In this paper, we used a deep learning model to detect and segment flame and smoke in real time from fires. To this end, well known U-NET was used to separate and divide the flame and smoke of the fire using multi-class. As a result of learning using the proposed technique, the values of loss error and accuracy are very good at 0.0486 and 0.97996, respectively. The IOU value used in object detection is also very good at 0.849. As a result of predicting fire images that were not used for learning using the learned model, the flame and smoke of fire are well detected and segmented, and smoke color were well distinguished. Proposed method can be used to build fire prediction and detection system.
This study is to find a method to learn engine sound after the start-up of a diesel generator installed in nuclear power plant with an unsupervised deep learning algorithm (CNN autoencoder) and a new method to predict the failure of a diesel generator using it. In order to learn the sound of a diesel generator with a deep learning algorithm, sound data recorded before and after the start-up of two diesel generators was used. The sound data of 20 min and 2 h were cut into 7 s, and the split sound was converted into a spectrogram image. 1200 and 7200 spectrogram images were created from sound data of 20 min and 2 h, respectively. Using two different deep learning algorithms (CNN autoencoder and binary classification), it was investigated whether the diesel generator post-start sounds were learned as normal. It was possible to accurately determine the post-start sounds as normal and the pre-start sounds as abnormal. It was also confirmed that the deep learning algorithm could detect the virtual abnormal sounds created by mixing the unusual sounds with the post-start sounds. This study showed that the unsupervised anomaly detection algorithm has a good accuracy increased about 3% with comparing to the binary classification algorithm.

According to the growth of the service industry, stresses from emotional labor workers have been emerging as a social problem, thereby so-called the Emotional Labor Protection Act was implemented in 2018. However, insufficient substantial protection systems for emotional workers emphasizes the necessity of a digital stress management system. Thus, in this paper, we suggest a stress detection system for customer service representatives based on deep learning facial expression recognition. This system consists of a real-time face detection module, an emotion classification FER module that deep-learned big data including Korean emotion images, and a monitoring module that only visualizes stress levels. We designed the system to aim to monitor stress and prevent mental illness in emotional workers.

For maintenance of concrete structures, it is necessary to identify and maintain various defects. With the current method, there are problems with efficiency, safety, and reliability when inspecting large-scale social infrastructure, so it is necessary to introduce a new inspection method. Recently, with the development of deep learning technology for images, concrete defect classification research is being actively conducted. However, studies on contamination and spalling other than cracks are limited. In this study, a variety of concrete defect type classification models were developed through transfer learning on a pre-learned deep learning model, factors that reduce accuracy were derived, and future development directions were presented. This is expected to be highly utilized in the field of concrete maintenance in the future.

Arteriosclerosis is a disease in which the carotid vessel wall becomes thick, and it is important to monitor the thickness of the vessel wall for diagnosis. In this study, we propose a model for extracting 324 radiomics features from carotid MRI images and diagnosing arteriosclerosis using machine learning techniques. We learned a total of four classification models: logistic regression, support vector machine, random forest, and XGBoost through radiomics features. XGBoost model, which showed the highest performance in 5-fold cross-validation, shows the results of accuracy 0.9023, sensitivity 0.9517, specificity 0.8035, AUC 0.8776.

The future competitiveness of construction industry is dependent on K-12 students. However, unfavorable images of construction industry have negative influence on K-12 students' decision-making of their career. This negative image makes them not want to find out what actually happens in construction industry. Consequently, it is important to give K-12 students the opportunity to know what construction employees actually do in their job. Studies show that K-12 students who encounter the job early-on are more likely to choose it as their career. In this context, this paper proposes construction educational game in which it can serve as a medium for capturing K-12 students' interest in Construction Management (CM). Based on the literature reviews, challenges of construction educational game for K-12 students which are edutainment, hands-on experience and social interaction, are derived. To address these issues, conceptual model and scenario are designed. Based on designed scenario, prototype of Simulation based Construction Game in Virtual World (SCGVW) is developed in Second Life (SL) and applicability test to K-12 students are implemented. This paper concludes with a discussion of the lessons learned and the future development steps of the construction educational game for K-12 students.
Autonomous vehicles should recognize and respond to the specified speed to drive in compliance with regulations. To recognize the specified speed, the most representative method is to read the numbers of the signs by recognizing the speed signs in the front camera image. This study proposes a method that utilizes YOLO-Labeling-Labeling-EfficientNet. The sign box is first recognized with YOLO, and the numeric digit is extracted according to the pixel value from the recognized box through two labeling stages. After that, the number of each digit is recognized using EfficientNet (CNN) learned with the virtual environment dataset produced directly. In addition, we estimated the depth of information from the height value of the recognized sign through regression analysis. We verified the proposed algorithm using the virtual racing environment and GTSRB, and proved its real-time performance and efficient recognition performance.

Using CCTV images and weather parameters, a method for estimating PM (Particulate Matter) index was proposed, and an experiment was conducted. For CCTV images, we proposed a method of estimating the PM index by applying a deep learning technique based on a CNN (Convolutional Neural Network) with ROI(Region Of Interest) image including a specific spot and an full area image. In addition, after combining the predicted result values by deep learning with the two weather parameters of humidity and wind speed, a post-processing experiment was also conducted to calculate the modified PM index using the learned regression model. As a result of the experiment, the estimated value of the PM index from the CCTV image was R2(R-Squared) 0.58~0.89, and the result of learning the ROI image and the full area image with the measuring device was the best. The result of post-processing using weather parameters did not always show improvement in accuracy in all cases in the experimental area.
Recently, with the development of computing technology and the improvement of the cloud environment, deep learning technology has developed, and attempts to apply deep learning to various fields are increasing. A typical example is anomaly detection, which is a technique for identifying values or patterns that deviate from normal data. Among the representative types of anomaly detection, it is very difficult to detect a contextual anomaly that requires understanding of the overall situation. In general, detection of anomalies in image data is performed using a pre-trained model trained on large data. However, since this pre-trained model was created by focusing on object classification of images, there is a limit to be applied to anomaly detection that needs to understand complex situations created by various objects. Therefore, in this study, we newly propose a two-step pre-trained model for detecting abnormal situation. Our methodology performs additional learning from image captioning to understand not only mere objects but also the complicated situation created by them. Specifically, the proposed methodology transfers knowledge of the pre-trained model that has learned object classification with ImageNet data to the image captioning model, and uses the caption that describes the situation represented by the image. Afterwards, the weight obtained by learning the situational characteristics through images and captions is extracted and fine-tuning is performed to generate an anomaly detection model. To evaluate the performance of the proposed methodology, an anomaly detection experiment was performed on 400 situational images and the experimental results showed that the proposed methodology was superior in terms of anomaly detection accuracy and F1-score compared to the existing traditional pre-trained model.

In order to improve the accuracy of the deep learning object detection technique, the effect of magnification rate conditions and seasonal factors on detection accuracy in aerial photographs and drone images was analyzed through experiments. Among the deep learning object detection techniques, Mask R-CNN, which shows fast learning speed and high accuracy, was used to detect the vehicle to be detected in pixel units. Through Seoul's aerial photo service, learning images were captured at different screen magnifications, and the accuracy was analyzed by learning each. According to the experimental results, the higher the magnification level, the higher the mAP average to 60%, 67%, and 75%. When the magnification rates of train and test data of the data set were alternately arranged, low magnification data was arranged as train data, and high magnification data was arranged as test data, showing a difference of more than 20% compared to the opposite case. And in the case of drone images with a seasonal difference with a time difference of 4 months, the results of learning the image data at the same period showed high accuracy with an average of 93%, confirming that seasonal differences also affect learning.
