  • To design the Molded Case Circuit Breaker(MCCB) requires electromagnetic analysis in contact system when the circuit breakers interrupt fault currents. This paper has made sure that there are two ways increasing arc driving force, one is a change of contact point and the other way inserts additionally the magnetic plate. Finally, we have carried out the analysis of eddy current to identify a decrease of arc driving force because of fault currents. In this paper, MCCB models have been analyzed base on 3D-FEM by Maxwell program.

  • The magnetic force calculation methods, the Maxwell's stress tensor method, virtual work method, and nodal force method are reviewed. The methods are applied to the magnetic force calculation of 2D linear and nonlinear Problems. As the results the convergence of the methods as the number of elements increases, accuracy of the methods, and integral path dependence of the methods are discussed. Finally some recommendations on the usage of the methods, including the determination of the integral path, are given.

  • The Maxwell displacement current was generated from 4-octyl-4'-(5-carboxyl-pentamethyleneoxy)- azobenzene (denoted as 8A5H) monolayer Langmuir-Blodgett films prepared on Cr/Au-coated glass substrates due to trans-cis photoisomerization of 8A5H by application of alternate irradiation with UV light and Visible light. The displacement current was generated due to the trans-to-CIS photoisomerization by irradiation with ultraviolet light($\lambda_1$=360nm). Whereas the displacement current was generated in the opposite direction due to the cis-to-trans photoisomerization by photoirradiation with visible light($\lambda_2$=450nm). Finally, We concluded that Displacement current change according to power capacity photoirradiation, the more higher generate the more higher power capacity magnitude.

  • In this paper, the dielectric properties of epoxy composites used for transformers are studied. The dielectric permittivity and loss of specimen are measured at the temperature range of 20[$^{\circ}C$]~150[$^{\circ}C$] about frequency 30[Hz], 1[kHZ] and 30[kHz] respectively from a series of experiments. Consequently, observed higher values of dielectric permittivity and loss in filled epoxy are attributed to Maxwell-Wagner Polarization effect. Also, glass transition temperature was shifted to higher temperature and value of dielectric permittivity and loss were decreased due to 2nd curing.

  • Conductive Langmuir-Blodgett(LB) films have recently attracted much interest from the viewpoint of ultrathin film conductors at the molecular level. The result shows that the Maxwell-displacement-current(MDC) measuring technique is useful in the detection of phase-transition over the entire range of molecule areas. At the liquid-solid phase transition, a striking feature in the present current measurement was observed; the I-A isotherm for a DPPC monolayer has sharp bend. Dynamic behavior of monolayers in the presence of an external field was also investigated using the current-measuring technique. Dynamic behavier of DPPC monolayer was measured by displacement current when the molecules are stimulated by pressure velocity. As result, it is known that current is generated of higher current pe마 as compression velocity become faster. Also, in order to clarify the reorganization of the lipid monolayers, it is instructive to plot the relationship between I and 1/$A^2$.

  • This paper analyzes static and transient response characteristics of a permanent magnet type stepping motor with claw poles using three-dimensional finite element method. The outer diameter of the stepping motor to be analyzed is approximately 6 mm. In this paper we analyzes only 2 poles of the stepping motor, which has 10 magnetic poles made up of NdFeB material, using periodic boundary condition. We clarify transient response and static torque charateristics using Maxwell 3D and Matlab Simulink.

  • In this paper electromagnetic force and its distribution are analyzed on the nonlinear magnetic materials by Finite Element Method. Most of magnetic materials have the nonlinear characteristic, which considerably effects on the magnetic system. And it is necessary to know its distribution at the every Part of the magnetic material in order to design the, magnetic system considering noise, vibration and strain characteristic. The results are obtained by Maxwell stress. virtual work and magnetic charge method and compared with one another.

  • A Linear Induction Machine(LIM) is the motor which is developed from an rotary induction machine. Usually, the electromagnetic field of an LIM is analyzed by Maxwell's equations. The structure of an LIM is different from a conventional rotary machine, an LIM has some particular characteristics such as the end effects. Hence, the mathematical analysis of an LIM is very complicated and the implementation of the equivalent model is difficult. In this paper, the dynamic equations and the equivalent model of a Double-sided short primary LIM(DLIM) is obtained by the winding function and a d-q theory. The validity of the proposed methodology is verified by numerical analysis.

  • Using the Finite-Difference Time-Domain (FDTD) method that analyzes the Maxwell equations in time domain, we simulated the characteristics of optical wave propagation and defect modes in two-dimensional photonic crystals composed of dielectric cylinders located on triangular, square, and honeycomb lattices. In particular, we investigated the properties of defect modes as the permittvity of the defects is varied. aried.

  • An analysis using FEM simulation was conducted to predict residual stresses and birefringence in simple compressed cylindrical glass as a preliminary part of the optimum design determination of optical lenses. The FEM simulation with the Maxwell viscoelastic constitutive model was used to predict thermal induced residual stresses and birefringence during the compression test considering stress relaxation. Also the linear photoelastic theory was introduced to calculate birefringence from the residual stress state. The error of simulation results between experimental results in the birefringence value at the center of glass specimen is $4.2\%$, and the error in the maximum radius of deformed glass specimen is $1.2\%$. The simulation results were in good agreement with deformation and birefringence distribution in the existing experimental result.
