Developing a Non-Periodic Preventive Maintenance Model Guaranteeing the Minimum Reliability (최소 신뢰도를 보장하는 비 주기적 예방보전 모형 개발)

  • Purpose: This paper proposes the non-periodic preventive maintenance policy based on the level of cumulative hazard intensity. We aim to construct a cost-effectiveness on the proposed model with relaxing the constraint on reliability. Methods: We use the level of cumulative hazard intensity as a condition variable, instead of reliability. Such a level of cumulative hazard intensity can derive the reliability which decreases as the frequency of preventive maintenance action increases. We also model the imperfect preventive maintenance action using the proportional age setback model. Conclusion: We provide a numerical example to illustrate the proposed model. We also analyze how the parameters of our model affect the optimal preventive maintenance policy. The results show that as long as high reliability is guaranteed, the inefficient preventive maintenance action is performed reducing the system operation time. Moreover, the optimal value of the proposed model is sensitive to changes in preventive maintenance cost and replacement cost.

  • In order to do a maintenance task, a maintenance operator should learn the basic skills of the maintenance task such as assembly and disassembly (A/D). However, the key of the learning process is to learn the A/D task intuitively and naturally. Haptic guidance promises to give effectiveness and benefit qualitatively since a person can be trained to do the optimal task based on information that comes from an expert, database, or intelligent algorithms. By applying haptic guidance, a maintenance training process can be made more intuitive and natural in a virtual environment. This paper describes the development of a maintenance training system by using haptic guidance.

  • Recently, the construction industry has been changed more highly and complicacy. According to this, several informational systems of maintenance are introduced suitable the work and the purpose of each maintenance. However there are some problems in the manage the information of maintenance management by without the standization and systematic management of variable information from building life-cycle. This paper purposed the process of creation or management of information which is used for present maintenance through IFC-based facilities object library development is suggested for work efficiency of maintenance management. In addition, it can minimize the reproduce the same information unnecessarily. Fainally, it makes information compatibility through the building life-cycle highly by define the IFC-based object information and standardize the format of information.

  • There are two kinds of method in ship maintenance. One is the corrective maintenance and the other is the preventive maintenance. For these maintenances recently the stochastic techniques are widely used to keep the maximum availibility and the optimal maintenance period minimizing a given cost function. Thus this paper suggest a method to decide the optimal policy of ship's maintenances by using dynamic programming and the effectiveness of the method is verified through several examples in which failure rates and maintenance data of ship's machineries and parts are given.

  • Maintenance plays a critical role in the bridge industry, but actual practices show many limitations because of traditional, 2D-based information systems. It is necessary to develop a new generation of maintenance information management systems for more reliable decision making in bridge maintenance. Enhancing current work processes requires a BIM-based 3D digital model that can use information from the whole lifecycle of a project (design, construction, operation, and maintenance) through continuous exchanges and updates from each stakeholder. This study describes the development of a data scheme for maintenance of cable-stayed bridges. We implemented the proposed system for a cable-stayed bridge and discussed its effectiveness.

  • Duty cycle is determined as the ratio of operating time to total time. Duty cycle in reliability prediction is one of the significant factors to be considered. In duty cycle application, non-operating time failure rate has been easily ignored even though the failure rate in non-operating period has not been proved to be small enough. Ignorance of non-operating time failure rate can result in over-estimated system reliability calculation. Furthermore, utilization of duty cycle in reliability prediction has not been evaluated in its effectiveness. In order to address these problems, two reliability models, such as MIL-HDBK-217F and RIAC-HDBK-217Plus, were used to analyze non-operating time failure rate. This research has proved that applying duty cycle in 217F model is not reasonable by the quantitative comparison and analysis.

  • As the domestic aviation industry grows, the aviation maintenance field is also growing rapidly. This change calls for more aircraft maintenance technicians, and interest in safety accidents is also increasing. Individual safety climate indicates the importance of safety in the organization. We expect that three individual factors (training effectiveness, procedure effectiveness, and work pressure) relate to safety behavior in the workplace via individual safety climate. The purpose of this research is investigating the relationship between individual factors and aircraft maintenance technician's safety behavior. Previous studies related to individual factors were examined for literature review. Based on the previous studies, research model was constructed. Hypothesis was verified by effected data from 305 samples were employed for final survey. The results show that individual factors were meaningful factors to effect perceived safety behavior, and safety knowledge & safety motivation were related to safety compliance & safety participation.

  • Purpose: This study is to develop an evaluation model for analysis of CMMS Implementation status and provide CMMS advancement methods to maximize implementation effect through the evaluation model. Methods: After extracting common modules from CMMS packages and establishing evaluation standard for each module, then the evaluation standard is applied to 33 Korean companies for evaluating their own current implementation status. Results: Preventive maintenance and analysis information modules were considered the most vulnerable in Korean companies which have introduced CMMS packages. And the reason why preventive maintenance is vulnerable is that there is poor build-up of their own preventive maintenance standards. Conclusion: Korean companies which will introduce CMMS need to make preventive maintenance standards, and data of the materials and the equipment to improve the effectiveness in advance.

  • In this paper, we present the cost measurement metrics for the operation management and service improvement besides the general maintenance. The cost measurement metrics of the operation management and service improvement are based on the metrics that are classified and summarized precedent studies and complemented by empirical measuring indicators, and we propose the maintenance cost estimation model based on this metrics. The maintenance costs can be calculated detailedly, because the proposed metrics can be used selectively, depending on the scope of the information system maintenance. The effectiveness of the proposed maintenance cost measurement metrics and cost estimation model is verified by comparison between existing studies and our research.

  • Modern police activity is achieved than individual achievement by police officers through member's interaction. It is police's goal which protect citizen's life and body, property and is public order maintenance and to achieve this, suitable police official's selection and public official upgrading the quality and capacity strengthening are important element. But, polices organization has characteristic that do activity by team, and therefore, mutual cooperation of police officers is important first of all for public order preservation. Therefore, this study limited as patrol police officers and investigated realization difference about organizational effectiveness for public order maintenance. Analysis result, realization of organizational effectiveness appeared difference according to sex, age, area, police departments, class, period.
