This study was conducted to evaluate performance of asphalt concretes under various densities, using Marshall specimens before and after freezing-and-thawing treatment. Six different compaction blows per side (20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70 blows) were applied to specimens to produce different densities. Test results showed that the lower density specimens had the weaker resistance to freezing-and-thawing treatment. The density was an index of retaining fatigue life and displacement after freezing-and-thawing. Therefore, poor compaction in pavement was considered to be a major cause of early distress mechanisms such as rutting, ravelling and cracking, which were resulted in a reduced service life.

This paper presents a new class of multivariate distributions with Pareto where dependence among the components is characterized by a latent random variable. The new class includes several multivariate and bivariate models of Marshall and Olkin type. It is found the bivariate distribution with Pareto is positively quadrant dependent and its mixture. Some important structural properties of the bivariate distributions with Pareto are discussed. The distribution of minimum in a competing risk Pareto model is derived.

There is a new trend of incorporating software coverage metrics into software modelling. This paper proposes and empirically evaluates a software reliability growth model, which relates reliability to coverage. The proposed model is derived by modifying the assumptions on which Veevers and Marshall model is based.

In this article, we discuss a Grobner basis algorithm related to the stability of algebraic varieties in the sense of Geometric Invariant Theory. We implement the algorithm with Macaulay 2 and use it to prove the stability of certain curves that play an important role in the log minimal model program for the moduli space of curves.

In this paper, we obtain maximum likelihood estimator(MLE) of a parallel system reliability for the Marshall and Olkin's bivariate exponential model with birariate type 1 consored data. The asymptotic normal distribution of the estimator is obtained. Also we construct an a, pp.oximate confidence interval for the reliability based on MLE. We present a numerical study for obtaining MLE and a, pp.oximate confidence interval of the reliability.

내피세포 (endothelial cells, EC)는 amine, peptide, 단백, arachidonic acid 및 그 대사물 등의 여러 화학물질에 의하여 내피세포 의전성 이완물질 endothelium-derived relaxing factor, EDRF)을 유리할 뿐만 아니라 맥압(脈壓)과 같은 물리적 변동에 의하여서도 EDRF가 유리된다. EDRF는 처음에 Furchgott와 Zawadzki (1980)에 의하여 보고되었고, EDRF의 실질적인 성분이 무엇인가에 대하여는 그동안 많이 검토되어 왔다(Marshall 와 Kontos, Hong 등, 1990).Ignarro 등 (1987)과 Palmer등 (1987)은 EDRF에 의한 생물학적 반응이 NO (nitric oxide)와 유사하거나 같은 물질이라고 보고하였고,Furchgott 등 (1986)과 Ignarro등 (1988)도 EDRF가 NO와 유사하거나 같은 물질일 것이라고 단정하였다.

Estimation for the parameters of a bivariate exponential (BVE) model of Marshall and Olkin (1967) is investigated for the cases of complete sampling and time-truncated parallel sampling. Maximum likelihood estimators, method of moment estimators and Bayes estimators for the parameters of a BVE model are obtained and compared with each other. A Monte Cario simulation study for a moderate sized samples indicates that the Bayes estimators of parameters perform better than their maximum likelihood and method of moment estimators.

1996-1998년에 걸쳐 경기 수원, 경북 경산 및 제주에서 시험결과 우량품종으로 선발된 이탈리안 라이그라스의 생육특성과 건물수량 및 사료가치는 다음과 같았다. 월동률에 있어서 FL80(장려품종)이 중북부 지역인 수원에서 69%로 가장 낮았고 Marshall(장려품종) 및 Grazer 등이 가장 높았다. 숙기는 Grazer 및 FL80(장려품종)이 4월 중순에 출수가 시작되어 가장 조생종으로 평가되었다.(중략)
