Development of an optimal measuring device selection system using neural networks (Neural Network을 이용한 최적 측정장비 결정 시스템 개발)

  • Various types of measuring devices are used for reverse engineering and inspection in different fields of industry such as automotive, aerospace, computer graphics, and home appliance. In order to measure a part easily and efficiently, it is important to select appropriate measuring device considering the characteristics of each measuring machine and part information. In this research, an optimal measuring device selection system using neural networks is proposed. There are two major steps: Firstly, the measuring information such as curvature, normal, type of surface, edge, and facet approximation is extracted from the CAD model. Second, the best suitable measuring device is proposed using the neural network system based on the knowledge of the measuring parameters and the measuring resources. An example of machine selection is implemented to evaluate the performance of the system.

  • This study includes noise automatic inspection system for washing machine auto-transmission one of modern home necessary. We effort to find and certificate sound noisesource by sound power and sound intensity, and apply to frequency analysis in vibration related sound noise. Still more we have been studying to data acquisition and programming for MS VisualBasic version 5.0. System component is below. 1) Pentium PC for data acquisition. 2) DSO for noise acquisition. 3) S/W for comparison and decision. 4) I/F Board for data communication. Wave form data through the DSO are converting to ASCII code data. The ASCII code through binary converting S/W are to be decision fitness or the badness comparison S/W. Finally, we will making noise monitoring system and automatic inspection system.

  • This paper describes the systematic control method of process information transfer and machine cell control in FMS implementation. We have constructed an experimental FMS computer network and control system. The system hardware consists of host computer to manage process data and information transfer of machine cells, cell control computers to control machine cells(NC lathe, machining center). On the other hand, software is made up of oredr management module, NC program searching and generation module, NC part program error check module and cell control module. In this study, we could arrive at conclusion as following : The first, each task could be accomplihed by the efficient information transfer in hierachical computer network. The second, data base system of part programs and process control data is needed for the efficint information transfer and production management. Lastly, expansion of FMS control system could be achieved by the hierachical and decentralized computer control system.

  • This paper introduces a on-line monitoring system for insulation diagnosis of high-voltage motor stator windings. This system monitors the insulation condition of the stator winding with sensor, coupling capacitor. Partial discharge (PD) signals are able to be continuously measured and digitalized with a Peak-hold A/D converter to build the database of the high-voltage motor's insulation condition. This system can communicate with the central monitoring system via RS-485 This paper introduces an economic solution for data acquisition of partial discharges.

  • This study carried out hydraulic model test for water circulation system in Cheongna district as part of Incheon Free Economic Zone. Canal way project of Cheongna was planned to establish for environment-friendly water circulation system, improve quality of life and diversification of traffic through using boat as a water-friendly international business city. The navigation canal, There are two intake facility in central park and it can purify water 15,000$m^3$ per day. After purify, water move to 8 facility of water culture area which supplies water in canal way. This process called water circulation system in cheongna. Also, there are several flow induction machine in canal way except south-north way. Therefore, this study will verify about validity of water circulation system's safety through hydraulic model test.

  • This paper deals with reliability and MTTF analysis of a non-repairable man-machine system operating under different weather conditions. The system consists of a hardware(machine) and a two-operator standby subsystem such as the air combat maneuvering of fighters with dual seat. The failure times for the subsystems follow the exponential distribution with constant parameter. By considering not only the effect on hardware component but also the weather conditions and human performance factors such as the operator's errors, a Markov model is presented as a method for evaluating the system reliability of time continuous operation tasks. Laplace transforms of the various state probabilities have been derived and then reliability of the system, at any time t, has been computed by inversion process. MTTF has also been computed.

  • This paper presents an on-machine measurement method of flatness error fur surface machining processes. There are two kinds of on-machine measurement methods available to measure flatness errors in workpieces: i.e., surface scanning method and sensor scanning method. However, motion errors are often engaged in both methods. This paper proposes an idea to realize a measurement system of flatness errors and its rigorous application for estimation of motion errors of the positioning system. The measurement system is made by modifying the straightness measurement system, which consists of a laser, a CCD camera and processing system, a sensor head, and some optical units. The sensor head is composed of a retroreflector, a ball and ball socket, a linear motion guide unit and adjustable arms. The experimental .results show that the proposed method is useful to identify flatness errors of machined workpieces as well as motion errors of positioning systems.

  • In this study, to analyse the dynamic characteristics of a machine-tool spindle system, the spindle is mathematically represented by a Timoshenko beam including the internal damping of beam material, and each bearing by four bearing coefficients; stiffness and damping coefficients in moment and radial directions. And the dynamic compliance of the system is calculated by introducing the transfer matrix method, and the complex modal analysis method has been applied for the modal parameter identification. The influence of the bearing coefficients, material damping factor and bearing span on the dynamic characteristics of the system is parametrically examined.

  • In this paper, we implement a system for a fund recommendation based on the investment propensity and for a future fund price prediction. The investment propensity is classified by scoring user responses to series of questions. The proposed system recommends the funds with a suitable risk rating to the investment propensity of the user. The future fund prices are predicted by Prophet model which is one of the machine learning methods for time series data prediction. Prophet model predicts future fund prices by learning the parameters related to trend changes. The prediction by Prophet model is simple and fast because the temporal dependency for predicting the time-series data can be removed. We implement web pages for the fund recommendation and for the future fund price prediction.

  • This paper develops a flow control block for a hydraulic system of a tunnel boring machine. The flow control block is a necessary component to ensure stability in the operation of the hydraulic system. In order to know the pressure distribution of the flow control block, the flow analysis was performed using the ANSYS-CFX. It was confirmed that the pressure and flow rate were normally supplied to the hydraulic system even if one of the four ports of the flow control block was not operated. In order to evaluate the structural stability of the flow control block, structural analysis was performed using the ANSYS WORKBENCH. As a result, the safety factor of the flow control block is 1.54 and the structural stability is secured.
