A study on needs of women in labour to have family participation during the labour process (산부의 가족분만참여 요구)

  • This study was done to suggest modification in the present hospital policy for Labour and Delivery which separates women in labour from their families. The design for study was a descriptive study. The number of subjects consisted of 82 postpartum women who had delivered within 12 hours and for whom there were no complications either for the mothers or for the newborns. Data collection was done with a structured questionnaire which was analyzed using frequencies and percentiles. The results of this study are as follows : 1. Most of subjects (90.2%) wanted their family to participate in the labour process. Husband were chosen as the primary participant(79.3%). The number of subjects who wanted their family to support them through the whole labour process (35.4%) was the highest, followed by, during labour(32.9%), as contrasted to, during delivery (1.2%). 2. Support from husband during pregnancy ranged from 55.6%-87.6% for all items. Primary support was from husband during the pregnancy. 3. The subjects wanted support from their families in labour by way of encouraging(84.1%), consolidating(81.7%), changing position(43.9%), maintaining relaxation(35.4%) and helping with respiration control (29.3%). The results showed higher support on the emotional level than the physical and informational level (26.8%). 4. The subjects answered that they expected that participation by their family during the labour process would have the effect of increasing security for the women in labour(79.3%), providing a better relationship between the family and the women in labour (57.3%) and the newborns(34.1%), and making for an easier labour courses (23.2%). 5. The priority of family members that the subjects wanted support from was, the husband, mother and mother-in-law in that order. It can be concluded that nurses help to maintain a management policy in the maternity setting which ignores the needs of the women in labour. If consideration is to be given to these subjects, future programs should include participation by the family in the labour process.

  • Current trend of audit is to check the physical aspects of developed information system, such as checking the budget constraints, time constraints or functional fluency etc. However, ultimate goal of information system is to help the organization to achieve the competency over their competitors. Also, there are three different interest groups in system auditing, like audit requesting group, audited group and audit group, who may have different points of interests in auditing. Current auditing process, however, ignores this point, and so does not check the differences between three groups. This study tries to develop new auditing method to cure these two problems. Contributions of this study may be summarized as follows. First, Redefine Information Systems Audit from a service point of view. Second, Divide the audit related person into three groups, and their different needs toward the information system was analyzed. Third, Analyze and compare the main interests of three groups, and weights of each groups to each indexes were calculated. Fourth, Fuzzy theory was applied to quantify the qualitative answers, which may minimize the ambiguity of questionnaire replies.

A study on the improvement of efficiency for waterworks on the basis of the accidents in the system by setting the example of Chungcheongbuk-do (시스템사고에 기반한 상수도 효율성 개선에 관한 연구: 충청북도를 중심으로)

  • The service for waterworks is important infrastructure structuring the cities and the public properties affecting the health and the abundant lives of the residents at the same time. However, the waterworks project still has many problems in reality in spite of the continuous efforts from the nation, local governments and many related people in waterworks projects. From the aspect of the situation, this purpose of this study is to review the actual operation state and the operation principle on the basis of the accidents in the system and to suggest the policy leverages for accurate diagnosis of the waterworks project and for the efficient operation. The operation structure of the service for waterworks is the complicated system showing the overlapped forms of the relation with other various factors. Moreover, as this has been influenced by other external environments, it has flexible features that can be changed by unexpected factors even if the internally close causality has been established The domestic local operation of waterworks have been divided by an administrative district and it causes inefficiency in the aspect of the country and the local government with small sized of budget faces the insufficient investments. These phenomena have been shown in some small sized areas located in Chungcheongbuk-do and, making a realistic suggestion by the related local government to improve the waterworks operation project is urgent. For this reason, this study is to lead the policy leverages to increase the efficiency of the service for waterworks and to stabilize the structure of virtuous circle in the system. At first, the reformation of the waterworks structure should be performed after the various supports and system maintenance. At second, the service quality should be improved through the creativity in management and the consideration of the efficiency by the participation of private enterprises for waterworks service. At third, through the specialized waterworks operation, the quality improvement of the waterworks and satisfying the standard of natural environment should be related. In this context, the fundamental solutions for the problems of domestic waterworks service and finding realistic alternatives are considered to be the priority for the waterworks project to be operated efficiently.

A Comparative Study on the Determinants Priority of the Royalty in National R&D Project: Focused on the Case of 'N' Center's Technology Transfer (국책 연구 성과의 유상 기술이전 시 기술공급 기관과 기술도입 기업 간 기술료 결정요인 비교에 관한 연구 : N 사업단에 참여한 대학과 중소기업 사례를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to present meaningful information and policy implications concerning the determinants of royalties of technology transfer to stakeholder. To identify key determinants of royalties in technology transfer, this study conducted AHP survey analysis (Survey period: 01/09~31/10, 2016) of 96 government-funded research centers and 85 companies which were participants of the R&D project "Next Generation BioGreen21" of R.D.A in the "N" center from 2011 to 2015. Research results show that both parties acknowledge 'Technical considerations for determining the profitability of the technologies' and 'The interest and willingness of the management group' as critical factors for the determinants of royalties. The difference of each party is that private companies acknowledge 'Available budget plan' as a critical factor while the government-funded research centers value 'Market competitiveness'. These findings suggest four main policy implications which are the investigation of technological demands reflecting specific needs of industrial sites, the diversification of royalty payments for private companies, the differentiated research evaluation system for the purpose of technology transfer and the planning of public R&D project reflecting research time span of private companies.

Estimation of Road-Network Performance and Resilience According to the Strength of a Disaster (재난 강도에 따른 도로 네트워크의 성능 및 회복력 산정 방안)

  • PURPOSES : This study examines the performance changes of road networks according to the strength of a disaster, and proposes a method for estimating the quantitative resilience according to the road-network performance changes and damage scale. This study also selected high-influence road sections, according to disasters targeting the road network, and aimed to analyze their hazard resilience from the network aspect through a scenario analysis of the damage recovery after a disaster occurred. METHODS : The analysis was conducted targeting Sejong City in South Korea. The disaster situation was set up using the TransCAD and VISSIM traffic-simulation software. First, the study analyzed how road-network damage changed the user's travel pattern and travel time, and how it affected the complete network. Secondly, the functional aspects of the road networks were analyzed using quantitative resilience. Finally, based on the road-network performance change and resilience, priority-management road sections were selected. RESULTS : According to the analysis results, when a road section has relatively low connectivity and low traffic, its effect on the complete network is insignificant. Moreover, certain road sections with relatively high importance can suffer a performance loss from major damage, for e.g., sections where bridges, tunnels, or underground roads are located, roads where no bypasses exist or they exist far from the concerned road, including entrances and exits to suburban areas. Relatively important roads have the potential to significantly degrade the network performance when a disaster occurs. Because of the high risk of delays or isolation, they may lead to secondary damage. Thus, it is necessary to manage the roads to maintain their performance. CONCLUSIONS : As a baseline study to establish measures for traffic prevention, this study considered the performance of a road network, selected high-influence road sections within the road network, and analyzed the quantitative resilience of the road network according to scenarios. The road users' passage-pattern changes were analyzed through simulation analysis using the User Equilibrium model. Based on the analysis results, the resilience in each scenario was examined and compared. Sections where a road's performance loss had a significant influence on the network were targeted. The study results were judged to become basic research data for establishing response plans to restore the original functions and performance of the destroyed and damage road networks, and for selecting maintenance priorities.

Pre-Filtering based Post-Load Shedding Method for Improving Spatial Queries Accuracy in GeoSensor Environment (GeoSensor 환경에서 공간 질의 정확도 향상을 위한 선-필터링을 이용한 후-부하제한 기법)

  • In u-GIS environment, GeoSensor environment requires that dynamic data captured from various sensors and static information in terms of features in 2D or 3D are fused together. GeoSensors, the core of this environment, are distributed over a wide area sporadically, and are collected in any size constantly. As a result, storage space could be exceeded because of restricted memory in DSMS. To solve this kind of problems, a lot of related studies are being researched actively. There are typically 3 different methods - Random Load Shedding, Semantic Load Shedding, and Sampling. Random Load Shedding chooses and deletes data in random. Semantic Load Shedding prioritizes data, then deletes it first which has lower priority. Sampling uses statistical operation, computes sampling rate, and sheds load. However, they are not high accuracy because traditional ones do not consider spatial characteristics. In this paper 'Pre-Filtering based Post Load Shedding' are suggested to improve the accuracy of spatial query and to restrict load shedding in DSMS. This method, at first, limits unnecessarily increased loads in stream queue with 'Pre-Filtering'. And then, it processes 'Post-Load Shedding', considering data and spatial status to guarantee the accuracy of result. The suggested method effectively reduces the number of the performance of load shedding, and improves the accuracy of spatial query.

  • Recently many companies began to feel the pressures of cost savings due to the global recession, so they have been interested in the Cloud Computing. Cloud Computing is one of using method of IT resources through the network. Users can borrow softwares or hardwares instead of buying them. Many people expect remarkable growth in Cloud Computing industry because of it's effectiveness. But Cloud Computing industry is still at an early stage. Especially, people who in the public sector hesitate to adopt Cloud Computing Services due to security issues and their conservative views. Also, they just have limited understanding, so we need to investigate what they really know and understand. Researches about the Cloud Computing generally focus on technical issues, so we can hardly find researches reference for decision making in considering the services. The study aims to investigate diverse factors for agencies' adoption decisions, such as benefits, costs, and risk in developing the most ideal type of cloud computing service for them, and performs priority analyses by applying ANP (Analytic Network Process). The results identify that features pertaining to the risk properties were considered the most significant factors. According to this research, the usage of private cloud computing services may prove to be appropriate for public environment in Korea. The study will hopefully provide the guideline to many governmental agencies and service providers, and assist the related authorities with cloud computing policy in coming up with the relevant regulations.

Methodology and Guidelines for Selecting Measurement Boundaries and Influence Variables for Analyzing and Evaluating Energy Usage in Demonstration ESS-Based Distribution and Logistics Facilities (실증 ESS 기반 유통 물류시설의 에너지 사용량 분석 및 평가를 위한 측정경계와 영향변수 선정 방법론 및 가이드라인)

  • ESS-based buildings are being widely studied as an effective methods for saving energy with ZEB, BEMS, and FEMS. However, in large scale buildings, there are many energy-consuming facilities, so it is necessary to identify important energy-consuming facilities to build a real-time measurement system. In addition, there are a myriad of factors that affect the dependent variable of energy use, therefore there is a limitation that effective energy management is difficult. Therefore, this study applied the measurement boundary setting methodology according to the energy supply status through due diligence for the demonstration ESS distribution logistics facility, and suggested the methodolgy for presenting priority for the construction of the measurement system. Afterwards, the impact variables that Acting as an independent variable affecting the energy consumption of the distribution and logistics facilities were categorized into intrinsic and meteorological variables. Lastly, all factors that could affect the energy consumption of the actual distribution and logistics facilities, were classified and presented as guidelines list. By applying the results of this study, it is possible to build a monitoring system at a low cost and high efficiency in a distribution and logistics facility with a complex structure. And by identifying the main independent variables for the measured energy consumption, effectively identifying trends in energy consumption and deriving saving points It is expected to be able to operate the ESS-based infrastructure.

A Study on the Criteria Establishment for One-way road using AHP (AHP분석을 활용한 일방통행 선정기준 정립에 관한 연구)

  • Standards suitable for local conditions on deciding one-way road are desperately required to solve traffic congestions at the backside roads in the old downtown areas which were not designated as a road by urban planning. Therefore, this study intends to re-establish a standard to decide one-way road which is regarded to be of the greatest effect among traffic system control methods in order to control one-way road system more efficiently. Also, this paper suggests a standard for such decision to improve efficiency of using backside roads and expand designation of one-way road. AHP (analytic hierarchy process) was carried out among the traffic experts to find out the factors to decide one-way road system. Its result reveals that importance of causing accident to walking quantity and traffic was high. 10,000 cases out of all the possible scenarios of accident by combining detailed evaluation items and scales were extracted to draw the outcomes of analyzing the scenarios, which were schematized in a graph. As a result, division by three sections of point of inflection was verified into $1{\leq}$ section A<1.91, 1.9$1{\leq}$ section B<2.08, and $2.08{\leq}$ section C<3. In other words, priority of deciding one-way road should be given to section C, the highest total point, while posterior to section A, where relatively low points are distributed. The standard on deciding one-way road suggested in this paper may be used for designating one-way road and basic data to re-establish the relevant system in the future.

A Study on the Space Planning of Culture Contents Exhibition Hall (Based on case study) (문화콘텐츠 전시관 공간기획에 관한 연구)

  • This study investigated many factors which had to be considered importantly in space planning for the cultural contents exhibition hall on the basis of establishment cases at this time that cultural contents were considered very importantly in the national economy. It must be a priority to set up the concept of the exhibition space which can encompass exhibition spaces, exhibits, the approach to experience exhibitions and others for the effective planning for exhibition spaces showing cultural contents. Visitors' moving lines should be planned based on that concept setting. It is necessary to reflect human attributes that people detect environmental information and perceive the environment through their sensory organs and plan moving lines considering visitors' cognitive, emotional and psychological factors which they can feel according to the temporal order. In addition, this study led visitors to respond exhibits through their five senses and increased the effects that visitors appreciated exhibition spaces, actively getting out of the way that visitors experienced exhibitions, which might be limited to sight. This study will be able to provide specific space planning methods related to the establishment of cultural industry-based professional exhibition halls which have been increased day by day at this time that culture-based industries are considered to be important. Moreover, it will be helpful in reducing the trial and effort factor in the exhibition hall establishment project.
