This study aims to research the local characteristics of layout and floor plan at Hyangkyo Archiecture in Youngdong districts of Gangwon-do. Hyangkyo which were the institutional places of Chosun Dynasty used for stability and order of the dynasty as well as for the education of people. This thesis studies and analyzes the regularity which appears in the formation of architecture mainly in the aspects of layout, plane formality. Jeon-hak-hoo-myo is the arraying formality in which Myungryundang and Daesungjun are placed on a line of one axis with Myungryundang placed lower in the front and Daesungjun place higher in the back and this formality is applied for a land that slopes. The layout formation of Gangkak space is divided into Jeonjaehudang-type and Jeondanghujae-type. This study analyze arrangement type and plane characteristics about local old time school belonging to the Confucian shrine construction at Youngdong districts in Gangwon-do, there is purpose of research to wish to clear the regional special quality of local old time school belonging to the Confucian shrine construction at Youngdong districts in Gangwon-do.

Contemporary Suburban House is a kind of 'Urban House in nature' that urban middle class peoples elect voluntarily to raise life quality and make their own identity. Therefore, 'The Relationship with Nature' is an essential item in the design of Suburban House. But in the site plan of Suburban House, 'The Nature' as outdoor space is only the rest of the indoor space. The outdoor space is hold in common visually but not actually. 'The Nature' is not a labour ground as the case in rural society but a background of village. The plan of Suburban House is based on the urban apartment plan. So in plan, 'The Nature' is also an object for contemplation as the case in urban house. The outline of the plan as a border line between indoor space and outdoor space is controlled uniformally and 'The Nature' is linked only visually in the direction the resident wants to see.

This study has been researched mainly about the gradual changing patterns of site plan and plan layout of 17 sampling traditional houses in kyungpuk province during the time period of 1877-1945. The objective of this study is to closely examine the characteristics of locality and trend of the times. Survey and Measured drawing, personal interviews with clients has been carried out and the result is as down below; 1.The certain changes have shown that the furnace in sarangchae(outer wing for men) in ㅁ shaped and ${\ulcorner}$ ${\lrcorner}$ shaped houses served only for that purpose and inner gate has been built in sideward of sarangchae. 2.As living standard was upgraded storage space and size of the rooms got bigger. On the other hand, spacial formation was emphasized by its function accordding to house activities and living circulation because the family members in direct line became reality of the time. 3.The modernistic thought of rationalism and convenience are well expressed in the plan layout and house living as a whole.

Manufacturing systems like a motor production process are analyzed using simulations than numerical analyses and/or heuristic methods due to their stochastic properties. The SME(small and medium enterprise) producing automotive motors that develop CIM systems to improve production performance is focused as an application site. We analyze and understand the system exactly using layout based simulation, and then we will suggest the initial feashible production-plan dependent on the layout to overcome weak-points of the current system(i.e., high WIPs, bottle-neck processes, due-date delays and etc.). And, solutions are suggested to increase performances of SMEs producing automotive motors in this paper. The simulation model built in this study is moedlled and analyzed with fully object-oriented methodology using SiMPLE++TM according to properties of production processes of the automotive motor. And, we will introduce ways to verify the model with developed templates for reusability when new needs will be occurred such as designing a new ship, extension or rearrangement of the system, change of production-plans, receiving urgent orders, and so on.

The purpose of this study is to develope evaluating indicators for housing plan on slope-site. At first, housing plan elements were derived from existing studies, and then, the importance of elements were evaluated by expert group. AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) was used to calculate the weight of housing plan elements on slope-site. The results are as follows: 'building layout' is relatively important, and followed important elements are selected as 'pedestrian circulation' and 'parking plan', and then, detail elements for building layout, 'daylight', 'view', 'privacy' and 'using level' are all relatively important.

Korean traditionally prefer a house with a southern exposure to other styles. Moreover, pretty part of dwelling style in Korea is apartment building. But generally, there are much more north oriented rooms than opposite one in apartment. Generally, most Korean tends to consider the direction of the room as an important factor to decide the arrangement of their furniture. Also, the location of window, door, bed, and closet can affect on the decision-making process of furniture layout. So, the closet position should be determined by not only window direction and door position, but also the furniture arrangement preference of residents. After considering the window and door position, there are 16 alternatives in a room. (Multiplied 4 window directions by 4 door positions under the assumption that the window and the door cannot be on the same side of the wall.) Also, this study analyzed each room style ratio considering the symmetry of each plan by comparing the apartment building plan. This paper studied the bedroom style by analyzing the 180 apartment building plans and survey of furniture layout; the furniture in this study represents bed and desk those are mainly laid in Korean bedroom. Finally, this paper suggested the methodology to find optimal alternatives of furniture and closet layout for high-rise apartment residents, based on the door and window position, and the furniture layout preference of residents.

This study compares the space depth and layout of a modern apartment floor plan (MAFP) and the standard floor plan of traditional Korean houses (STKHs), which has preserved the traditional beauty of Korea. Space Syntax was applied to compare the MAFP and STKH. The space within MAFP was more divided into many spaces than the STKH. In both types of floor plans, the living room space had the highest degree of integration and was used for central functions in the each floor plan. The STKH and the space in the MAFP have more segregated space than integrated space. In the STKH, the master bedroom and other rooms were found to be segregated space. However, the master bedroom of the MAFP was highly integrated space. The function of the thet maru has been greatly reduced in the STKH, and the numaru was classified as a highly segregated space. The evacuation space was the most segregated space in the MAFP. The STKH has been adapted and changed according to the trends of the times, and the MAFP reflects our traditional living habits.

As customer's demands are varying, the type of floor plan of apartment is changed into expanded type with balcony unified to living room from general type with balcony separated from living room and so is changing the layout of L(living room), D(dining room) and K(kitchen). This study aims to examine how the type of floor plan of living room affects the floor impact sound insulation performance and to propose fundamental idea to floor plan layout of apartment in terms of floor impact sound reduction.

The purpose of this study is to consider the idea and the background of the establishment of master plans for parks and green spaces of metropolis in Japan, China and Korea after a careful comparative review of layout planning of green areas, plan objectives, future images and main measures. The method of study is the analysis of the control and plans in these three countries. The study reveals the characteristic of each plan as follows: 1) the conservation and revitalization of the shape of land and the river system in Tokyo; 2) the materialization of ideal green spaces in Beijing, the combination of the ring green and the radial layout of parks and green spaces; 3) the combination of cruciform greenery and the utilized existing public open spaces in Seoul. The result also shows that these cities have the different development of projects but face the common challenges.

This paper deals with a case study on the process improvement and the layout design of a boiler factory with FactoryCAD. Firstly, two alternatives of job reallocation are suggested with the understanding of problems in current process. The layout planning for these new alternatives is carried out by simple procedure and the detailed analyses are performed by the aid of FactoryCAD program. The result shows that the new layout plan brings on about 10% reduction of travel distance. The utilization of FactoryCAD program can simplify the process of layout design.
