The Effect of Perceived Website Quality of Fashion Shopping on Customer Satisfaction and Repurchase Intentions for Korean and Chinese College Students (한.중 대학생들의 의류쇼핑 웹사이트 품질지각에 따른 고객만족과 재구매의도)

  • This study investigates the dimensionality of perceived web site quality for fashion e-retailers to compare the differences in perceived web site quality between Korean and Chinese college students in the identification of the decisive web site quality dimensions for customer satisfaction and repurchase intentions. Data were collected from 300 Korean and 300 Chinese online apparel shoppers. The survey was statistically analyzed by factor analysis, T-test, and regression analysis. The perceived service quality dimensions were identified as product quality, economic efficiency, information quality, site design, and trust. The Chinese college students had significantly higher evaluations than Korean college students on information quality and trust. For Korean college students, product quality, economic efficiency, and trust were the most decisive predictors of customer satisfaction and they have indirect effects on repurchase intentions. For Chinese college students, product quality and information quality were identified as the most decisive predictors of customer satisfaction and they have indirect effects on repurchase intentions. Strategic directions for e-commerce business targeting Korean or Chinese college students are suggested in the conclusion.

Health-related Factors, Nutrition Knowledge and Dietary Habits among Nursing and Allied Health College Students (간호보건계열 대학생의 건강 관련요인, 영양지식 및 식생활 태도)

  • Purpose: This study compares the differences in health-related factors, nutrition knowledge and dietary habits between nursing and allied health college students. Methods: Nursing students(n=499) and allied health college students(n=402) were surveyed on their health-related factors, nutrition knowledge and dietary habits. Data were collected from two universities in A city, Korea. Data were analyzed through descriptive statistics, $x^2$ distribution and t-test, $x^2$-test and Pearson correlation coefficient using SPSS 21.0. Results: The level of nutrition knowledge was higher among nursing students than students majoring in other fields. Scores regarding dietary habits were not significantly different between nursing students and other students. Conclusion: Nutritional education for college students is needed in order to improve their health. Nutritional education programs should be tailored to meet various needs of these students.

Exposure to internet pornography and sexual behaviors of college students (일부 대학생들의 인터넷 음란물 접촉과 성행동)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the difference of sexual behaviors of college students according to internet pornography contact. Methods: Subjects consisted of 472 students of K college located in chungcheongbuk-do. The data were collected through a self-administered questionnaire from May, 21 to May, 31, 2007. Results: Eighty-seven percent (87.3%) of respondents contacted internet pornography. As for the first time they contacted it, forty-eight percent(48.3%) contacted it when they were middle school students. Forty-three percent(43.6%) contacted it one time per several months and twenty-one percent(21.2%) contacted it within 10 minutes. Sexual behaviors(hand grasping, hugging, kiss, masterbation, coitus, pregnancy, love expression in public place) showed significant differences according to Internet pornography contact experience, period, frequency, and time. Conclusion: College administration should investigate sexual behavior patterns according intemet pornography contact and provide all college students regular sexual health promotion program.

Effects of Nutrition Education on Nutrition Knowledge, Dietary Attitudes, and Food Behavior of College Students (대학생의 영양지식, 식태도 및 식행동에 대한 영양교육의 효과)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of nutrition education on nutrition knowledge, dietary attitudes, and food behavior of college students. The subjects of this study were 350 college students attending a university. The education group students received nutrition education three hours per week during a 4-week period offered in a 'Home Economics' course. A total of 150 students in the education group and 200 students in the non-education group completed pre-test questionaires examining nutrition knowledge, dietary attitudes, and food behaviors. Major findings were as follows : nutrition knowledge, and food behavior of the education group were improved compared to the non-education group. But significant changes were not observed in dietary attitudes in the education group. There were higher correlations between nutrition knowledge and dietary attitudes score, and between dietary attitudes and food behavior score at the posttest than those at the pretest. These results suggest that nutrition education for college students can effectively improve their nutrition knowledge and food behaviors.

  • The purpose of this study is to compare the impulsive purchasing tendency of Korean and U.S. college students. In particular, the study examined the effects of self-regulated learning and self-regulated consumption on college students' impulsive buying tendency. A total of 680 valid samples were obtained from online self-reported surveys in Korea and the United States. Both self-regulated learning and self-regulated consumption (self-control and self-supervision) were higher in US college students than Korean students. Self-regulated learning did not influence impulsive purchasing tendency. However, the impulsive purchasing tendency increased as the level of self-supervision among self-regulated consumption decreased. When purchases were made in stores, impulsive purchasing tendency increased in both South Korea and the US. Therefore, it is necessary to make efforts to decrease the impulsive purchasing tendency by fostering self-regulated consumption capacity of college students through consumer education.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the regional differences in food preference among college students participating in a nutrition education program via internet. The subjects were 1672 college students (male: 762, female: 910) and divided into 4 regional groups. A survey using a self-administered questionnaire was conducted using a self-administered questionnaire on taste and food preferences. Data was collected via internet or by mail. Prevalence of the food preferences among regional groups was examined using SPSS statistical package. Food preferences were significantly associated with sex and region. Female students in Chungcheong and Kyungsang areas showed significantly higher preference of the hot taste compared to Seoul and Kyunggi areas. Female students in Seoul, Kyunggi and Chungcheong areas showed significantly higher preference of the boiled bean rice compared to the Kyungsang area. The preference for Kimchi stew of female students in Seoul and Kyunggi was significantly higher than those in Chungcheong and Kyngsang areas. Male students in the Chungcheong area showed significantly higher Preferences of the Young radish kimchi, while female students in this area showed significantly higher preference of the Radish kimchi compared to other areas. The preference for roasted laver of female students in Seoul, Kyunggi and Kyungsang areas was significantly higher compared to the Chungcheong area. The preference for fried chicken of male students in Seoul was significantly higher than that in other areas. The preference for bean sprouts and season bonnet bellflower of male students in Seoul, Chungcheong and Kyungsang areas were significantly higher compared to the Kyunggi area. The Effects of College Students' Sociotropy and Ambivalence over Emotional Expressiveness on Interpersonal Problems (대학생의 관계지향성이 대인관계문제에 미치는 영향: 정서표현양가성의 매개적 역할)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of sociotropy, as perceived by college students, and ambivalence over emotional expressiveness on their interpersonal problems. A total of 248 college students (127 males and 121 females) living in Seoul and Gyonggi responded to questionnaires, which included items related to sociotropy, ambivalence over emotional expressiveness, and interpersonal problem. First, college students' sociotropy was correlated with ambivalence over emotional expressiveness and interpersonal problems. It was suggested that people with high level of sociotropy experienced more emotional expressive conflict and interpersonal problems than people with low level of sociotropy. Second, male and female college students' ambivalence over emotional expressiveness partially mediated the relation between sociotropy and move toward other people, one of the interpersonal problem's subtypes. Male college students' ambivalence over emotional expressiveness has fully mediated the relation between sociotropy and move against other people, one of the interpersonal problem's subtypes. And female college students' ambivalence over emotional expressiveness has fully mediated the relation between sociotropy and move away from other people, one of the interpersonal problem's subtypes. According to gender difference, different interpersonal problems appeared. This study's results may provide some important suggestions for interpersonal problems in college students by increasing understanding of multiple dimensions according to their internal tendency and emotional expressiveness.

Comparison of Clothing Attitudes and Clothing Purchase Criteria between Korean and Korean-Chinese College Female Students (한국과 중국 조선족 여대생의 의복태도와 의복구매평가기준 비교)

  • The purpose of this study was to compare clothing attitudes and the criteria for clothing selection between Korean and Korean-Chinese college female students in the Yanbian region of China. The subjects were selected as follows: 404 Korean female college students in the Choongchung area and 242 Korean-Chinese female college students in the Yanbian region of China. Questionnaires were used to collect the data and the data was analyzed by frequency, factor analysis, and t-test. The major results of this study were as follows: The clothing attitudes of the total respondents were classified into 5 factors: the fashion involving factor, the modesty involving factor, the economy conscious factor, the brand-name oriented factor, and the practical user factor. The modesty involving factor, the economy conscious factor, the brand-name oriented factor, and the practical user factor were significantly different between Korean and Korean-Chinese college female students. Korean consumers thought highly of the economy conscious factor and the practical user factor compared with Korean-Chinese college female students. However, Korean-Chinese college female students thought highly of the brand-name oriented factor and the modesty factor compared with Korean consumers.

Smoking, Alcohol Consumption and Dietary Behavior of College Students in the Kyungsan Area (경산지역 대학생의 흡연, 음주 및 식행동에 관한 조사)

  • Alcohol has as much effect on our lives as the different taste for foods that people have all of the world. Recently, the interest about drinking habits has increased with the rise in health problems for college students with poor health related behavior. The purpose of this study was to evaluate alcohol consumption, smoking and eating behavior of college students in the Kyungsan area. This survey was administered through questionnaires, and the subjects were 177 male and 189 female college students. The self-administered questionnaire was composed of questions concerning social-demographic factors, general characteristics, cigarette smoking, alcohol consumption and eating behavior. The data were analyzed by $\chi$$^2$-test and t-test. According to the survey results, almost of all of the survey subjects drank alcohol. The mean alcohol consumption level per day for male students (33.9${\pm}$29.7g) were significantly higher than for the female students (18.5${\pm}$16.5g), and more than 39.6% of the subjects drank alcohol 1-3 days a week. Alcohol consumption changed the students eating habits. Most students had dietary problems such as fast eating, skipping meal and spending too much money on fast food. The survey about eating behavior of the students showed the male students had more problems when compared with female students. Alcohol consumption levels and alcohol dependence showed a significant positive correlation with smoking cigarettes (r=0.386, p<0.001). The correlation coefficient between alcohol consumption and eating behavior was negatively correlated with skipping meals (r=-0.121, p<0.001). However, there were significant and positive correlations with overeating when students were depressed (r=0.130, p<0.05), with eating meals when watching TV or videos (r=0.085) and with spending money on fast food(r=0.235, p<0.235). The results indicate that health related behaviors of college students in the present study were fairly good. More attention should be given to college students and their habits of skipping meal, alcohol drinking and smoking, and the fairly good students can act as a model for correct dietary behavior so as to improve overall student health.

A Correlation Study between Acoustic and EGG Parameters in Ordinary College Students and Classical Singing Students (일반학생과 성악도를 대상으로 Dr. Speech의 음향학적 측정치와 EGG 측정치의 상관관계 비교 연구)

  • Background and Objective : Classical singing students who have received in systematic voice training appeared distinctive voice characteristics compared to normal people who have not received in systematic voice training. The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between acoustic parameters and Electroglottography(EGG) parameters in two groups(ordinary college students vs. classical singing students group). Materials and Methods : The 80 ordinary college students and 65 classical singing students participated in this study by utilizing Dr. speech program to obtain acoustic measurements and physiologic measurements simultaneously. The Pearson correlation coefficient was used to find the correlation between acoustic parameters and EGG parameters in two groups(ordinary college students group and classical singing students group). Results : The results of the study were as follows : First, there was no correlation between Jitter and EGG Jitter in ordinary college students group, but there was strong correlation between Jitter and EGG Jitter in classical singing students group. Second, there was no correlation between Shimmer and EGG Shimmer in ordinary college students group, but there was strong correlation between Shimmer and EGG Shimmer in classical singing students group. Third, there was no correlation between Harmonic to Noise Ratio(HNR) and EGG HNR in ordinary college students group, but there was strong correlation between HNR and EGG HNR in classical singing students group. Finally, there was no correlation between Normalized Noise Energy(NNE) and EGG NNE in two groups.
