Logistics is one of the most important factors to manage a stream of materials in economic environment. Establishing effective logistics system needs to consider some constraints which are fluctuation of materials volume, a long distance between makers and consumers, one way logistics and small quantity batch production. It is estimated that Unit Load System should be a powerful method to cope with those problems. It helps to realize the key issues which are Standardization and Logistics Pool System The Material Unification of Logistics System is able to participate in all kinds of industries including manufacturing, distribution and logistics. This system has some merits which are a long distance transportation cost down, product recovery, and treatment in the unbalance of demand and supply caused by unstable materials volume. Four strategies of Material Logistics Model are Packing Rationalization, Logistics Pool System, JIT System application and establishing effective infrastructure. The Material Unification Of Logistics System based on Unit Load System achieves efficiency of logistics and largely decreases moving cost.

Many Korean companies are challenged to reduce logistics cost and meet environmental-friendly logistics. The textile companies in harsh competition are requested to make improvement on their logistics environment to cut down the total cost. However, they have reached the limit on improving the manufacturing process. We believe that the logistics department is the most improvable part at present. Improving logistics will be highly effective to cut down the total cost. In this study, we present Pad Pool System(PPS) as the solution to save their logistics cost. PPS, which means the shared use of Styrofoam pads, will enable the textile companies to cut down their cost and strengthen enterprise competitiveness. Also, PPS will be helpful reducing environmental disruption because the system reuses retrieved Styrofoam pads many times.

It is needed to develop on-line real time management and RFID-PPS(Radio Frequency Identification-Pallet Pool System) by putting information technology. Additionally, it is possible to figure out the flow of all the materials loaded on the RFID pallet; product, material, raw material immediately, so that epoch-making management is possible and it contributes to the reduction of logistics cost because there are little loss or outflow of pallet. The materials flow is getting speedy and inventory is decreasing in the logistics process, and also bad inventory and loss problems are prevented. As a result, not only logistics cost of company but also national logistics cost is decreased. Thus it contributes to the strength of national competitiveness.

Recently, many companies knock themselves out to reduce logistics costs. However, they have reached the limit on cost reducing by improving the manufacturing process. In addition, Customers are growing more and more particular about the quality. Also the firms, which provide foods & beverages manufacturer with vacant receptacles and bottles, make zealous efforts to save costs. They have tried to seek for the resolution by own investment and improving system, but they haven't found certainly substitutions. In this study, we analyze problems of the vacant receptacles manufacturers and present introduction of pool system by standardization of Packing Resource. This PPS(Packing resource Pool System) will enable to reduce logistics cost that is challenge for the receptacles & bottles manufacturers, be helpful reducing environmental disruption which are the pollution of alien substances, wasted paper sheets because the system cleans retrieved Packing resources and reuses them.

This paper is a development of the integrated system which combined Manure Pallet Pool System(MPPS) and Agricultural products Pallet Pool System(APPS). It is an management tool which helps to reduce logistics costs successfully and Improve pallet availability. Already traditional PPS was implemented by pallet rental company, but it was irrationally. So this paper proposed MPPS-and-APPS describes how to combine MPPS with APPS, operates this system and measure rental pallet rates. Using a newly developed management technique for MPPS-and-APPS, i.e., 2-dimensional contract, this system will needs motivate managers and employees to improve their company's value. And it allows enterprise leaders to create profit through system structure improvement. Furthermore, this paper is useful for performance of measure and application in operational unit.

The logistics cost in Korea is very higher than that of the other countries. Thus, we propose to the way to reduce company's logistics cost in the paper industry. Each company in the paper industry is having its particular sized pallets and using them to manufactured products, store, deliver, retrieve empty pallet and so on. In this reason, the logistics cost is still increasing. As the common introduction of Pallet Pool System to "Paper Industry", the logistics cost could be reduced up to 24% and 1.8 billion won saved approximately, and it possibly attributes to the increase of company profit and the strength of the company competitiveness.itiveness.

Although companies have to concentrate on effort to save cost to survive competition, transportation costs are taking more portions in total sales costs due to globalization in the modern times. It is the reason why Transportation Management System TMS is getting more important. However, it is practically difficult for the system to fit to all of transportation environments and actually many problems are taking place with the system. Therefore, a new idea is necessary to solve such problems fundamentally rather than temporarily or superficially. To do so, if TRIZ, which is a theory that systematically establishes creative ideas on the basis of patent analysis, is employed, it can bring forth a guideline with some creative principles that can be applicable in drawing out innovative ideas based on conceptual shift. The present study aims to propose a methodology of how TRIZ should be applied to solve the problems that happen in TMS as a whole. Particularly, the study focuses on how to design customized TMS system that can be employed for each of different situations in a creative way.

When logistics system is integrated with production system and marketing system, it takes a very important role of the business management. In general, measurement of logistics cost in logistics system uses the conventional cost assignment method. However the conventional method may result in the incorrect cost because the overhead cost may be incorrectly assigned to the products. Activity-Based Costing(ABC) was proposed as an alternative method which will distribute the overhead cost to each cost obeject more accurately. ABC assigns cost to activities based on the amounts of resources used by resource driver, and assigns cost to cost objects based on the amount of activities driver. This study proposes two heuristic algorithms. The first algorithm selects the best activity driver for each cost object by using correlation analysis. The best activity driver is the one that minimizes the sum of loss cost and measurement cost of activity driver. The second algorithm selects the best number of activities by using correlation analysis. The pair of activities with the highest correlation are combined into one if the saving of measurement cost is no less than the loss due to inaccurate distribution of overhead cost. In order to demonstrate the procedure and validity of the algorithms, Real data of one year from a paper manufacturer are used.
