The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of the CoRe-based density unit class on conceptual formation and on learner satisfaction with the class. For this study, two hundred and forty 8th grade students were chosen from six classes. The students were divided into two groups: an experimental group, which received a CoRe-based density unit lesson, and a control group, which was taught based on traditional teaching method. The CoRe-based density unit classes consisted of 4 periods based on the analysis of the previous studies on CoRe about density. The results showed the meaningful significant difference between the CoRe-based classes and the classes based on traditional teaching method both in the posttest on the extent of the conceptual formation on the density and in the retention test. The difference suggests that the lesson with CoRe is based on the consideration of the difficulties and limitations students face in various fields such as the students themselves, teachers, learning environment, evaluation, etc. during their learning process and even in the types of preconception they have, and the CoRe-based lesson is centered around the best teaching strategies to solve such difficulties. As a result of the analysis on the experimental group's class satisfaction, it is revealed that the students with a high level of attitudes related science or with a high level of science achievement showed especially high satisfaction in their learning. Analysis of questionnaire survey showed that the students in the experimental group got the opportunity through CoRe-based lesson to stretch their thoughts and ideas in a free way and preferred a teaching method which didn't just show the concept, but allowed them to find it for themselves or which let them predict the solution and then confirm the result on their own and a lesson which encouraged their active participation.
The purpose of this study was to suggest efficient method for development of learner's self-directed learning ability through literature review on self-directed learning, component of self-directed learning, development of self-directed learning ability, design education steps adopting problem based learning and project based learning. This study was conducted through literature review on self-directed learning and development of self-directed learning, design education. Design education and project based learning process and problem based learning to extract the items that are common to bring out five steps, and differences in levels of learners based on self-learning led to Grow(1991) model to connect the lessons of 9 steps present the design education steps, that is, the learners ready for learning, the definition of problem and recognition of necessity, team building, related data collection, team learning about real problem with the teacher, select optimal solution, student-centered discussion, models and product creation, testing and evaluation, complement.
This study was conducted to analyze the subjective perception types of college students majoring in cooking by applying flip-learning teaching and learning methods to the subject of cooking practice to improve the educational efficiency of cooking-related classes. Also, in order to study subjective perception of small students, we tried to grasp the common structure in subjective attitude and perception using Q methodology, and the analysis resulted in four types. Type 1 (N=5): Problem solving ability effect, Type 2 (N=6): Self-directed learning effect, Type 3 (N=3): Mutual cooperation practice effect, Type 4 (N=6) ): Theory learning effect was analyzed for each unique feature type. Flip-learning is applied to cooking practice classes, which is a learner-centered education that leaves the traditional teaching method. Interest was found to have a very positive effect on learners' opinion sharing and learning outcomes. However, it was revealed that all students need to find additional solutions to problems such as the operation plan for flipped learning and the free ride evaluation method in group learning.

Although many attempts have been made to use the Internet for educational purposes, not many attempts have achieved their goals. Such failure is mainly due to the lack of understanding on the way to use the Internet. The goal of this research is to investigate the potentiality of the Project-Based Learning approach using the Internet(NetPBL) and the ways to utilize the NetPBL. The NetPBL can be utilized through various activities such as keypals, mentoring, use of resources, cooperative learning, publishing, survey and data analysis, cooperative problem solving, simulation, and social action. Such diversity of the NetPBL can create a problem-based, context-based and learner-centered environment, which takes various types of the Internet use. In spite of such potentiality, little is known on how to implement the NetPBL. On this point, this research attempts to synthesize instructional strategies to implement the NetPBL at the macro and the micro level. At the macro level, instructional process is divided into four steps such as plan, preparation, implementation and closure, and some instructional suggestions are made for each step. At the micro level, detailed instructional strategies are suggested for the facilitation of self-directed learning and cooperative learning.

This study aims to develop the NABI program, which can be applied to science education in school, to realize 'Science Education through Nature' for today's students. The first NABI program was developed based on the viewpoints of education and teaching methods of Nature-Study, and it was revised as the second NABI program through experts' workshop. The second NABI program was applied to 24 third-grade students of an elementary school. The possibility of applying the program to school science education was explored through the analysis of students' qualitative data, along with surveys that were completed by 24 students and 79 current teachers. As a result of applying the program, students were curious about and communed with nature. The program could also realize the learner-centered education and integration of subjects, science with literature and art. The students were interested and wanted to continually participate in the NABI program. The teachers' evaluation of the program deduced that the relationship between the program presenting Nature-Study ideologies could be applied to science education in school. In conclusion, it was found that the NABI program was well reflected in the scope of the Nature-Study, and it can be applied to science education in school. The NABI program proceeds in nine steps: 'Accepting - Choosing - Selecting the common subject - Ice Breaking - Making relationship - Observing - Scaffolding - Expressing - Sharing'. The NABI program is a good way to realize the essence of science education, 'Science Education through Nature', for today's students.

This study analyzed the trends in home economics education research using the language network analysis method, focusing on papers published in the KCI list for 20 years from 2000 to 2019. A total of 501 home economics education papers analyzed through word cloud, centrality analysis, and topic modeling using NetMiner 4.4, and the results are as follows. First, the number of papers in home economics education published in the KCI listing increased gradually to 186 in the 2000s and 315 in the 2010s. The academic journals in which home economics education papers were published have been diversified to 16 in the 2000s and 22 in the 2010s. 60% of all papers were published in the 'Journal of Korean Home Economics Education Association', and since 2018, the number of papers published in the 'Journal of Learner-Centered Curriculum and Instruction' has increased dramatically. Second, in the 2000s and 2010s, home economics education studies published in KCI were categorized into home economics education content analysis, home economics educational program development & application, curriculum analysis, perception survey & direction exploration. In the 2000s, 'Home Economics Teacher' appeared as the main keyword, and a lot of perception survey & direction exploration were conducted. Relatively, the influence of 'development' increased in the 2010s, and many studies were conducted to analyze home economics education contents and develop and apply home economics programs. This study has significance in that it analyzed the research trend of HEE by expanding the analysis target and analysis period of the existing studies.
The current curriculum in the 7th informatics, which simply highlights the use of applied programs rather than enhancing creativity through learning several principles in information science and thus making it hard to have optimism on the future as a powerhouse in IT. By diagnosing these problems, Education Ministry revised the existing curriculum to have a more scientific access to the informatics. However, the curricular revision fails to meet the needs of learners sufficiently because it tends to put the considerations of theoretical specialists before the learners them selves. This paper compares and analyzes the overall understanding of learners on informatics, current-curriculum and 7th revised curriculum and that of college-level, thus offering the student-centered one. Also, the research tries to bridge the opinion gap between developer and learner by looking into the understanding level of university majors about the current curriculum. In doing so, thesis may provide the basis on exploring new approaches and contribute to establishing 7th revised curriculum in school.
It is difficult for the learner to understand completely the ratio concept which forms a basis of proportional reasoning. And proportional reasoning is, on the one hand, the capstone of children's elementary school arithmetic and, the other hand, it is the cornerstone of all that is to follow. But school mathematics has centered on the teachings of algorithm without dealing with its essence and meaning. The purpose of this study is to analyze the essence of ratio concept from multidimensional viewpoint. In addition, this study will show the direction for improvement of ratio concept. For this purpose, I tried to analyze the historical development of ratio concept. Most mathematicians today consider ratio as fraction and, in effect, identify ratios with what mathematicians called the denominations of ratios. But Euclid did not. In line with Euclid's theory, ratio should not have been represented in the same way as fraction, and proportion should not have been represented as equation, but in line with the other's theory they might be. The two theories of ratios were running alongside each other, but the differences between them were not always clearly stated. Ratio can be interpreted as a function of an ordered pair of numbers or magnitude values. A ratio is a numerical expression of how much there is of one quantity in relation to another quantity. So ratio can be interpreted as a binary vector which differentiates between the absolute aspect of a vector -its size- and the comparative aspect-its slope. Analysis on ratio concept shows that its basic structure implies 'proportionality' and it is formalized through transmission from the understanding of the invariance of internal ratio to the understanding of constancy of external ratio. In the study, a fittingness(or comparison) and a covariation were examined as the intuitive origins of proportion and proportional reasoning. These form the basis of the protoquantitative knowledge. The development of sequences of proportional reasoning was examined. The first attempts at quantifying the relationships are usually additive reasoning. Additive reasoning appears as a precursor to proportional reasoning. Preproportions are followed by logical proportions which refer to the understanding of the logical relationships between the four terms of a proportion. Even though developmental psychologists often speak of proportional reasoning as though it were a global ability, other psychologists insist that the evolution of proportional reasoning is characterized by a gradual increase in local competence.

This research is to develop ethical clothes consumption education program that adopts PBL which is student centered professor-learning method where the learner actively participates in lessons to recognize problems and solve them. This research also tried to see the changes in the students' ethical clothes consumption awareness and problem solving skills and self-directed learning ability after applying this program to lessons. With total of four study topic, seven ethical clothes consumption education programs were developed, and the actual lesson was conducted in controlled group and experiment group. Summary of this research is as followed: First, ethical clothes consumption education program was developed using PBL. Second, teenagers' ethical clothes consumption awareness increased much more than before the course. As both the control group and the experiment group were proven to have high ethical clothes consumption involvement and awareness, it was possible to confirm there is a need for systematic and continuous consumption education at school. Third, when a post test on changes in problem solving ability and self-directed learning ability after applying PBL based ethical clothes consumption education program was conducted, students' problem solving ability was enhanced and both factors, the awareness and behavior of self-directed learning, showed significant difference.

The purpose of this research was to investigate the relationship between the change of beginning teachers' beliefs about a lesson and that of teaching practice and argument-based inquiry using science writing. Participants were three science teachers (A, B, and C) from different middle schools. Classroom observation and interview data were collected and transcribed for analysis. A Summary Writing test was also administered to examine whether there was an improvement in students' learning. The results indicated that the interaction between the teachers and their students developed, which is concluded as an improvement in the teaching practice. Teacher A and B also reported that teacher-student interaction had improved. Teacher A and C came to understand that argument-based inquiry using science writing classes constituted learner-centered instruction. The result from the Summary Writing Test showed the impact of the changes in teaching practice and in teachers' awareness of students' learning as well as produced meaningfully higher scores than compared groups on the rhetorical structure of all the specific areas in teacher A's school and on the scientific concept at B and C's schools.
