자동차 차체조립공정설계를 위한 시뮬레이션 (Assembly Performance Evaluation Using FACTOR / AIM for the Automobile Body Assembly Line)

  • The design of automobile body assembly line is one of essential parts for improving the process performance. The major objective of this research is to develop a performance evaluation model for automobile assembly line using a closed queueing network(CQN) and simulation method. In this study we used a two-step approach to compute the performance of the assembly line : first, we used CQN model considering assembly line equipments and the line operating time under the assumption of no failure, and second we used a well-known simulator FACTOR/AIM. Finally we implemented this model on a K automobile company and we have shown the sample results of automobile body assembly line.

  • To improve the reliability of power-line communication systems, the measurement and analysis has been proceeded in many power-line channel environments. In spite of the wired channel, power line channel has many multi-paths that are changing with load-variation, line-interconnection, impedance mismatching and so on. We accordingly need an analysis method based on the multi-path channel impulse response. Recently, a method to describe the homogeneous Power-line network has been published[1]. In this paper the modified method that can describe both the homogeneous and non -homogeneous power-line network has presented.

한국형 고속 전철을 활용한 기존선 속도향상 고찰 (Speed Up Test on conventional Line by using Korean High Speed Train(HSR-350x))

  • KTX has started commercial service from Seoul to Busan and Mokpo since April 1, 2004. The service line is composed of new-high speed line and conventional line. Before KTX is runs, the maximum operational speed on conventional line was 140km/h. In order to reduce the traveling time, operation speed of KTX must be increased on the conventional line. So, we performed test running with prototype HSR-350x and verification of safety was made in $10\%$ speed-up. Korean High Speed Train HSR-350x) was developed by G7 - R&D project. In this study, in safety aspect, several technical reviews are introduced and the possibility for reduction of traveling time is investigated on the conventional line by using HSR-350x.

Design of an extremely miniaturized branch-line coupler

  • In this paper, a new size-reduction approach for branch-line coupler is introduced which uses parallel end-shorted coupled lines with lumped capacitors. The characteristic of the new design was analyzed using even-odd mode method, and simulated on HFSS before fabricated on the FR4 epoxy glass cloth copper-clad plat (CCL) PCB substrate at center frequency of 1 GHz. The electrical length of transmission line was reduced to 15 degrees, therefore the size of branch-line coupler was largely reduced approximately maintaining the same characteristic around the stable center frequency. The insertion loss of the branch-line coupler filter was -4.39 dB. The size of the overall hybrid is $20mm{\times}20mm$. Measurements results were well agreed with the simulated ones.

Prediction of ions migration behavior in mortar under 2-D ALMT application to inhibit ASR

  • This study investigated four electric field configurations of two-dimensional accelerate lithium migration technique (ALMT), including line-to-line, plane-to-line, contour-to-line and plane-to-plane, and analyzed the ion migration behavior and efficiency. It was found that the free ion distribution diagram and voltage distribution diagram were similar, and ions migrated in the power line direction. The electrode modules were used for the mortar specimen with w/c ratio of 0.5. The effectively processed areas accounted for 14.1%, 39.0%, 49.4% and 51.4% of total area respectively on Day 28. Larger electrode area was more advantageous to ion migration. In addition, it was proved that the two-dimensional electric field could be divided into different equifield line active regions, and regarded as affected by one-dimensional electric field, and the ion migration results in various equifield line active regions were predicted by using the duration analysis method based on the theoretical model of ion migration obtained from one-dimensional test.

  • Distance realy is tripped by the line impedance calculated at the relay point. Accordingly the accurate operation depends on the precise calculation of line impedance. Impedance can be accurately calculated in case of overhead line. However, in case of power cables or combined transmission lines, impedance can not be accurately calculated because cable systems have the sheath, grounding resistance, and sheath voltage limiters(SVLs). There are also several grounding systems in cable systems. Therefore, if there is a fault in cable systems, these terms will severely be caused much error to calculation of impedance. Accordingly the proper compensation should be developed for the correct operation of the distance relay. This paper presents the distance calculating algorithm in combined transmission line with power cable using wavelet transform. In order to achieve such purpose, judgement method to discriminate the fault section in both sections was proposed using D1 coefficient summation in db4. And also, error compensation value was proposed for correct calculation of impedance in power cables section.

구순구개열 환자에 있어 직선봉합법의 역할 (Revisited Straight Line Technique for Unilateral Cleft Lip)

  • The variations of cleft lip deformities imposed the difficulty to the surgical correction for them. Straight line technique for cleft lip surgery has been ignored quite long since other techniques were developed. Initially the straight line technique was introduced and widely accepted because it is simple and easy to perform during the period of no adequate anesthetics. But it was abandoned for its several shortcomings such as tighten lip, vermilion notching, anatomical distortion, and wound contractures. Recently, some groups advocated the usefulness of straight line technique which has a significant modification from its original form. Additionally the variable degree of cleft lip deformity allows simple straight line closure for those patients. Here a case of simple straight line technique was presented and discussed for its reliability and plausible results as well.

계류삭의 비선형운동특성해석에 관한 연구 (A Study on Nonlinear Analysis of Mooring Lines)

  • This paper investigates the static configurations and the dynamic behaviors of a single point mooring line. To obtain the static configuration and static tension distribution along the mooring line, including the effect of fluid nonlinear drag and the elasticity of the line, the Runge-Kutta fourth order numerical method was used. The relationship between the horizontal excursion and the horizontal restoring force component of the mooring line, which is very important to a mooring line design, and the effect of a subsurface buoy on the static configuration are presented. In nonlinear dynamic analysis including nonlinear fluid drag acting on the line and geometrical nonlinearity for large deflections, finite element method using updated Lagrangian was used to obtain the solution. In the case of upper end harmonic excitation of the mooring line, the dynamic motion and the tension were also presented.

  • In-line measurement systems are preferred to those in analytical laboratories, since in-line systems provide rapid response to process upsets. If an in-line measurement system exhibits an unstable variation and if this instability in measurement variation goes undetected, it will make the process monitoring procedure invalid. This paper presents a stability evaluation procedure for the in-line measurement system using two independent readings from the in-line measurement system and one reading from the analytical laboratory, which requires less measurement cost and time.

An Exploration on the Use of Data Envelopment Analysis for Product Line Selection

  • We define product line (or mix) selection problem as selecting a subset of potential product variants that can simultaneously minimize product proliferation and maintain market coverage. Selecting the most efficient product mix is a complex problem, which requires analyses of multiple criteria. This paper proposes a method based on Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) for product line selection. Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) is a linear programming based technique commonly used for measuring the relative performance of a group of decision making units with multiple inputs and outputs. Although DEA has been proved to be an effective evaluation tool in many fields, it has not been applied to solve the product line selection problem. In this study, we construct a five-step method that systematically adopts DEA to solve a product line selection problem. We then apply the proposed method to an existing line of staplers to provide quantitative evidence for managers to generate desirable decisions to maximize the company profits while also fulfilling market demands.
