A Delphi Approach to the Development of an Integrated Performance Measurement and Management Model for a Car Assembler

  • Today's dynamic competitiveness requires an organization to improve its performance measurement and management. Quality Management Systems (QMS) abound, the main ones being: ISO series, Malcolm Baldridge National Quality Award (MBNQA), European Forum for Quality Management (EFQM), Six Sigma Business Scorecard and the Balanced Scorecard. Based on the literature, the IPMMM (Integrated Performance Measurement and Management Model) identified 7 key synthesized factors: leadership, strategy management and policy, customer and market, learning and growth, partnership and resources, internal processes and business results that are employed to investigate the key performance indicators of a car assembler using the Delphi methodology. In the 2 rounds of Delphi panels consisting of 20 senior management personnel, the $1^{st}$ round of 198 indicators in the IPMMM yielded 90 indicators. The $2^{nd}$ round yielded 43 performance indicators with 18 rated as critical based on the % assigned in the $1^{st}$ and $2^{nd}$ priority rating of "very important factor" and "key performance indicator" that must be ranked high on both of the priorities. The very critical indicators appeared to be: defect percentage and first time capability (tie in $1^{st}$ place) and revenue, goal setting, customer satisfaction index, on-time delivery, brand image, return on investment, Claim Occurrence Ratio, and debt being ranked from $3^{rd}$ to $10^{th}$. It can be surmised that an organization can identify and develop an appropriate set of performance indicators through the Delphi methodology and implement and manage them based on the Balanced Scorecard.

Improvement Factors on Management Performance of Global Distribution Franchise Firms

  • Purpose - The purpose of this study is to derive the performance improvement factors of courier corporations that operate global franchise systems as business strategies through their brands and to determine. Research design, data, and methodology - In the first study, 129 valid questionnaire sheets were analyzed. In the second study intended to determine whether the four performance improvement factors derived in the first study have positive effects on franchisees' business performance, 781 valid questionnaire sheets secured from six GDFFs were analyzed using AMOS analysis. Results - In the first study, four performance improvement factors were derived. In the second study, hypotheses regarding whether the performance improvement factors: leadership, communication, education and training, and brand, have positive effects on franchisees' business performance were tested, and as a result, one hypothesis was rejected and three hypotheses were adopted. Conclusions - The first and largest contribution of this study is that it derived performance improvement factors from GDFFs. The second contribution is that it determined whether the performance improvement factors that were derived have positive effects on franchisees' business performance with tests. The third contribution is that it created significant implications in terms of other studies, research value, and applications in industry fields.

CEO Education-Performance Relationship: Evidence from Saudi Arabia

  • The study investigates the association between CEO education and firm performance with a sample of 85 nonfinancial firms listed on the Saudi stock exchange during 2018 applying ordinary least squares method. CEO education is defined by three variables, the level of education, if the degree-granting institution is domestic or foreign, and if the highest degree is in management or other fields of study. Financial performance is measured by return on assets and return on equity. Firm size, age, liquidity and growth are introduced as control variables. The study shows that 58 CEOs of the firms studied are graduates, 38 have obtained their degree from a domestic institution and 44 have a management degree. Graduate CEOs are found to enhance performance. Graduating from a domestic institution influences performance positively. Management degree of CEO does not seem to impact performance. Firm size, liquidity and growth are positively associated with performance. Firm age does not explain performance differences of firms. Results are robust to performance measures. The findings of the study suggest that firms can benefit from a CEO hiring policy that emphasizes on the minimum qualification set as graduation or higher, education from a domestic institution and no undue weight on management qualification.

개인-조직적합성 연구 동향 분석: SCOPUS DB를 중심으로 (Analyze Research Trends in Person-Organization Fit: Focusing on SCOPUS DB)

  • 본 연구는 개인-조직적합성에 대한 최근의 주요 연구 동향을 파악하는데 있으며, 학술 제공 데이터베이스인 SCOPUS를 활용하여 최근 24년간(2000~2023)의 개인-조직적합성에 대한 연구 동향을 파악하였다. 빈도 분석결과, organizational이 2,789건, effectiveness 2,714건, management 850건, performance 689건, organizations 632건, leadership 597건 순으로 그 중요도가 나타났다. 트랜드 분석 결과, fit, organization, job에 대한 연구가 꾸준히 진행되고 있는 것으로 나타났다. LDA 분석 결과, fit, personorganization(po), job이 중요한 토픽으로 나타났는데, 이는 조직의 운영에 있어서 개인과 조직의 목표나 가치가 일치하는 즉, 적합성이 중요하다는 것을 보여주고 있다. 본 연구결과는 조직에서 우수한 인력 유치와 양성을 위한 방향을 수립하고 이를 통해 조직의 성과를 창출하는데 있어 유용한 지침으로 활용가능 할 것으로 보인다.

온라인 뉴스를 이용한 기업평판 구성요인 탐색 및 지수 개발 연구 : 감성분석과 AHP적용 (Exploration of Constituent Factors for Corporate Reputation and Development of Index Using Online News : Sentiment Analysis and AHP Application)

  • Because of the recent development of information and communication technology, companies are exposed to various media such as blogs, social media, and YouTube. In particular, exposed news affects the company's reputation. So, while positive news can improve corporate value, negative news can lead to financial losses for the company. In this study, we redefine corporate reputation as social responsibility, vision and leadership, financial performance, products and services through existing literature, and conducted an AHP survey with a total of four components to calculate the weight of each factor. As a result of the calculation, the proportion of financial performance was the highest at 0.41, and products and services, vision and leadership, and social responsibility were the lowest. In addition, in order to measure the reputation of a company, it is classified as a component that defines online news using the LDA technique. In addition, through sentiment analysis, an index for each corporate reputation factor was derived, and the reputation index was calculated by combining it with the AHP analysis result, and Spearman ranking correlation analysis was performed to secure the validity of the research results. Therefore, the significance of this study is that the definition and importance of the constituent factors can contribute to the future planning and development direction of the company, and also contribute to the derivation of the corporate reputation index. This study is significant in that a new analysis methodology that applied AHP analysis results to sentiment analysis was suggested.

How Human Resource Agility Improves Distribution of Human Resource Performance at Private Universities in Indonesia

  • Purpose of this study is to examine how human resources agility affects the distribution of performance lecturers and education staff at private universities in Indonesia. Sample and data in this research is 389 respondents from 265.000 lecturers and academic workers in 3115 Private universities in Indonesia. Methodology in this study used the Structural Equation Model to analyze how human factors agility such as creativity, focus, effectivity, and efficiency have an influence on agility and performance. Results show that agility plays a very important role in improving the performance of lecturers and staff at private universities in Indonesia. It was found that human factors agility, where indicators such as creativity, focus, effectivity, and efficiency have an influence on the agility and performance of lecturers and staff at private universities in Indonesia. Conclusion from this research agility factors is important to improve the distribution of performance Lecturers and Staff's on Private University in Indonesia. Hopefully, in further research to other researcher add some other important variables such as the working environment and spirit of leadership in influencing agility as well as the performance of teachers and staff at Private Universities in Indonesia.

기업교육에서 블렌디드 학습의 효과성에 관한 연구 (Effectiveness of Blended Learning at Corporate Education & Training Setting)

  • 기업에서 실제로 수행된 블렌디드 학습(Blended Learning)의 효과성을 규명해보고 이를 토대로 온라인 학습과 오프라인 학습을 효과적으로 병행하기 위한 시사점을 도출하고자 본 연구가 수행되었다. 연구 목적을 달성하기 위해 블렌디드 학습의 효과성에 대한 설명적 혼합설계 방식으로 체제적 분석을 시도하였다. 블렌디드 학습의 효과에 대한 양적 분석 결과, 종합진단과 타인진단에서는 블렌디드 학습이 리더십 역량을 향상시키는데 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고, 사후 설문조사 및 핵심 면담대상자집단과의 면담 결과 블렌디드 학습의 유용성을 확인할 수 있었다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로, 블렌디드 학습 방식으로 운영한 프로그램의 분석을 통해 블렌디드 학습 효과에 영향을 주는 특성을 분석하고, 블렌디드 학습의 효과성 검증에 대한 방향을 제시하고자 하였다.

공기업의 지식관리 영향요인과 성과 간의 구조적 관계: 한국철도공사를 중심으로 (A Study on the Structural Relationships between the Antecedents of Knowledge Management and Performance in Public Enterprise: Focus on the KORAIL)

  • 본 연구에서는 공기업의 지식관리 영향요인, 지식관리 활동과 그 성과 간의 구조적 관계를 파악하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 정부기관 중 지식관리를 최초로 도입한 기관이자 공공부문 지식관리의 선도기관으로 평가받고 있는 한국철도공사 직원들을 대상으로 한 설문조사를 통해 실증분석을 시도하였다. 가설검증 결과, 지식관리 영향요인으로는 학습지향문화와 지식품질, KMS 품질 등이 지식창출 및 공유 활동 모두에 유의미한 영향요인으로 검증되었으며, 개인태도는 지식창출 활동에만 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 지식창출은 지식공유 활동에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 지식창출과 지식공유 모두 성과에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 분석결과를 토대로 본 연구에서는 지식창출 및 공유 활성화 방안을 제시하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 실시간 기업(Real Time Enterprise: RTE) 특성이 공급사슬성과에 미치는 영향에 대해 연구한다. 현재의 공급사슬 성과측정은 재무적, 비재무적, BSC, SCOR 측면에서 진행되고 있지만, 충분하지 못한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 제품품질, 인도속도, 프로세스 유연성, 가격리더십으로 측정되는 조합적 경쟁역량의 측면에서 SCM 성과를 측정하고자 하였다. 본 연구는 가시성, 민첩성, 조합적 경쟁역량의 변수들을 사용하여 다음과 같은 사실을 밝혔다: (i) 가시성은 민첩성에 유의한 영향을 미친다. (ii), 가시성은 조합적 경쟁역량에 유의한 영향을 미친다. (iii) 민첩성 또한 조합적 경쟁역량에 유의한 영향을 미친다.

대학병원직원의 지식경영활동과 성과에 관한 연구 (Knowledge Management Activity and Performance of University Hospital Employees)

  • Background: The efficient knowledge management in hospital organization is generally known as the important activities relevant to employees' knowledge sharing behavior and work performance. This research examined factors affecting employees' knowledge sharing behavior and work performance in top 4 university hospitals. This study is based on individual factors such as incentives, reciprocity, behavioral control, and subjective norms. Also, there are organizational factors such as CEO support, learning climate, IT system, rewards system, and trust. Methods: Data was collected from employees who are working at 3 hospitals university in Seoul and 1 university hospital in Gyeonggi-Do through the self-administered questionnaires. A total of 779 questionnaires were analyzed by PASW SPSS ver. 18.0. (SPSS Inc., Chicago, IL, USA). Results: The significant variables affecting knowledge sharing behavior are behavioral control (in individual factor) and CEO, IT system, and trust (in organization factor). Also the significant variables affecting work performance are incentives, reciprocity, subjective norms, and behavioral control (in individual factor) and CEO support, IT system, reward system, and trust (in organization factor). Conclusion: The personality and organization characteristics factors is important to improve knowledge sharing behavior and work performance of hospital employees. Therefore, to make more efficient knowledge management is to build and system knowledge sharing culture, system, and leadership and to develop practical strategies.
