  • We propose a method to train a model that can predict the probability of a crime being committed. CCTV data by matching criminal events are required to train the crime prediction model. However, collecting CCTV data appropriate for training is difficult. Thus, we collected actual criminal records and converted them to an appropriate format using variables by considering a crime prediction environment and the availability of real-time data collection from CCTV. In addition, we identified new specific crime types according to the characteristics of criminal events and trained and tested the prediction model by applying neural network partial least squares for each crime type. Results show a level of predictive accuracy sufficiently significant to demonstrate the applicability of CCTV to real-time crime prediction.

  • This letter presents a power amplifier (PA) with an on-chip power detector for 2.4-GHz wireless local area network application. The power detector consists of a clamp circuit, a diode detector, and a coupled line directional coupler. A series inductor for an output matching network in the PA is combined with a through line of the coupler, which reduces the coupling level. Therefore, the coupler employs a metamaterial-based transformer configuration to increase coupling. The amount of coupling is increased by 2.5 dB in the 1:1 symmetric transformer structure and by 4.5 dB from two metamaterial units along the coupled line.

  • In this paper, we present a robust method for detecting other vehicles from n forward-looking CCD camera in a moving vehicle. This system uses edge and shape information to detect other vehicles. The algorithm consists of three steps: lane detection, ehicle candidate generation, and vehicle verification. First after detecting a lane from the template matching method, we divide the road into three parts: left lane, front lane, and right lane. Second, we set the region of interest (ROI) using the lane position information and extract a vehicle candidate from the ROI. Third, we use local orientation coding (LOC) edge image of the vehicle candidate as input to a pretrained neural network for vehicle recognition. Experimental results from highway scenes show the robustness and effectiveness of this method.

  • Similarity search in moving object trajectories is an active area of research. In this paper, we introduce a new concept of measure that computes spatial distance (similarity) between two trajectories of moving objects on road networks. In addition, we propose an algorithm that generates a sequence of matching edge pairs for two trajectories that ate to be compared and computes spatial distance between them which is non Euclidian in nature. With an example, we explain how our algorithm works to show spatial similarity between trajectories of moving objects in spatial network.

  • The neural networks (NNs) simulation has been designed to simulate and predict the vortex wavelength ${\lambda}_x^*$, lateral vortex spacing ${\lambda}_y^*$, and normalized maximum vorticity at the vortex center near the wake of square cylinders with different corner radii. The system was trained on the available data of the three cases, although this data is very little. Therefore, we designed the system to work in automatic way for finding the best network that has the ability to have the best test and prediction. The proposed system shows an excellent agreement with that of an experimental data in these cases. The technique has been also designed to simulate the other distributions not presented in the training set and predicted them with effective matching.

  • In this paper, a modified Chebyshev low-pass filter function is proposed. The modified Chebyshev filter function exhibits ripples diminishing toward .omega. = 0 in the passband. So, the modified filter function is realizable in the passive doubly-terminated ladder network for the order n even or odd, thus lending itself amenable to active RC or switched capacitor filters through the simulation techniques. Besides the passive doubly-terminated ladder realizability, lower pole-Q values of the modified function are accountable for improved phase and delay characteristics, as compared to classical function. We have designed the 6th order passive doubly-terminated network using the modified function. And then a continuous-time DDA(Differential Difference Amplifier) filter, which has no matching requirement, is realized by leap-frog simulation technique for fabrication. In the HSPICE simulation results, we confirmed that the designed continuous-time DDA filter characteristics are agreement with the passive filter.

  • In this paper, we present the multimodal system based on the fusion of two user-friendly biometric modalities: Iris and Face. In order to reach robust identification and verification we are going to combine two different biometric features. we specifically apply 2-D discrete wavelet transform to extract the feature sets of low dimensionality from iris and face. And then to obtain Reduced Joint Feature Vector(RJFV) from these feature sets, Direct Linear Discriminant Analysis (DLDA) is used in our multimodal system. In addition, the Synergetic Neural Network(SNN) is used to obtain matching score of the preprocessed data. This system can operate in two modes: to identify a particular person or to verify a person's claimed identity. Our results for both cases show that the proposed method leads to a reliable person authentication system.

  • Aging diagnosis system using partial discharge(PD) is being highlighted as a research area. But the application of PD requires complicated analysis method because the PD has complex progressing forms. In this paper, It has been developed to the PD diagnosis system using neural network(NN). As a result after NN learning, the recognized rate was represented about 85%. The safety area is possible to express the second output of NN in this experiments.

  • It is effectively removed noise in the image using FCNN(Fuzzy Cellular Neural Network) applying fuzzy theory to CNN(Cellular Neural Network) structure and HD(Hausdorff Distance) commonly used measures for object matching. HD calculates the distance between two point set of pixels in two-dimensional binary images without establishing correspondence. Also, this method is proposed in order to improve the operation speed. In this paper, $\alpha$-LTSHD(Least Trimmed Square HD) operator applying $\alpha$-Trimmed to LTSHD, one field of HD, is applied to FCNN structure, and it is proposed as the modified method in order to remove noise in the image. Also, it is made a comparison with the other filters by using MSE and SNR after removing noise using the FCNNS which are applied $\alpha$-LTSHD operator through the computer simulation. In a result, FCNN performance which is applied the proposed $\alpha$-LTSHD demonstrated the superiority to the other filters in the noise removal.
