According to increase of personal incomes, spread of automobiles, a five-day only work week and expansion of cultural life, modern people today are increasingly showing leisure time interests. Under such social circumstances in which people's spare time are gradually increasing, weekend trips accompanied with hotel staying are increasing to a greater extent rather than one-day trips. In Korea where differences between regions and four seasons are remarkable, the resort industry has developed in harmony with seasonal environments and regional characteristics. In particular, an increasing number of modern people living in the wellbeing era tends to visit spa resort hotels for recreation and health. This study intends to compare realities of local and foreign spa resort hotels and investigate space characteristics of local spa resort hotels for promotion of use. In this study, it has been found that the proposed addition of characteristic-oriented spaces to the existing recreation, service and basic facilities beside the fundamental accommodations would be able to remarkably elevate use of the hotels.

This report designs a landscape plan of six reservoirs in Sihung city which has possibilities both in development and in destruction. The report suggests how to create a leisure space in harmony with the surroundings in Sihung city. Building a leisure town will create the local residents' demand in recreational activities and improve the amenities. Therefore this study analyzes eco-friendliness of the land, conditions of fauna and flora, the quality of water and the usage figures of the six reservoirs so as to develop those six reservoirs more eco-friendly. Based on environmentalism, the leisure spot development plan attribute the ultimate importance to local residents' pleasant leisure time and recreations. With this master plan, the report suggests expanding the city's green space, since the city has under 50% out of the optimal percentage of green space per person. In addition, the report intends to plan each six reservoirs developed separately but organically connected at the same time that those six can put together and become a Sihung Green Way which makes the city's leisure space a belt. Apportioning the six reservoirs development levels in order to balance the development, accumulating and arranging buildings and facilities in available spaces according to the governing law, and creating resting area, promenade and parking lot to make an eco-city. Also the report suggests conserving environment and regulating contamination such as ban on fishing to move forward sustainable development. Since the adventives predominate the site, introducing indigenous plants should be necessary soon.
The purpose of this research was to find out relation between the attitudes toward work and leisure in later life and intention to move to senior community available to work among 50's in Seoul, Incheon, and Kyunggido. The same research questions would be revealed as the previous one done by Cho & Cho(2006). The data were the part of the survey collected from 556 respondents with questionnaire during November, 2002 by the Hong's research team(2004). The results of this study showed that most respondents were somewhat actively preparing toward work in later life and the level of preparation differed by the individual characteristics such as age, health and occupation. They preferred various work items specially managing facility center, raising animals and plants, and managing educating center, which were different from what current elderly workers were mainly involved in. Similarly to the work, most respondents cared for the kind of leisure activities to continue and saved money for the leisure expenses in later life. The better the economic conditions, the more actively prepared for leisure in later life. They were strongly expected to participate in public leisure facilities and programs for the elderly as a user, volunteer, and/or activist. Over two thirds of the respondents preferred to work and live together in later life and over two out of five had intention to move to the senior community available to work. The more active in work and/or leisure in later life, the higher intention to work together and/or to move to the community. Those results generally supported the previous research showed that the needs of work and leisure in later life would be increased and varied, therefor housing for the elderly should considered work space and program as well as leisure. The further study was suggested to focus on the potential and current residents in the sample case of the comprehensive welfare town for the elderly by local administration.
This paper was intended to empirically identify problems with recreational sea fishing park facilities installed to help reinvigorate local economy of fishing villages in order to mitigate shortage of fishing facilities amid an increase in sea fishers and spur evolution of sea fishing into a marine leisure activity, on which basis this researcher presented direction for facility planning which is deemed necessary to map out the plan for sea fishing parks, along with measures designed to improve sea fishing park facilities. To analyze the problems related to sea fishing park facilities, we conducted a survey on facility operations involving 9 sea fishing parks and 2 sea ranches and had an investigative interview with facility manager. Moreover, a survey was conducted of fishers in 25 sea fishing places, including sea fishing park, fishing experience village, etc., in order to investigate their demand for facilities. The results of survey suggested that there was a significant demand for expansion of amenities such as safety facilities, toilets, lounge facilities, etc., which can accommodate the increase in the number of people fishing with family. Furthermore, the results showed that there was a huge demand for introduction of facilities aiding leisure activities in addition to facilities for fishing activities including education facilities such as fishing site at the corner exclusive for beginners, experiential facilities, camping site, seaside park, promenade, etc. Thus, sea fishing park should be the complex leisure space with a focus on fishing activities and requires facility configuration and facility planning suited to activity requirements within fishing park.

And discussed the rational provision and coordination of public facilities as a guarantee of fundamental rights. As a result of the study, the rational supply and adjustment directions of public facilities are as follows. First, there are problems such as high availability of management, finance, shopping, and health facilities, lack of culture, leisure, community facilities, and weakening of center function. Therefore, in the continuing declining population situation, face management, safety and health facilities should be upgraded to multifunctional facilities, and utilization efficiency and integration should be promoted. In addition, town center rehabilitation should be centered on multifunctional facilities. In addition, elementary schools will have to utilize and preserve them to take advantage of local cultural values as nostalgia storing place that provide incentives for young people and elementary school children in the future. This study aims to provide the basic materials for the development of leisure and tourism contents in connection with Osaek cableway for the revitalization of Osaek District. For such a purpose, the following policy directions were presented through the analysis of the present situation and conditions of Osaek District, the direction of development of leisure and tourism contents of Osaek District, etc. The first is increasing the participation of local residents and reinforcing their capabilities. The suggested promotion plans are ① establishing organizational system and strengthening support, ② reinforcing the capabilities of local residents and ③ constructing networks with external human resources. The second is setting the guidelines for contents development. It was proposed to prepare contents for leisure experience using the natural environment of Osaek District in response to the trend of increase of people who enjoy "contents using culture and arts" and leisure. The third is typological approach to contents. It was proposed to develop cultural contents with the theme of Osaek such as "Osaek Light Festival", "Osaek Concert", "Osaek Photo Exhibition" and "Osaek Good Men and Women Contest" for the promotion of the brand of the place name of Osaek and the creation of the "Picture Book Village" for the compilation of the history and culture of Osaek District with pictures. The fourth is securing marketing channels. For this, it was proposed to produce the website of Yangyang County or a website tentatively named as "Osaek-ri with Beautiful Osaek" and introduce an integrated travel product (transportation + lodging + foods + experience (hot spring, mineral water therapy, leisure experience, etc.) + purchasing local specialty products, etc.) composed of the leisure and tourism contents, transportation, lodging, foods, etc. of Osaek District through travel agencies. The final policy direction presented was phased implementation of the development and operation of the contents. Proposed policies include support of a consulting project to upgrade the organization of local residents; implementation of "Tourism Dure (Cooperative)" project for the solution of the problem of tourism in Osaek District by the residents themselves together using the space of culture and arts made by remodeling idle public and private facilities after benchmarking exemplary places; system improvement for the introduction of leisure and tourism contents appropriate for local conditions; and the establishment of a master plan for the introduction of various leisure and tourism contents in Osaek District.
This study is to investigate the determinants of consumption expenditure by considering potential expenditure factors such as socioeconomic, fishing village tourism behavior, motivation for visits, and optional attributes of tourists at Muchangpo webfoot octopus and finespotted flounder festival in Boryeong. The analysis data are 300 questionnaires of visitors to the festival during the 2018 Muchangpo Mysterious Sea Road Webfoot Octopus and Finespotted Flounder Festival from March 17 to April 8, 2018. As a result of analyzing the factors of consumption expenditure of tourists to the festival in Boryeong, socioeconomic factors such as gender and residential groups outside Chungcheong-do have a positive (+) effect on consumption expenditure. Among the factors of fishing village tourism behavior, the only number of days of stay more than one night has a positive (+) effect on consumption expenditure. In addition, in the analysis of factors for motivation to visit the festival, fun/interest and simple rest/leisure have a significant positive (+) effect on expenditure whereas stress relief have a negative (-) effect on expenditure. In the analysis of the factors of festival selection attributes, tourism facilities has a significant positive (+) effect on expenditure, but natural scenery and excellent natural scenery show a significant negative (-) effect on expenditure. The main implications that can be obtained from the results of this study are as follows. First, it suggests that the promotion should be actively conducted outside of Chungcheong Province in order to achieve the original purpose of revitalizing the local economy from the Muchangpo webfoot octopus and finespotted flounder festival. Second, it indicates that there should be a variety of unique high-quality festival programs differentiated from other local festivals, promoting the existence of simple rest/leisure facilities rather than webfoot octopus boat fishing experiences or natural scenery (i.e., mysterious road and sunset) in order to attract festival tourists' spending at the Muchangpo webfoot octopus and finespotted flounder festival.
