The Christian Education Counseling Department and the general Education Counseling Department are often combined with departments such as Christian Education, Youth, Children and Youth, and Lifelong Education, with the characteristics of convergence majors, so the basic subjects of the department were analyzed to have a higher percentage of subjects than counseling subjects. The results of the analysis showed that both departments lacked a considerable number of subjects related to counseling practical training. In the counseling course, the subjects of personal analysis, education analysis, counseling ethics, and counseling case super-vision for the professional development of counselors are still lacking, according to the analysis. In order to train counselors, it was analyzed that the system of systematic clinical practice system, various counseling analysis for counselor education, and the expansion of super vision subjects were urgently needed. In a modern society where the demand for counseling and the need for counseling experts are increasing as society becomes more complex, it is hoped that Korean universities will be able to actively contribute and cooperate in developing models of counseling education and training counseling experts through them, focusing on standardized indicators for fostering counselors.

This study used literature analysis of various studies, catalogs, documents of education universities in China and Korea. The results were as follows. Some common features in the teacher education curriculum were observed, such as the purposes of education, constituent area of the curriculum, and subjects, such as pedagogy and practice teaching. Other differences included that China requires more credits for graduation than Korea, but the elective subjects are assigned fewer credits. In both countries, it is necessary to increase the relevant subjects (pedagogy, practice teaching) for the specialty of a preliminary teacher and establish a permanent system for the curriculum needs of students. In terms of reform tendency, both countries should change the training concept and teacher education philosophy, mainly on enhancing quality-oriented education, emphasizing the students' sustainable self development ability, as well as attaching importance to concept of lifelong education. These results are expected to be helpful in improving the teacher education curriculum in China and Korea.

  • As a method of providing lifelong educational opportunities to working professionals, some legal provisions allowing for the establishment and management of an entrusted education system linked with college and corporation was duly approved in 1994. According to the recent trend in the military organization, to provide higher educational opportunities to noncommissioned officers and warrant officers with the purpose of inspiring their spirit and improving military capabilities has been much increased. Professional soldiers such as noncommissioned officers and warrant officers have a lot of problems to continue their attendance at school because of regular military maneuvers, constant alert status and long-term outdoor military training. Even more serious problem is that the current curriculums and some departments in college are not concurrent with the present job specifications and the military specialties of the individual soldier as well. The purpose of this paper is, therefore, to introduce a newly revised educational model that provides more viable academic courses and curriculums to military professionals along with a proposal for the establishment and management of long distance educational system within barracks, utilizing the latest information and telecommunication technology.
