  • In this paper, We proposed a Optical Correlation for indoor positioning based LED-ID. The proposed Optical Correlation has a advantage to low-interference between spread code number sequences and LED-ID. it is applied a spread code to reduce the interference with additional information based LED-ID. The additional information is enable to detect in transmitted signal using auto correlation. Also we designed and implemented the Optical Correlation for clearly detecting the additional information. Simulations were performed to confirm the performance of BER and the power of additional information. Optical Correlation simulator to indoor positioning based LED-ID was implemented to prove a usefulness.

  • The Kepler mission of NASA has enabled to discover a lot of new W UMa-type binaries with continuous light curves measured with unprecedented accuracy. Interestingly, their eclipsing time variation (hereafter ETV) diagrams show anti-correlation between primary and secondary minima, presumably occurred by continuous spot variation (Tran et al. 2013; Balaji et al. 2014). Two active Kepler binaries (KIC06118779 & KIC08682849), reported as showing the anti-correlation in ETV diagram, were investigated to see that the anti-correlations are correlated with time-variable O'connell effects appeared in their light curves. As a result, it was found that the O'connell effects for two binary stars have varied in quasi-sinusoidal ways similar to the patterns of their anti-correlation variations. In addition, our light curve syntheses of two binary stars with the latest version of the Wilson-Devinney code (Wilson & devinney 1971) show that they are very deep-contact binary system with extremely low mass ratios.

  • In this paper, we propose an adaptive multiview video coding scheme based on spatiotemporal correlation analyses using hierarchical B picture (AMVC-HBP) for the integrative encoding performances, including high compression efficiency, low complexity, fast random access, and view scalability, by integrating multiple prediction structures. We also propose an in-coding mode-switching algorithm that enables AMVC-HBP to adaptively select a better prediction structure in the encoding process without any additional complexity. Experimental results show that AMVC-HBP outperforms the previous multiview video coding scheme based on H.264/MPEG-4 AVC using the hierarchical B picture (MVC-HBP) on low complexity for 21.5%, on fast random access for about 20%, and on view scalability for 11% to 15% on average. In addition, distinct coding gain can be achieved by AMVC-HBP for dense and fast-moving sequences compared with MVC-HBP.

  • The studies were performed to obtain the basic informations on the influence of weather condition for grain yield and yield components in barley. The data of Olbori tested in 9 sites for 12 years were used in the studies. Milled grain yield was decreased in paddy field after rice harvested comparing to the upland condition, and yield potential was differed by test sites with the most stable yield in Gyeongnam. The coefficients of variation analyzed for milled grain yield by years were 12.2-42.6% with the differences between high-yield and low-yield year. Heading date was earlier in high-yield year and southern part compared to the low-yield year and middle part of the Korean peninsular showing the negative correlation between grain yield and heading date. High-yield year showed longer in culm length, shorter in spike length, almost same in number of grains per spike, and lower in 1,000grain weight compared to the low-yield year. Correlation analyzed between number of spikes and grain yield showed positive relationship. Temperatures affected to the grain yield analyzed by high in vegitative growth stage, low in alternative growth stage, and almost same in reproductive growth stage in high-yield year comparing to the low-yield year, however no remarkable differences of temperatures affected were detected in over wintering stage between high-yield and low-yield year. Precipitation amount in high-yield year was lesser in sowing time, more in seedling time, and lesser in over wintering time than those of the low-yield year. Correlation between rainfall amount in the early of April and grain yield showed significant negative correlation with the remarkable affects to the grain yield. Sunshine hours in high-yield year were longer in sowing time, shorter in over wintering time, and after the over wintering time to harvesting time was longer than those of the low-yie-ld year.

  • It is important to understand correctly a CHF under low flow condition for the purpose of enhancing the reactor safety and performance in the LWRs. The CHF experiments have been carried out for an internally heated vertical annulus in RCS loop facility. The experimental conditions cover ranges of pressure from 1.82 to 12.08 MPa, mass flux from 300 to 550kg/$m^2$. s and inlet subcooling of 210kJ/kg. The CHF data decrease with increasing pressure at high value of mass flux. For mass flux of about 300kg/$m^2$. s, the CHF rue little influenced by pressure. The CHF data are correlated well by using the dimensionless heat flux and dimensionless mass flux for a fixed inlet subcooling except the data group of 12.08 MPa. It seems that the Doerffer correlation and Katto correlation overestimate the CHF for low pressure and lower value of mass flux within this experimental ranges. The Bowling correlation gives a better prediction than the other two correlations.

  • This study was conducted to observe the effect of vitamin K on bone metabolism in postmenopausal women. Twenty-four healthy postmenopausal women recruited for this one-month, double-blind controlled study. Before and after daily administration of 1.0mg of phylloquinone the levels of serum vitamin K, osteocalcin, under-carboxylated osteocalcin, and urinary deoxy-phyidinoline were measured. The serum vitamin K concentration of Koran women as well as the average dietary intake of vitamin K was shown to be higher than the average levels of foreign women. However, no correlation between serum vitamin K concentration and vitamin K intake was found. Also, serum vitamin K concentration showed no special correlation with either bone mineral density or bone turnover markers in the study group. However, women with low serum vitamin K concentration(vitamin K-low group)had lower bone mineral density levels. After supplementation with 1.0mg/day of vitamin K, there were no changes in the levels of serum vitamin K, osteocalcin, ucOC, or u-DPD. Vitamin K supplementation did not seem to have any positive effects on bone metabolism through carboxylation. It can, however, be expected that vitamin K supplementation has a positive effect on bone metabolism in postmenopausal women with especially low serum vitamin K concentrations.

  • This paper aims to describe the characteristics of air pollution using air pollutants concentration and meteorological data observed at Kimhae from December 1996 to November, 1997. The results are as follows : The concentration distribution of sulfur dioxide($SO_2$), carbon monoxide(CO), particulate matter(PM-10), and nitrogen dioxide($NO_2$) is high during the late fall and winter and low during the summer, but ozone concentration is low during the winter season and high during summer season except Jangma period and these distributions appear to be closely connected with insolation and the number of clear day. Diurnal variation of concentrations for sulfur dioxide, particulate matter, and carbon monoxide are high during the rush hours and nighttime and low during the daytime and these variations are distinct toward the winter season. And diurnal variation of nitrogen dioxide concentration has also same pattern and these patterns are closely related to the increasing traffic volume at rush hours. Diurnal variation of ozone concentration is generally increase for daytime and decrease for the late afternoon and are closely related to the insolation and photochemical reaction. The 24 hour average concentrations of air pollutant observed at Kimhae represented a positive correlation and a negative correlation for $O_3$ and also a negative correlation for the meteorological elements such as wind speed and cloud cover.

  • Metallicity is an important tracer of star formation in galaxy evolution. Based on the flux ratios of broad emission lines, AGN metallicity has shown a correlation with AGN luminosity. However, it is not clear what physical parameter drives the observed correlation. Using a sample 69 Palomar-Green QSOs at low-z (z<0.5), we determine BLR gas metallicity from emission line flux ratios, i.e., N V1240/C IV1549, (Si IV1398+O IV1402)/C IV1549 and N V1240/He II1640 based on the UV spectra from the HST and IUE archives. We compare BLR gas metallicity with various AGN properties, i.e., black hole mass, AGN luminosity and Eddington ratio, in order to investigate physical connection between metal enrichment and AGN activity. In contrast to high-z QSOs, which show the correlation between metallicity and black hole mass, we find that the metallicity of low-z QSOs correlates with Eddington ratio, but not with black hole mass, suggesting that metallicity enrichment mechanism is different between low-z and high-z.
