have collected data in the class-based lectures using e-Learning System complementary. The results of the test with 192 data are as follows: Firstly, it shows that the Instructor's Influence and the Media Richness are the influential determinants to affect on the Perception of Usefulness of e-Learning Systems. Additionally, the Co-learner's Influence and Ease of Use in order is significant to the Perception of Usefulness. Secondly, as to the degree of use of the e-Learning Systems, the Co-leaner's Influence, the Media Richness, and the Ease of Use are, in that order, the significant determinants. The Perception of Usefulness, also, founded a key factor on increasing the use of e-Learning Systems. On the other hand, the Instructor's Influence is not significant to the use of e-Learning Systems. Finally, it has been found that Self-efficacy is significant to the Perception of Media Richness, Ease of Use, but not significant to the Perception of Usefulness.

  • This study was a descriptive research study conducted to understand the relationship between the risk perception and preventive behavior of university students for COVID-19 infection, and to identify the factors that influence the preventive behavior. The subjects collected data from 228 university students of S University in Seoul. The collected data were analyzed using pearson's correlation and multiple regression. The results was the risk perception was 2.5 points out of 5, and the preventive behavior was confirmed as 3.1 points out of 4, and the preventive behavior was found to be affected by resilience, risk perception, self-isolation, and media dependence. In order to prevent new infectious diseases and to adapt to and recover from the post-COVID, it was discussed that there is a need to explore ways to strengthen individual resilience by utilizing the pure functions of the media along with disaster education.

  • With today's new media environment throughout Ubiquitous information innovation, live and dynamic fluid space is being created by integrating organic integration between electronic space and physical space and transplanting intelligence to materials. In other words, perception occurs in fluid space itself in a new media environment so has complicatedly organic relationship with environment and humans. In addition, emotion, time and movement have actively attempted to enter the space so designs appealing to humans' emotions are made through stimulation of synaesthetic sensory organs. This can be understood in the same context that media is eventually expansion of human body. Fluid space has characteristics of a live organism with factors such as sensor, perception and behavior so it needs to interpret perceptual system relationally and synthetically through an organic study method. This study looks into characteristics of organic perceptual system in terms of the meaning that fluid space with movements have as the sensory-perceptive subject and accordingly makes the world more sufficient as the third space, prepares a possibility to get out of limited five senses, and will develop fluid space as the organic environment making stimulation by itself.

  • The aim of this paper is to develop a framework of weather information services which is for processing contents and providing proper contents to new-media such as outdoor electronic display, DID (digital information display), and terrestrial multi-channel broadcasting, etc. By introducing the analysis of media use and perception science of human intelligence, the contents producing method to improve recognizing rate for weather information is provide and the layered framework of weather information services for new-media is designed. It integrates many different services to the framework. It can prevent duplicate investment for services and serve a major momentum to technical progress.

  • This survey of children's perceptions and experiences of death was conducted with 118 6th-grade elementary school children in Seoul. Data consisted of responses to questionnaires in three categories : (1) perceptions of death, (2) views of afterlife, and (3) death-related experiences (life, education, and media). Results showed that children had negative emotions (61.8%) such as fear and anxiety about death. Children's attitudes about suicide were sympathetic (34.5%) as well as critical (53.7%). There was no relation between religion and view of afterlife. Finally, children experienced death more through mass media (TV, internet, etc.) than through life experience or death education. This study suggests the necessity for death education and warns of negative effects of media and games.

  • Social media has emerged as a major hub of engagement between brands and consumers in recent years, and allows user-generated content to serve as a powerful means of encouraging communication between the sides. However, it is challenging to negotiate user-generated content owing to its lack of structure and the enormous amount generated. This study focuses on the hashtag, a metadata tag that reflects customers' brand perception through social media platforms. Online users share their knowledge and impressions using a wide variety of hashtags. We examine hashtags that co-occur with particular branded hashtags on the social media platform, Instagram, to derive insights about brand perception. We apply text mining technology and network analysis to identify the perceptions of brand images among consumers on the site, where this helps distinguish among the diverse personalities of the brands. This study contributes to highlighting the value of hashtags in constructing brand personality in the context of online marketing.
