  • The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of the father's experiences from his family-of-origin, marital conflict, and childrearing behaviors on his child's behavioral problems, as well as any differences due to the child's sex. The subjects were 837 days of 4th and 5th graders in six elementary schools and their fathers in Seoul and Pusan. The data were analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling(SEM) to verify the theoretical models among the variables. The results showed that the pathways of the impact of the father's experiences from his family-of-origin differed, depending on the father-son group and the father-daughter group, upon the child's intermailizing and extenalizing behavioral problems through marital conflict and the father's childrearing behaviors. Firstly, in the father-son model, the father's experiences from his family-of-origin had an impact on the son's internalizing and extenalizing behavioral problems through marital conflict and the his negative childrearing behaviors. Secondly, the father-daughter model exhibited two pathways; the father's experiences from his family-of-origin had an impact on the child's internalizing and externalizing behavioral problems through his negative chilrearing behaviors, and the father's experiences from family-of-origin had an impact on the child's internalizing behavioral problems through marital conflict and his positive childrearing.

  • This study represents the current situation on the Korean Government's investigation into the imports with the infraction of the country of origin indication law, showing how much those imports affect the purchasers as well as the domestic competitors in Korea. According to the HS 4 unit, the range of imports with the country of origin indication should be 55.2% of all imports, but it turned out there were actually 87.6% of them, according to the number of the import declarations in the first half year of 2010. The government's investigation on the infraction of the country of origin indication is conducted in the stages of customs and distribution into market. As a result of recent 4 years government's investigation into the imports with the infraction of the country of origin indication, the rate of inspection was averagely 3.6% of the reported number of imports in the stage of customs, the rate of the infraction of the country of origin indication cases was 0.14% of the total reported number, and 3.85% of the total actually inspected number. The investigation in the stage of distribution was below 20% level of the stage of customs inspection, on the number of caught cases basis. A survey of 4 categorized imports such as Watches, Tools, Glasses frames, and Clothes, which are assumed to happened frequently with the infraction cases, shows that the decreased sales rate of the domestic competitors was averagely 18.8% and the extent of the damage on consumers was 34.7% of the purchased prices, with both rates resulted from the investigation in the stage of distribution into market.

  • Objectives : This study was done to find the philological origin of the concept of pulse of the vital gate being assigned left or right according to sex distinction, and study its theoretical features that had been applied to clinical diagnosis. Methods : Medical books such as Maijue(脈訣), Leizheng Huorenshu(類證活人書), Maijuezhizhang(脈訣指掌), Yixuerumen(醫學入門), which directly mentions or having been considered to mention such concept of pulse of the vital gate, were inquired to find the philological origin of the concept. And after the philological origin was confirmed, combination between this concept and traditional pulse theory was also discussed. Results & Conclusions : The philological origin of the concept was confirmed as having the Taoist origin. In this study it was discussed through the contents of Xiyuedouxiansheng Xiuzhenzhinan(西嶽竇先生修眞指南). A term that is called 'the vital pulse(命脈)' appears in this book, and it could be said that the concept of 'the vital pulse' which is assigned on left or right according to sex distinction in the book like this had lead the pulse assignment of the vital gate into such a form that considers the sex distinction. After being accepted in medical theory, this concept also had been united with traditional pulse theory that appears in Nanjing(難經) and Maijing(脈經) to become a applicable theory in clinical diagnosis.

  • Globalization of market has put considerable research activities in cosmopolitism and nationalism. In addition, consumer's perception of product's country of origin is widely regarded as an important influence on their shopping behavior. The objective of this paper is to investigate the joint effect of cosmopolitanism and nationalism on shopping orientation and awareness of the country of origin of fashion products among Korean young consumers. Data from 471 young Korean consumers were analyzed. According to the cosmopolitanism/nationalism measure, respondents were segmented into three groups: global, local and glocal group. Results indicated that global and glocal consumers value symbolic and non-conforming aspects of fashion product shopping and were more interested in country of origin of products than local consumers. Global consumers showed higher level of foreign product preference than local and glocal consumers. Some managerial implication for marketing practitioners was suggested.

  • In this note we examine the effects on subnormality of adding a new weight or changing some weights for a given subnormal weighted shift. We consider a subnormal weighted shift with a positive point mass at the origin by means of continuous functions. Finally, we introduce some methods for evaluating point mass at the origin about moment measures associated with weighted shifts.

  • Background/aim : Atherosclerotic disease at the origin of the vertebral arteries is one of the risk factors for vertebrobasilar ischemic disease. Assessment and visualization of the origin of the vertebral arteries with color doppler sonography is a non-trivial task. The aim of this study is to increase the visualization rate of the origin of the vertebral arteries with color doppler sonography. Materials and Methods : Color doppler sonography for the vertebral arteries included carotid arteries was performed to 198 patients. We first examined the vertebral artery in the upper neck in the direction of the subclavian artery to distinguish its origin more easily. If the vertebral artery origin was not visualized in natural position, the examiner pushed the transducer toward a clavicle or pushed the shoulder of patient by the other hand. The technical methods for visualization of the vertebral artery origin were classified into three grades: natural position, pushing the transducer, and pushing the shoulder of patient according to the depth (3.0 cm and shallower, deeper than 3.0 cm) of the origin. Results : The origin of the vertebral arteries could be visualized in 97% on the right and in 92% on the left. The origin of the vertebral arteries could be visualized in 98.6%, 1.4%, and 0.0% in natural position, pushing the transducer, and pushing the shoulder of patient, respectively, at shallower than 3.0 cm on the right side. The origin of the vertebral arteries could be visualized in 81.2%, 14.6%, and 4.2% in natural position, pushing the transducer, and pushing the shoulder of patient, respectively, at deeper than 3.0 cm on the right side. The origin of the vertebral arteries could be visualized in 85.4%, 10.7%, and 3.9% in natural position, pushing the transducer, and pushing the shoulder of patient, respectively, at shallower than 3.0 cm on the left side. The origin of the vertebral arteries could be visualized in 55.7%, 30.4%, and 13.9% in natural position, pushing the transducer, and pushing the shoulder of patient, respectively, at deeper than 3.0 cm on the left side. Conclusion : If the examiner pushes the transducer toward a clavicle or pushes the shoulder of patient by the other hand, when the vertebral artery origin during the color doppler sonography is not visualized in natural position, visualization rate of the origin of the both vertebral arteries is increased.
