The Teaching Plan Using Media Background Images of Geomorphology Unit: A Case of Movies, Drama and Entertainment Program (방송 영상물의 배경을 활용한 지형 단원 수업 방안: 영화, 드라마, 예능 프로그램을 중심으로)

  • If teachers should showed geomorphological landscape images familiar to students during geomorphology unit teaching in secondary geography education, it will have more effects on teaching. In this paper, we analyze whether teaching of geomorphology unit using media(movie, drama, entertainment program) background images familiar to students have an effect on understanding of teaching facts and interesting or not. Firstly, teaching using media data is effective in understanding of teaching facts and the results of examination taken after teaching improved. Secondly, teaching using media data is effective in interesting and understanding on geomorphological landscapes. Most students recognized this teaching method to be new and became to be interested in learning geomorphology unit, and answered that it was helpful to understand geomorphology unit.

  • Cultures mean communication. With the whole world communicating online simultaneously, international availability has also been required in education. Especially the social media including the YouTube has opened a new age of e-learning, if not intending to do so, and the curriculum of a college or a university has kept up with the needs of our time. This study contains domestic and international professional programs equipped with internalization of a curriculum. It has suggested a role of college of arts as a customized and specialized institution which offers students advanced skills of related international industries through an internationalization of a curriculum of media and arts. It also suggests that full-time faculties need to develop a program to secure an international expertise. It can be concluded that a shift of paradigm towards education industry through social media contributes to needs to secure an international availability of a curriculum.

  • The application of reflex media in education has been widely used in the aspects of teaching & learning method, humanitarian education and the culture of school lives. It has been resulted from the generality of the applicable scope within conveying the information, propagation velocity, and the efficiency of the amount of conveyable information through the reflex. To utilize this kind of efficiency of reflex media in producing new graduation culture, I intend to show students the graduate reflex including their 3years' school lives and try to find out its effect from them. And then with this result I have studied the changes of the students' behavior in the graduation ceremony. As a result It is shown that the intent of graduation reflex which aims to look back into their past and keep in mind it has been reflected to students. In addition it is prove ascertain their friendship and love for their school have been lifted while watching the reflex with transferring the media image message.

  • User interactions are being developed in various forms, and in particular, interactions using human gestures are being actively studied. Among them, hand gesture recognition is used as a human interface in the field of realistic media based on the 3D Hand Model. The use of interfaces based on hand gesture recognition helps users access media media more easily and conveniently. User interaction using hand gesture recognition should be able to view images by applying fast and accurate hand gesture recognition technology without restrictions on the computer environment. This paper developed a fast and accurate user hand gesture recognition algorithm using the open source media pipe framework and machine learning's k-NN (K-Nearest Neighbor). In addition, in order to minimize the restriction of the computer environment, a stereoscopic image control system based on user hand gesture recognition was designed and implemented using a web service environment capable of Internet service and a docker container, a virtual environment.

  • Students can successfully connect with one another thanks to the introduction of Web 2.0 and the tools and technology linked with it. The fact that rising digital tools are systematically influencing the education system is not a secret. The purpose of the research article efficiently evaluates the influence of incorporation of media in the activities of the scientific library of the higher education institution. The research Methodology is the Concepts, techniques, and procedures to effectively inculcate primary and secondary data to conduct the research effortlessly. It's worth noting that in this case, quantitative primary research was provided in the form of a survey. The researchers have proposed a survey in order to successfully instil a comprehensive view on the "incorporation of media in the operations of the scientific library of higher education institutions." As a result, fifty-one higher education institution principals were asked to attend this session. This is necessary to understand that they are both well-educated and cognizant of the impact of technology innovation on schooling. As a result, the researchers were able to gain a comprehensive view of this situation thanks to this survey. The results effectively showed that most of the participants believe that social media plays a vital role in shaping up higher education and at the same time they believe that the libraries of famous educational institutions must adapt as per the new educational trend so that teachers and students both can tap into its benefit.The practical significance of the result is manoeuvred by the efficient survey analysis and at the same time, peer-reviewed journals have been employed to put forward authentic information. Therefore, efficient insight regarding this topic has been gathered by the researchers.

  • The representative companies mentioned in the recommendation service in the domestic OTT(Over-the-top media service) market are YouTube and Netflix. YouTube, through various methods, started personalized recommendations in earnest by introducing an algorithm to machine learning that records and uses users' viewing time from 2016. Netflix categorizes users by collecting information such as the user's selected video, viewing time zone, and video viewing device, and groups people with similar viewing patterns into the same group. It records and uses the information collected from the user and the tag information attached to the video. In this paper, we propose a method to improve video media recommendation by automatically generating metadata of video media that was written by hand.

A Deep Learning-Based Rate Control for HEVC Intra Coding

  • This paper proposes a rate control algorithm for intra coding frame in HEVC encoder using a deep learning approach. The proposed algorithm is designed for CTU level bit allocation in intra frame by considering visual features spatially and temporally. Our features are generated using visual geometry group (VGG-16) with deep convolutional layers, then it is used for bit allocation per each CTU within an intra frame. According to our experiments, the proposed algorithm can achieve -2.04% Luma component BD-rate gain with minimal bit accuracy loss against the HM-16.20 rate control model.

  • 본 논문에서는 임베디드 시스템에서의 양자화 기계학습을 수행할 경우 발생하는 양자화 오차를 효과적으로 보상하기 위한 방법론을 제안한다. 경사 도함수(Gradient)를 사용하는 기계학습이나 비선형 신호처리 알고리즘에서 양자화 오차는 경사 도함수의 조기 소산(Early Vanishing Gradient)을 야기하여 전체적인 알고리즘의 성능 하락을 가져온다. 이를 보상하기 위하여 경사 도함수의 최대 성분에 대하여 직교하는 방향의 보상 탐색 벡터를 유도하여 양자화 오차로 인한 성능 하락을 보상하도록 한다. 또한, 기존의 고정 학습률 대신, 내부 순환(Inner Loop) 없는 비선형 최적화 알고리즘에 기반한 적응형 학습률 결정 알고리즘을 제안한다. 실험결과 제안한 방식의 알고리즘을 비선형 최적화 문제에 적용할 시 양자화 오차로 인한 성능 하락을 최소화시킬 수 있음을 확인하였다.

Robust Algorithms for Combining Multiple Term Weighting Vectors for Document Classification

  • Term weighting is a popular technique that effectively weighs the term features to improve accuracy in document classification. While several successful term weighting algorithms have been suggested, none of them appears to perform well consistently across different data domains. In this paper we propose several reasonable methods to combine different term weight vectors to yield a robust document classifier that performs consistently well on diverse datasets. Specifically we suggest two approaches: i) learning a single weight vector that lies in a convex hull of the base vectors while minimizing the class prediction loss, and ii) a mini-max classifier that aims for robustness of the individual weight vectors by minimizing the loss of the worst-performing strategy among the base vectors. We provide efficient solution methods for these optimization problems. The effectiveness and robustness of the proposed approaches are demonstrated on several benchmark document datasets, significantly outperforming the existing term weighting methods.

  • The focus of the present study is to seek the ways of using popular culture for teaching mathematics. Thus, this study theoretically investigated concepts of popular culture and the meanings of using popular culture for mathematics teaching and learning. And the current study analyzed both the influence of popular culture of mathematics learning and how mathematics is represented through popular culture. Finally, this study suggested teaching models using popular culture and implications for further research in mathematics education about popular culture.
