Objectives: The objective of this study was to identify the factors associated with suicidal ideation among the elderly living alone received the elderly care service in a rural area. Methods: This study was surveyed 206 the elderly living alone who received the elderly care service in G-gun, Jeollanamdo. The collected data were socio-demographic and health-related characteristics, family support and suicidal ideation. The used methods for statistical analysis were used t-test, analysis of variance, Pearson's correlational analysis and the multiple logistic regression analysis. Results: In univariate analysis, the suicidal ideation of the elderly living alone was statistically significant associated with age, monthly income, sufficiency of sleeping, depression, stress, activities of daily living, instrumental activities of daily living, perceived health status and family support. As a result of multiple regression analysis, the associated factors with suicidal ideation were age, depression, stress and the activities of daily living. Conclusions: The suicidal ideation of the elderly living alone in the rural area was associated with age, mental health and independency of living. It will be needed the multidisciplinary approaches to prevent the suicidal ideation and attempts of the elderly living alone.

The purpose of this study was to know dysfunctions degree, daily living activity, depression and quality of life among stroke elderly person; and to know what kind of factors affecting to quality of life of the stroke elderly person; after that provide a fundamental data to nursing arbitration plan about increase height quality of life of the stroke elderly person. The study subjects were collected 119 people, over than 60 age, who were diagnosed with stoke in D hospital, living in B city. The data was collected by using personal interviews and questionnaire, from Nov 2008 to Jan 2009. The questionnaire were Pre-Stroke MRDS(Modified Rankin Disability Scale), Barthel-ADL(Activities of Daily Living), K-IADL(Korean-Instrumental Activities of Daily Living), GDS-15(Geriatric Depression Scale-15-question form) methods. The pre-stroke MRDS was appeared a functional obstacle. The mean score of activity of daily living was 18.24 which showed the subjects were mildly disabled, the score of instrumental activities of daily living was 7.94 which showed the mildly abled, and score of depressiveness was 7.41 which showed the subjects were mildly depression. There was a significantly correlation among MRDS, ADL, IADL, depressiveness and quality of life. Through these study result, important to check the old subjects' depressiveness, cognitive functions, daily living abilities, dysfunctions degree to main tain their quality of life.

South Korea, a rapidly ageing country, faces increasing dementia rate as the incidence of dementia increases with ageing. Service design is an effective method to develop dementia service by visualizing and specifying intangible forms of service. The Design Council in the U.K. carried out dementia solution projects such as 'living with dementia' in 2011 and 'transform aging' in 2016, introducing successful services and innovative products. Seeking useful implications, this paper explores the concept and method of service design focusing on the U.K. cases. To suggest solutions on dementia, effective strategies should be set up on the basis of service design, which embodies various stake holders' cooperation and partnership.

Recent advances in medical science have made people live longer, which has affected many aspects of life, such as caregiver burden, increasing cost of healthcare, increasing number of disabled and depressive disorder persons, and so on. Researchers are now focused on elderly living assistance services in smart home environments. In recent years, assisted living technologies have rapidly grown due to a faster growing aging society. Many smart devices are now interconnected within the home network environment and such a home setup supports collaborations between those devices based on the Internet of Things (IoT). One of the major challenges in providing elderly living assistance services is to consider each individual's requirements of different needs. In order to solve this, the virtualization of physical things, as well as the collaboration and composition of services provided by these physical things should be considered. In order to meet these challenges, Web of Objects (WoO) focuses on the implementation aspects of IoT to bring the assorted real world objects with the web applications. We proposed a semantic modelling technique for manual and semi-automated service composition. The aim of this work is to propose a framework to enable RESTful web services composition using semantic ontology for elderly living assistance services creation in WoO based smart home environment.

This study focused on the generational change of elderly people in the future based on the changes of aging background and household structure. After 2025, when the growth rate of aging rapidly becomes prominent, the generation born before 1961, the baby boomers who were in their youth after the country's liberation, will replace the current elderly generation. This means that the characteristics and values of living of the elderly will change and not pass on to the future, and that the demand for housing will also be different. The purpose of this study is to predict the future elderly housing demand and to find out the issues of housing support for elderly people and necessary institutional support items. For this purpose, the preliminary elderly people are surveyed and analyzed for their present housing condition, perception of old age, housing plan, welfare facilities and demand for living services. The results of this study are meaningful in laying the groundwork for predicting the demand for housing and living support of the elderly in the future and proposing suggestions and preparing related systems.

This study was conducted to investigate the effects of service quality and food quality on purchase intention in the electronic commerce of food products. Specifically, the relationship between purchase intention and food quality and service quality was tested based on customer satisfaction and trust, which were measured using the structural equation modeling method. Quality of service was found to affect purchase intention; however, food quality had no positive effects on purchase. Additional analyses should be conducted owing to the conflicting results of the present study. Although the amount of food bought online is increasing rapidly every year, research regarding online food purchasing is not being actively conducted. The results of the present study will help food sellers, buyers, and researchers.

The purpose of this study were to identify the differences between the demand for education program and the demand for counseling program of family welfare and to analyze the relation between demographic characteristics and the demand for family welfare service program For these purposes, total sample of 909 women those residing in Seoul, Inchon, Taejun, Taegu, Pusan, Kwangju, Chungju, Junju and Choonchun, were selected. Statistics were frequencies, means, percentile, cross-tabulation, t-test and Anova. The results were as follows. First, in family welfare service program on children and adolescents, the improvement in family living, consumption, retirement planning, health management, protection of environment and resource, volunteering and the advance of living culture, the demand for education program were higher than the demand for cunseling program. In particular, demands for both education program and counseling program on children and adolescents were the highest. Second, age, residence and income had very significant effects on the demands for both education program and counseling program. By understanding these differences in the demand for education program and counseling program of family welfare, practitioners and educators may be able to develop family welfare service program to solve family problems.

The smart phone has already proliferated, and the smart devices of the living appliances and vehicles embedded with communication device, sensors and connected with the smart phone have been developed. Currently it can provide simple remote controller and user interfaces, it could be envisaged that intelligent technology is converged with the smart phone, and Personal Environment Service in which the smart devices are configured automatically as reflecting personal preference, device attribute, and living environment condition would be activated in the future. In this paper PES services, system architecture, and core technology are described.

Service R&D that adds high value to existing products and service by scientification, IT convergence, intellectualization is a core business of creative economy. It is necessary to examine the service R&D revitalization plan by establishing service R&D hub researching the service R&D because a shortage of facility and infrastructure makes impossible to turn ideas into products (service). This research aims at establishing the implementation plan of service R&D hub that invigorates local service industries and contributes to carry out the plan. Service R&D hub is a focal point of service R&D activities which inter-connects service R&D activities distributed across ministries of central government and fields of studies, and which invigorates service R&D activities and enhances competitive power of service industries in Korea. It is necessary to establish main hub like Service Engineering Research Center in Japan and Fraunhofer IAO in Germany which take the lead in national service R&D activities, and make it build the solid foundation of service R&D activities in public sector and also create service innovation ecosystem. Considering the interdisciplinary characters of service R&D, it is essential to establish additional sub-hubs to meet a variety of demands of service R&D. It is also necessary to establish 'Living Lab', an open innovation system, which connects research institutions, universities, and corporates to make them target the specific fields of their own, and enhance open R&D and innovation in service industries.

The purpose of this study is to verify the effect of service quality and social support on users' satisfaction senior citizen hall according to the gender of the senior citizen. The research target is 309 senior citizens living in Uiwang, Gyeonggi Province, and the survey was conducted from March 1 to March 31, 2019. Data analysis was performed using the SPSS 21.0 program. The main results of this study are as follows: First, the living and residential patterns of the elderly women were investigated with a significant influence on the usability of the elderly. Second, in social support, the relationship of friends among elderly women has been statistically significantly verified for their users' satisfaction. Third, the reliability and assurance of the elderly and male in the service quality were identified as a statistically significant level. Therefore, in order to increase the users' satisfaction with the elderly as a welfare leisure facility for the elderly in the local community, it will be necessary to stabilize their living and living patterns, further activate their friendships, and provide them with a focus on reliability and assurance. Through this, the implications were presented for enhancing the users' satisfaction of senior citizens hall.
