As far as general landscape of international logistics is concerned, it is investigated into function and role of service provider, user and market situations. However, it is well proved that current market of international physical distribution is stable and bright, which means it is possible to take foreseeable future as well. Then company can share with corporate value of international physical distribution provided from logistics service provider. Results - To achieve corporate value throughout process of international physical distribution is strongly connected with competitive status of logistics service providers, those are carriers and infrastructures, and third party logistics providers. Especially in order to inquire into competitive aspects of international physical distribution in this paper, it is focused on trade volumes and overcapacity of global shipping market. If import/export shippers entrust their international logistics activities to forwarders, they can receive good logistics services at a lower cost. Therefore, it is important to form a trading relationship between the export shipper company and the forwarder, and it helps to improve the competitiveness of the company. This study derives factors that an export shipper company forms a transaction relationship with a forwarder, and analyzes the effect of transaction formation factors on transaction continuity. Next, the relationship between export consignment characteristics of export shippers and their influence on transaction formation factors and transaction continuity is identified. As a result of the study, transaction formation factors consisted of price, quality, and companionship, and all factors were found to affect transaction continuity. The characteristics of consignment logistics for shippers are the proportion of consignment, the number of business partners, and the transaction period. The proportion of consignment and the number of business partners affected the price factor, and the number of business partners affected the quality factor. There was no mutual influence between the transaction continuity and the characteristics of the shipper's logistics consignment. Therefore, there is a need for recognition of a relationship that can grow between shippers and logistics companies through consignment transactions rather than subordinate recognition based on fair transactions.
In order that a company may reduce expense, according to companies' income statement, the largest amount of money is set to total sales amount, and the next is the sales cost. The method of reducing the sales cost is the common and it is important to take down a unit price at the time of purchase, or to reduce inventory cost. In this research, the cost reduction model for logistics cost reduction is built using the real data of P company, and in order to verify the validity of a model, logistics cost is calculated through a simulation. A real logistics cost is compared with the logistics cost through logistics route rearrange of the proposal model. It will become an opportunity which analyzes the logistics expense of P company through this research, and can be solved in search of the problem of logistics system.
Logistics in a supply chain network has become an important operational strategy in a competitive market. A number of internal and external risks involved in the logistics operations in a company tend to create problems in fulfilling customer orders. This research presents how ERM (enterprise risk management) can be used to identify, assess, and control logistics risks. An electronic company's logistics activities were used as an industry case to demonstrate a way to identify and assess risks surrounding global logistics function. This paper has further presented action plans to mitigate the impact of the risks that occur.

The objective of this paper is to investigate digital transformation in logistics within the shipping and logistics industry. This paper examines the case of Hyundai Merchant Marine (HMM) and draws insights from its success in becoming the top company amidst the industry challenges. To achieve a more in-depth analysis, a single-case study approach was employed. Various secondary data have been analyzed to support the examination of HMM's digital transformation. HMM has emerged as a global leader in transportation services. The company's success is attributed to its development of diverse ships, robust logistics systems, and pioneering a digital logistics platform, ultimately overcoming the crisis. Especially, this paper show that the digitalization of logistics has been analyzed as the most significant transformation. The findings of this paper can offer valuable implications for other companies grappling with similar challenges in the current trade landscape.
Purpose : Due to the uncertainty of the global trade environment and the trade downturn, the shipping industry continues to face challenges. This study aims to investigate in-depth analysis of crisis overcoming strategies through case study of a company that is leader in the shipping and logistics industry. Research Desigh and Methodology : In order to conduct an in-depth analysis, a single case analysis was selected as a qualitative study. For this purpose, various secondary sources were used, and indirect interview data were also used. In this study, Maersk was selected because it has grown from a traditional shipping logistics company to a digital platform company. Results: Maersk has transformed itself into a comprehensive, digital logistics platform with several key strategies to respond to the long-term slump in the shipping industry. First, it leveraged Maersk's diversification and portfolio optimization strategy. Second, Maersk is transforming its logistics and transport processes through digitalization and technological innovation. Conclusion: Maersk, which is responding to the long-term recession facing the shipping industry, looked at how it has leveraged its strengths and explored new opportunities through a number of strategies and changes. This study provides insight into a digital logistics platform that will benefit the other companies as well.
After the COVID-19 pandemic, a global economic downturn and a recession in the shipping market are expected, it is important for domestic shipping companies to establish appropriate strategy in response to the recession. Accordingly, domestic shipping companies should grow into integrated logistics companies that combine shipping and logistics in the future. And for this purpose, it is necessary to actively promote logistics integration with external shipping and logistics companies. This paper presents the direction of logistics integration for domestic shipping companies to develop as integrated logistics operators with competitiveness in the global shipping market, and presents detailed alternatives. Domestic shipping companies lack the infrastructure such as ships, port terminals, and warehouses, so they have a weak capacity to independently promote logistics integration. At the shipping company level, a logistics integration promotion strategy should be established, and accordingly, logistics infrastructure, service network, and logistics integration operating system should be established. The government should provide tax benefits for logistics integration, financial support for M&As led by domestic shipping companies, a standardized information sharing system, and preparation of educational courses for nurturing digital manpower.
The purpose of this study is to analyze logistics cost of transportation systems on EC(electronic commerce) between company and consumer. Transportation system in logistics is classified by three types on EC. The first type is the direct delivery from supply factory to consumers(type I). The second type is the delivery through distribution center in each area by owner logistics company (type II). The third type is the commission of delivery to the third party logistics company(type III). The logistics of EC has various service characteristics such as dealing with small quantity, various goods, and high frequency. This study assumes that all day's order is delivered on a next day. The logistics cost function is calculated according to the number of orders, delivery distance, transport quantify. and allocated freight trucks for daily order of the subject zone. The logistics cost changes according to the daily order characteristics. Therefore it is simulated to analyze the logistics cost change that considers the type of transportation's order characteristics. As a result of analysis, if the number of order is less than 10 and the quantify of each order is less than 10kg, type III has an advantage over the others And if the number of order is more than 10 and the quantity of each order is more than 10kg, type I has an advantage in the same zone and type II has an advantage in the other zones. This study is limited on the actual application because this study doesn't consider logistics infra of supply company and transport service time. If further study that considers these factors is implemented, it can estimate more accurate logistics cost on EC and propose an efficient freight transport alternatives to the company. This study attributes to estimate the logistics cost change over the frequency of daily order, the quantify of supply goods, and the transport distance on EC.

The trend of globalization leads an increased need for international freight transportation and accelerates the development of the international logistics industry. The objective of this paper is to identify the critical factors that affect the choice of logistics service provider (LSP). The data sample was collected through a questionnaire, responded by 218 companies that outsource logistics services. The analysis uses descriptive statistics; exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and regression analysis were conducted with SPSS. The role of capabilities, customer service, and company reputation were evaluated and tested. Our findings show that capabilities and customer service have a considerable impact on the choice of LSP. The findings also indicate that company reputation do not have significant impact on the choice of LSP. They also showed that the capabilities is the variable that has the most significant effect on the choice of LSP. An implication of this study is that the competition should not only focus on pricing, but should be extended to improving enterprises capabilities, i.e., upgrading human resources, modernizing the modes of transportation, expanding business geographically and developing new technologies. Our study provides LSP managers with insights into how to meet customer expectations in the competitive logistics service sector.
