  • Expand the market because the size of the huge funds administered by the conversion of over-the-air digital TV broadcasts in the current situation is likely to be reduced due to the influence of the media over-the-air broadcasts new paid media, digital cable TV and IPTV new mobile TV as a new growth engineis required. Broadcasting system to increase the supply and demand of the module from the ATSC-M/H DMB business existing in the domestic over-the-air broadcasters, has seen significant achievements in sleep technology with the introduction is expected. ATSC-M/H does not require a separate frequency allocation for mobile services does not interfere with the existing ATSC system simulcast, which can be performed on Android mobile handsets American-style mobile broadcast reception module to develop should. This paper is to design the software modules in the broadcasting module embedded systems that are applied on the Android platform, broadcasting from mobile handsets to see.

Response Characteristics of the Scattered Signal of a Microwave Reflectometry (마이크로파 Reflectometry의 산란 신호 응답 특성)

  • The characteristics of microwave reflectometry, which is based on the technologies of FM radar and is applied as a non-invasive method to examine the properties including density distribution of inhomogeneous media, is investigated. The microwave reflectometry system requires not only an optimized system hardware but as well as the understanding of system response from the media under test in order to provide the system solution describing the object under test quantitatively. The introduction of microwave reflectometry especially in the area of applied plasma physics has been relatively new and the number of usage is found to be increasing gradually. The experimental method to characterize the microwave system as a device to examine the properties of plasma is explained. The microwave reflectometry signals consist of the cutoff signals which originate from the region where most of the reflected power comes from and the scattered signals which result as an interaction of the microwave and the density perturbations. This paper describes the experimental results of the scattered signal from the microwave reflectometry, such as the wavenumber dependence and the sensitivity on density perturbation, and the comparison of the characteristics with those from the numerical simulations and those from the cutoff signals.

Analysis of Trans-Acting Elements for Regulation of moc Operons of pTi15955 in Agrobacterium tumefaciens

  • Two putative regulator genes, mocR and mocS, of the moc (mannityl opine catabolism) operons in pTi15955 of the octopine-/mannityl opine-type Agrobacterium tumefaciens strain 15955, were tested for their possible roles as repressors in the moc operons. The regions upstream of macC and mocD, the first structural genes in the two divergently oriented moc operons, were transcriptionally fused into the promoterless lacZ reporter gene. Each of the lacZ-fusions was introduced into Agrobacterium strain UIA5, a Ti plasmid-cured derivative, harboring either a mocR or a mocS clone. The resulting strains were grown in media containing various sugar sources, and the $\beta$-galactosidase activities were quantitatively measured. The results suggested that MocR repressed the expression of macC and macD. The expression of the fused $\beta$-galactosidase was not induced by mannopine (MOP) or possible catabolic intermediates of the opine, e.g. santhopine (SOP), glucose, mannose, or glutamine. However, the repression was significantly relieved by the supplementation of MOP and the concomitant introduction of the agcA gene encoding MOP cyclase that catalyzes the lactonization of MOP to agropine (AGR). These results suggested that AGR, rather than MOP or the other catabolic intermediates, is the inducer for the expression of the operon. On the contrary to previous report showing that the induction levels of macC and macD were lowered by the supplementation of inorganic nitrogen in media, the expression of these genes was not affected by the level of nitrogen in our reporter system. MocS did not strongly repress the expressions of macC and mocD. It is possible that MocS may be involved in the regulation of the operons present downstream of the moc operon, which are responsible for the utilization of mannopinic acid and agropinic acid.

  • "lux et sonitus" is an audiovisual art exhibition series with an artistic combination of music and video at its center. Since its first introduction in 2013, the series have been held five times under the theme of "exhibition of music", presenting works featuring both audio and visual media in an effort to explore the key issues in the field of audiovisual art. In addition to the previous achievement of the exhibition, recent works from the series feature new concepts that explore the possibility of expanding the realm of synesthesia. In this paper, details of the entire series are summarized. In addition, theoretical background behind creative results of the series is analyzed in the context of music, synesthesia and space found in Nam June Paik's audiovisual artwork as a source of inspiration. This will contribute to establishing a vision for the creation/analysis of audiovisual art in the future.

  • In the recent education market, Edutech technology, in which various digital technologies are grafted into the education, is being actively applied due to the 4th industrial revolution and the development of ICT. In particular, realistic experiential learning contents that can provide realistic and immersive learning in a virtual space are in the spotlight and are being expanded to each field. However, in the field of Korean medicine education, the introduction of ICT is delayed due to the nature of Korean medicine, difficulties in apprenticeship education, quantitative education, and the absence of an objective evaluation system. Therefore, in this study, we propose a digital technology application for acupuncture and acupuncture points, where practice is particularly important in Korean medicine. Various methods of acupuncture and acupoints education using AR, MR, IoT and Touch-Display Table will provide an opportunity to change the paradigm of Korean medicine education and further contribute to the globalization of Korean medicine.

A Case Study on the School Push Used for Learner-instructor Interaction (학습자-교수자 상호작용을 위한 교내 푸시의 활용 사례 연구)

  • This study is a case study on investigating the possibility of the school push as a tool of learner-instructor interaction in untact education environment. To this end, one-sentence dictation using the push was implemented and one survey was conducted on a total of 144 students from two different English courses, 127 of whom responded the survey. The findings revealed that the push is effective for instructors to communicate with students in that it has high accessibility as MIM and school-based app. However, making the push be a more useful tool requires for instructors to be committed to communication with their students, to be well informed about the strengths of the push for its promotion, and to provide comprehensive introduction on how to use the push and check if students use it well.

  • After COVID-19, hotel industry is rapidly experiencing changes in the business environment, and under the influence of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, hotel industry is striving to secure competitive advantages through differentiation, including the use of big data and the IoT in service provision, as well as the introduction of artificial intelligence(AI) robot services. This study analyzed the perceived value of AI robot services and their impact on usage attitudes and behavioral intentions of customers who have used hotels that have introduced AI robot services. The results of the study showed that the value of robot services perceived by customers who have used robot services in hotels is categorized into three dimensions: social, experiential, and functional, and all of them have a positive effect on usage attitudes, with social, functional, and experiential values having a positive effect on usage attitudes in that order. Attitude toward use was also analyzed to have a positive effect on behavioral intention, which is consistent with the value-attitude-behavior model. Therefore, it is necessary for hotels to improve the satisfaction of hotel guests through diversified services of AI robot service.

A Study on Visual Perception Scalability of AR/QR Picture Book Animation: Focusing on the Design Characteristics of the Picture Book 〈Where is this?〉 (AR·QR 그림책 애니메이션의 시지각 확장성 연구: 그림책 <여기가 어디지?>의 설계적 특징을 중심으로)

  • This study presents a way to design picture books that allow children to experience indirectly through realistic media at home and educational institutions for children whose direct experiences and activities are reduced offline in the post-COVID-19 era. The development and popularization of realistic media such as AR continues to be grafted and developed in the picture book field, and the advantage of this picture book is that children at the stage before learning letters can feel the story and character situation of the book through the experience of AR and QR animation in the picture book. In this process, you can get access to imaginary areas that can not be experienced in flat-panel illustrations with spatial animation to help improve the scalability and literacy of the story contained on the page. Children's education through realistic animation can increase the learning effect and needs to continue after COVID-19. Therefore, by presenting the process of viewing and experiencing picture books using AR and QR, the result of the study suggests that the design process of realistic picture books is not just a combination of technology, but a process of expanding children's perception and imagination. This study aims to find out how visual perception is designed differently by analyzing the differences and characteristics of each animation design, focusing on the AR and QR picture book "Where am I?" published by the researcher, and to contribute to the active introduction and development of realistic animation in the field of children's picture books and education.

Serotype Distribution of Pneumococcus Isolated from the Ear Discharge in Children with Otitis Media in 2001-2006 (중이염 환아의 이루에서 분리된 폐구균의 혈청형 분포(2001-2006))

  • Purpose : Better understanding of the epidemiology of Streptococcus pneumoniae affects preventive and therapeutic strategies for children with otitis media. This study was undertaken to examine the prevalence of pneumococcal serotypes causing otitis media in children. Methods : Pneumococcal isolates obtained from the ear discharge of children with otitis media between January 2001 and December 2006 were characterized by serotyping and antibiotic susceptibility testing. Results : There were 54 pneumococcal isolates from 54 children with otitis media. The median age of patients was 13 months, and the proportion of children <5 years old was 81%. The predominant serotypes, in order of decreasing frequency, were 19A (44%), 19F(28%), 6B (7%), 6A (4%), 9V (4%), and 1 (4%); 23 isolates (43%) belonged to types included in the heptavalent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV7). The proportion of serotype 19A and 19F accounted for 72% of overall pneumococcal isolates, which accounted for 84% of pneumococcal isolates from otorrhea of children <5 years old (vs 20% in children ${\geq}5$ years old, P<0.001). All serotypes isolated from 3 vaccinees of PCV7 were 19A. There was no significant diminution in otitis media caused by pneumococcal vaccine serotypes after the introduction of PCV7. The frequency of nonsusceptibility to penicillin, erythromycin, and trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole was higher in serotype 19A than in other non-vaccine serotypes, respectively. The frequency of multiple drug resistance was 96% in serotype 19A, compared with 29% in other non-vaccine serotypes (P=0.001). Conclusion : 19A was the most common pneumococcal serotype causing otitis media and represented a large proportion of strains with multiple drug resistance in children younger than 5 years of age.

  • This study analyzed the websites of domestic college's Teaching and Learning Center of Quality. The title of "Teaching and Learning Center of Quality" was given to 9 colleges selected for 3 years since 2010 by Korean Council for College Education. The websites mostly consist of introduction, teaching support, learning support, e-learning support, service, media support, resources, community, and so on. This study also analyzes the similarities and differences of the websites by the degree of the webpage menu activation. This study suggests the direction of the websites functions which college's Teaching and Learning Center should have.
