Economic Feasibility on the Interconnected Electric Power System in North-East Asia (동북아 전력계통 연계에 따른 경제성 분석)

  • Interstate electric power system, as an alternative for energy cooperation under regional economic block, has been hotly debated before progressing the restructure in electric power industry and rapidly expanded in many regions after 1990s. Especially, since northeast asia has strong supplementation in resource, load shape, fuel mix etc., interconnection of electric power systems in this region may bring considerable economic benefits. This paper implements a mathematical optimization model, ORIRES, proposed by Russia, in analysing the economic feasibility of system interconnection. Additional analyses on the environmental impact of the system interconnection, and sensitivity of key factor inputs have been performed.

  • 현재까지 회로 역률을 정확히 계산할 수 있는 방법은 없다. 그러나, 표준을 목적으로 규격마다 서로 다른 계산 방법을 명시하고 있다. 실제로 실험을 통해, 시험 조건이나 시험 결과에 따라 적합한 계산 방법을 적용함으로써 보다 정확한 역률을 계산할 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. 그러나, 이러한 각종 역률 계산 방법들이 역률 크기나 전류 투입각에 대하여 얼마 만큼의 오차를 가지는지 알려져 있지 않기 때문에 적합한 방법을 결정하기란 쉬운 일이 아니다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 각종 규격에 명시되어 있는 역률 계산 방법들을 구현하여 전류 투입각과 역률 크기에 대한 상대적 계산 오차를 구하고, 문제점과 보완법을 제시하며, 시험 조건에 따른 계산법을 제시하고 이를 실험을 통해서 입증하고자 한다.

  • This paper presents Static Synchronous Series Compensator(SSSC) model for power flow study using IPLAN. In the proposed model, SSSC is represented by the equivalent load variation. The equivalent load consists of active power load specified by user and reactive power load which is founded for considering characteristic of SSSC. And this is implemented by IPLAN which is a macro-external program for PSS/E. Using this model, SSSC can be solved in load-flow by just calling the model in PSS/E. The proposed model was applied to a realistic power system for validity test.

  • Power semiconductor devices are being compact, high performance and intelligent thanks to recent remarkable developments of silicon design, process and related packaging technologies. Developments of MOS-gate transistors such as MOSFET and IGBT are dominant thanks to their advantages on high speed operation. In conjunction with package technology, silicon technologies such as trench, charge balance and NPT will support future power semiconductors. In addition, wide band gap material such as SiC and GaN are being studies for next generation power semiconductor devices.

  • The characteristics and classification of UAV power plants were studied. The energy source for electric generation and power source for internal combustion engine for UAVs were compared. The advantage and drawbacks of power plants were analyzed respectively and the performance demand condition was suggested for next generation UAV power plant finally.

  • The robust controller for the nuclear reactor power control system is designed. Since the reactor model is not exact, it is necessary to design the robust controller that can work in the real situations of perturbations. The reactor model is described in the form of transfer function and the bound of each coefficient is determined to set up the linear interval system. By the Kharitonov and the edge theorem, a frequency based design template is made and applied to the determination of the controller. The controller designed by this method is simpler than that obtained by the H$_{\infty}$. Although the controller is designed with the basis of high power, it could be used even at low power.n at low power.

  • Recently, human errors have very rarely occurred during power generation at nuclear power plants. For this reason, many countries are conducting research on smart support systems of nuclear power plants. Smart support systems can help with operator decisions in severe accident occurrences. In this study, a smart support system was developed by integrating accident prediction functions from previous research and enhancing their prediction capability. Through this system, operators can predict accident scenarios, accident locations, and accident information in advance. In addition, it is possible to decide on the integrity of instruments and predict the life of instruments. The data were obtained using Modular Accident Analysis Program code to simulate severe accident scenarios for the Optimized Power Reactor 1000. The prediction of the accident scenario, accident location, and accident information was conducted using artificial intelligence methods.

  • A Microgrid is a private small-scale power system composed of distributed energy resources (DERs), storage devices and loads. And it is expected that the Microgrid will come into wide use in the near future. For this, the establishment of the Microgrid operation methodology is a very important problem. Especially, the Microgrid is greatly different from existing private small-scale power systems because of the multiple participants. Therefore, the Microgrid operation considered various requirements according to multiple participants is more complicated than the operation of existing private small-scale power systems. In this paper, Microgrid operation methodology based on a market environment is suggested. Through case studies, the effectiveness of the suggested methodology is verified.

  • The use of the midnight power faces the crisis of the load peak-cut problem. Which appears at the simultaneous start of the midnight power system. We suggest a control method which uses the characteristics of boiler system. The system used that method consists of 6 heaters and are designed for the load distribution on each heater. Proposed method can take the balance of load during full time of midnight power supplied. The system is composed of measurement part and heater controller. Taking the data of the experience as a reason, the algorithm make the midnight power distribute. Experimental results show the validity of the method and the system proposed.

  • For feeder automation function, we must have Fault Indicator with the information of fault current flowing inside automatic feeder switches. In this paper, we introduce the algorithm of feeder automation, the theory of fault indicator, the result with some troubles of field test in real distribution system and contents of improvement.
