  • This study focuses on how to introduce the concept of Information Commons(IC) into school libraries in order to help them Perform their roles required to satisfy new types of their users' demands. It intends to examine the concept of IC to draw the IC elements applicable to school libraries and propose a feasible model for them. The main objects of this study are school libraries and Information Commons. In particular, this study brings the derivation of IC elements and the construction of an IC model for school libraries into focus. This study sorted the three factors by peculiarities of school libraries. Each classification is as follows: physical elements were divided into learning space, creation space, community space, and service counters; human resources were divided into teacher-librarian. IT engineers, and student assistants; and services were divided into information literacy training and integrated, collaborative services. Based upon the derived IC constituents, it proposed a diagram that outlines the IC services concept for school libraries, an IC model and an IC floor plan for them.

  • MOOCs become an innovative counterproposal of higher education while leading qualitative and quantitative expansion of open courses. KOCW which has adapted for providing open courses in Korea is expected to be evolved along with the development of MOOCs. However, there is a chance to have a conflict or resistance if MOOCs will be transferred without considering domestic situations or opening of universities' classes won't be able to evolve in OCW environment anymore. In this case, it will be hard to take advantages of MOOCs' that provide opportunities for embodying popularization and individualization of education. Thus, it is important to develop strategies for employing recent trends of MOOCs in Korean environment for the sustainable development of higher education. In this paper, design elements required for Korean MOOCs has been studied through SWOT analysis.

  • Identifying the referents of omitted elements in a text is an important task to many natural language processing applications such as machine translation, information extraction and so on. These omitted elements are often called zero anaphors or zero pronouns, and are regarded as one of the most common forms of reference. However, since all zero elements do not refer to explicit objects which occur in the same text, recent work on zero anaphora resolution have attempted to identify the anaphoricity of zero pronouns. This paper focuses on intra-sentential anaphoricity determination of subject zero pronouns that frequently occur in Korean. Unlike previous studies on pair-wise comparisons, this study attempts to determine the intra-sentential anaphoricity of zero pronouns by learning directly the structure of clauses in which either non-anaphoric or inter-sentential subject zero pronouns occur. The proposed method outperforms baseline methods, and anaphoricity determination of zero pronouns will play an important role in resolving zero anaphora.

  • The development of artificial intelligence technology and the shift to a software-driven society are raising the need for digital literacy education on how to access, understand, use, create and share new open content in a variety of sustainable open content. At this point in time, this paper defines the digital literacy as the subliteracy concept for data, tools, and device elements. It is defined as a concept that includes cognitive and non-cognitive abilities and is stratified by computer literacy, ICT literacy, and information literacy. Open content is also defined as teaching-learning materials that can be used and shared freely by anyone, such as the Open Education Resource (OER) and the Open Access movement. Based on the two definitions, a three-step strategy for digital literacy education was developed to select open content in the digital environment, followed by a digital literacy education plan, and finally, an education frame to foster digital literacy capabilities.

  • This study divided video content of current representative YouTube channels on Chinese language education into internal and external elements for analysis. By examining these channels, this study found that they have various external and internal elements. In addition, YouTube classes also have certain distinct characteristics that are non-existent in traditional classroom or face-to-face classes, and show potential to serve as a new educational medium that can fill the gaps in existing classroom classes. However, a large number of these channels still have problems with their internal and external elements, which seem to require not only the effort and attention of the instructors creating the videos, but also considerable time and human and material resources.

  • This paper adopts a new approach in which nonlinear vibrations can be controlled using fuzzy controllers by optimal grey evolutionary algorithm. If the fuzzy controller cannot stabilize the systems, then the high frequency is injected into the system to assist the controller, and the system is asymptotically stabilized by adjusting the parameters. This paper uses the GM (grey model) and the neural network prediction model. The structure of the neural network is improved from a single factor, and multiple data inputs are extended to various factors and numerous data inputs. The improved model expands the applicable range of uncontrolled elements and improves the accuracy of controlled prediction, using the model that has been trained and stabilized by multiple learning. The simulation results show that the improved gray neural network model has higher prediction accuracy and reliability than the traditional GM model, improving controlled management and pre-control ability. In the combined prediction, the time series parameters and the predicted values obtained from the GM (1,1) (Grey Model of first order and one variable) are simultaneously used as the input terms of the neural network, considering the influence of the non-equal spacing of the data, which makes the results of the combined gray neural network model more rationalized. By adjusting the model structure and system parameters to simulate and analyze the controlled elements, the corresponding risk change trend graphs and prediction numerical calculation results are obtained, which also realize the effective prediction of controlled elements. According to the controlled warning principle and objective, the fuzzy evaluation method establishes the corresponding early warning response method. The goals of this paper are towards access to adequate, safe and affordable housing and basic services, promotion of inclusive and sustainable urbanization and participation, implementation of sustainable and disaster-resilient buildings, sustainable human settlement planning and manage.

  • The physical computing education, as the emerging field, is a form of education that helps learners to develop the attitude of scientific inquiry by developing meaningful and creative output through the integration of hardware and software elements. Based on the literature, the authors of the study used science experience, school support and learning flow as the variables that predict the outcome variable which is the attitude of scientific inquiry. The authors collected data from 64 fourth and sixth graders who studied physical computing at an institution for the gifted and talented in Korea and then analyzed them using descriptive statistics, correlation, multiple regression and simple mediation analysis methods. As a result, science experience and learning flow significantly predicted the attitude of scientific inquiry. In addition, learning flow mediated the relationship between science experience and the attitude of scientific inquiry, and the relationship between school support and the attitude of scientific inquiry. Based on these results, the authors propose that to promote the attitude of scientific inquiry in physical computing education, strategies must be implemented for improving science experience, school support and learning flow in instructional design.

  • In this research, 'Construction Technology and Environment' units in 12 different technology home economics textbooks for 1st~3rd year middle school students under the 2009 Revised Educational Curriculum and the content system of textbooks were analyzed based on Reigeluth's elaboration theory, and the following conclusions were derived. First, each of the 12 different textbooks presented the elaboration process by procedural method and composed the content system. Second, the 'Construction Technology and Environment' unit presented many 'Thought Opening' as the systematization strategy of advance learning ability, and 'Unit Summary' presented at the end of the unit as the use strategy of the summarizer was presented preponderantly. In addition, 'Learning Objective' that represents the degree of achievement of the students after learning the unit was presented most as the use strategy of the synthesizer although there are differences in terms. In all of the textbooks, 'Figure,' 'Table,' 'Diagram', and 'Explanation of Terms' were used, and particularly, in the vitalizer strategy of the cognitive strategy, overwhelmingly greater number of 'Figure's, compared with all other elements, were presented as the vitalizer strategy of cognitive strategy. Finally, 'Compensatory Learning,' and 'In-depth Study' were presented as the learner control strategy in each of the 4 different textbooks, and there was one textbook that presents the term 'Supplement Reinforcement' in which compensatory learning and in-depth learning were integrated. Third, the metaphor utilization strategy among the 7 teaching strategies of the elaboration theory was hardly used in the composition items in units of textbooks.

  • This study was to identify the influence of knowledge acquisition on creativity in an organization. We selected the learning orientation among variables related to the acquisition of knowledge and analyzed the moderating effects of motivation in the mediating process of learning orientation, professional knowledge, creative thinking ability, and the relationship between them. To this end, a research model and hypothesis were established through literature studies, and 296 questionnaires were distributed and collected from Daegu and Gyeongbuk to test hypotheses. As a result of the verification through hierarchical regression analysis, it was confirmed that learning orientation has a positive effect on creative thinking skill, and expertise has a mediating effect. And in this mediation relationship, the moderating effect of motivation was confirmed. These findings are suggestive by checking the relationship between the elements in the expression of creativity in detail and identifying the influence of learning orientation. It will be able to provide guidelines for organizational management by explaining the process of creativity through the development of knowledge.
