자기조직화지도 클러스터링을 이용한 종단자료의 탐색적 분석방법론 (An Exploratory Methodology for Longitudinal Data Analysis Using SOM Clustering)

  • 종단연구는 동일 대상에 대하여 반복적으로 측정한 종단자료를 기반으로 하는 연구방법을 말한다. 대부분의 종단분석 방법은 예측이나 추론에 적합하고, 탐색적 목적으로 사용하기에는 적합하지 않은 경우가 많다. 본 연구에서는 종단자료를 분석하는 탐색적 방법을 제시한다. 이 방법은 자기조직화지도기법을 사용하여 종단자료를 군집화 하여 최선의 군집 수를 정한 후 종단궤적을 찾는 방법이다. 제안한 방법론은 고용정보원의 종단자료에 적용되었으며, 총 2,610개의 샘플에 대하여 분석을 하였다. 방법론을 적용한 결과 패널 별로 시계열적으로 군집 화되는 결과를 얻었다. 이는 종단자료를 사전에 클러스터링하고 다층 종단분석을 하는 것이 더욱 효과적이라는 사실을 나타낸다.

Longitudinal reaction on conductors due to tornado wind load

  • The longitudinal force resulting from tornado loads on transmission line is considered a crucial factor contributing to the failure of transmission line structures during tornado events. Accurate estimation of this longitudinal force poses a challenge for structural designers. Therefore, the objective of this paper is to provide a set of charts that can be easily used to estimate the peak longitudinal forces transferred from the conductors to a tower. The critical wind field and corresponding configuration considered in this paper are previously studied and determined. The charts should account for all the conductor parameters that can affect the value of the longitudinal force. In order to achieve that, a parametric study is first conducted to assess the variation of the longitudinal forces with different conductor parameters, based on the critical tornado configuration. Results of this parametric study are used to develop the charts that can be used to calculate longitudinal forces by adopting a multi-variable line regression. The forces calculated from charts are validated by finite element analysis. An example for the usage of the charts is provided at the end of this paper.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the longitudinal causal relationship between caregiver relations and peer relations of children in out-of-home care. We analyzed the three years(2011-2013) of longitudinal data from the Panel Study on Korean Children in Out-of-Home Care. The autoregressive cross-lagged model (ARCL) was used to measure the longitudinal causal relationship between caregiver relations and peer relations. As a result, first, caregiver relations and peer relations showed stability over time. In other words, the results of the measurement at three time points showed that the caregiver relations and peer relations at the previous time had a significant effect on the caregiver relations and peer relations at the later time point. Second, the previous caregiver relations had a significant effect on the subsequent peer relations over time. Third, the previous peer relations had a significant effect on the subsequent caregiver relations over time. This study confirmed the interrelationships of caregiver relations and peer relations of children in care by examining the longitudinal data using the longitudinal analysis method.

  • This study is performed to investigate the behavior of multi-column piers and to evaluate the seismic performance. In this study, 3 types of scale model piers with 2-column are designed and tested by quasi-static load in both longitudinal and transverse directions. Each type of model consisting of 2 specimens has different reinforcement details in the lap splice of longitudinal bars and amount of transverse reinforcements. This paper reports that the ductility of the model in transverse direction is rather higher than in longitudinal direction because of formation of several plastic hinges and that the ultimate displacement and the energy absorbtion capacity are enhanced by using continuous longitudinal bars instead of lap-splice ones. And it is confirmed that relatively large amount of ductility can be achieved by providing sufficient lap-splice length and transverse reinforcements with end hook even if longitudinal bars are lap spliced in the base of pier.

겹침이음 상세에 따른 철근콘크리트 교각의 내진성능에 관한 실험적 연구 (The Experimental Study on Seismic Performance of RC Bridge Columns with Longitudinal Steel Lap Splice)

  • Recent destructive seismic events demonstrated the importance of mitigating human casualties and serious property damages in design and construction of structures. The Korean Bridge Design Specifications (1992) adopted seismic design requirements based on the AASHTO specification, and minor modification was made in 2000. The longitudinal steel connection of reinforced concrete bridge column is sometimes practically unavoidable. The longitudinal reinforcement details affect seismic performance such as flexural failure and shear failure. This research aims to develop longitudinal steel connection details with confinement steel by experimental study for seismic performance of reinforced concrete bridge columns. Quasi-static test under three different axial load levels was conducted for 12 spiral column specimens. All the column specimens had the same aspect ratio of 3.5. The column specimens were transversely reinforced with spiral and with five different longitudinal steel connection. The final objective of this study is to suggest appropriate longitudinal reinforcement connection details for the limited ductility design concept and improve construction quality.

의학교육의 코호트 구축을 위한 종단 데이터베이스 설계방안 연구 (Designing a Longitudinal Database for Cohort Construction in Medical Education )

  • Longitudinal data can provide important evidence with the potential to stimulate innovation and affect policies in medical education and can serve as a driving force for further developments in medical education through evidence-based decisions. Tracking and observing cohorts of students and graduates using longitudinal data can be a way to link the past, present, and future of medical education. This study reviewed practical methods and technical, administrative, and ethical considerations for the establishment and operation of a longitudinal database and presented examples of longitudinal databases. Cohort study design methods and previous examples of research using longitudinal databases to explore major topics in medical education were also reviewed. The implications of this study are as follows: (1) a systematic design process is required to establish longitudinal data, and each university should engage in ongoing deliberation about this issue; (2) efforts are needed to alleviate "survey fatigue" among respondents and reduce the administrative burden of those conducting data collection and analysis; (3) it is necessary to regularly review issues of personal information protection, data security, and ethics regarding the survey respondents; and (4) a system should be established that integrates and manages a longitudinal database of medical education at the national level. The hope is that establishing longitudinal data and cohorts at individual medical schools will not be a temporary phenomenon, but rather that they will be well utilized at the national level to innovate and implement ongoing changes in medical education.

수직보강재가 원형강기둥의 이력거동에 미치는 영향에 대한 해석적 연구 (An Analytical Study on Influence of Longitudinal Stiffeners on Seismic Performance of Circular Steel Columns)

  • 최근 복잡해진 도심지의 토지 이용률을 높이기 위하여 원형 강교각이 건설이 요구되고 있다. 원형강교각의 경우 줄어든 단면으로 좌굴 내하력이 감소하며 이에 대한 방안으로 수직 보강재의 적용을 고려할 수 있다. 그러나 수직보강재를 적용한 원형 강교각의 좌굴 내하력의 증가의 효과에 대해서는 아직 명히 파악되지 않았다. 본 연구에서는 먼저 탄소성 유한요소해석 통하여 보강재를 적용하지 않은 무보강 원형 강교각과 수직보강재가 보강된 원형 강교각에 대해서 좌굴내하력을 검토하였다. 그리고, 형상비(R/t)에 따른 좌굴내하력의 변화를 기존의 실험식과 비교하여 그 효과를 검토하였다. 그리고 원형강교각의 수직 보강재를 적용하여 폭과 두께에 따른 좌굴 내하력을 비교 검토하였다. 그리고 수직 보강재를 적용한 원형 강교각에 대한 내진성능을 검토하였다.

Study on midtower longitudinal stiffness of three-tower four-span suspension bridges with steel truss girders

  • The determination of midtower longitudinal stiffness has become an essential component in the preliminary design of multi-tower suspension bridges. For a specific multi-tower suspension bridge, the midtower longitudinal stiffness must be controlled within a certain range to meet the requirements of sliding resistance coefficient and deflection-to-span ratio. This study presents a numerical method to divide different types of midtower and determine rational range of longitudinal stiffness for rigid midtower. In this method, influence curves of midtower longitudinal stiffness on sliding resistance coefficient and maximum vertical deflection-to-span ratio are first obtained from the finite element analysis. Then, different types of midtower are divided based on the regression analysis of influence curves. Finally, rational range for longitudinal stiffness of rigid midtower is derived. The Oujiang River North Estuary Bridge which is a three-tower four-span suspension bridge with two main spans of 800m under construction in China is selected as the subject of this study. This will be the first three-tower four-span suspension bridge with steel truss girders and concrete midtower in the world. The proposed method provides an effective and feasible tool for engineers to design midtower of multi-tower suspension bridges.

  • This paper is on experimental study on the behavior of reinforced concrete columns subjected to longitudinal steel ratio To investigate the effects of concrete strength and longitedinal steel ratio on the behavior of reinforced concrete columns. a series of tests were carried out for thirty-six tied reinforced concrete columns with a 100mm square cross section and three slendemess ratio of 15, 30 and 50. And To study and illustrate the change of the ultimate loads and that of displacements, two different concrete strength of 180,26kfg/$\textrm{cm}^2$, 819,36kfg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ and five different longitudinal steel ratio of 0.5, 1.0, 4.0, 5.7 and 10.3% were used. The boundary conditions at the ends were both hinged and the end eccentricities (17mm) were equal and of the same sign. While the ultimate load capacity of high-strength concrete column was much increased when the columns were short, that was not when the columns were slender. The effect of longitudinal steel ratio on the increased of ultimate load of column was more evident for slender columns than for short ones and the ultimate of longitudinal steel ratio were more pronounced with increasing concrete strength. The more inserted the longitudinal steel, the more increased the ultimate load, but the superabundance of longitudinal steel ratio over the limitation of maximum steel ratio in ACI code was used, it was showed that the ultimate load was rather decreased.
