  • This study investigated the effects of job stress, job attitude, and social support on the relationship between client violence and social worker job response. The multi-mediating effect of job stress, job attitude, and social support between client violence and social worker job response was empirically analyzed. 257 social workers in social welfare facilities were analyzed using SPSS. The following conclusions were drawn. First, there was a significant correlation between client violence, job stress, job attitude, social support, and job response variables. Client violence was affecting variables related to social worker job response. Second, job stress, job attitude, and social support had multiple mediating effects. The parallel mediation effect and the serial mediation effect were verified. Third, job attitude was found to be a variable of multiple mediating effects. Fourth, job stress and social support were found to be double mediating effect variables. In response, programs and manuals suitable for the type of social welfare facilities and the policy basis for preparing countermeasures for social workers were limited, and follow-up studies on various variables were suggested.

  • Background: Occupational safety issues related to food delivery riders emerge with evidence of an increase in associated traffic accidents and injuries along with the rapid growth of the online food delivery business. This paper focuses on food delivery riders' job stress and investigates its relationships with both antecedents and risky riding outcomes. Method: Survey data were collected from 279 Taiwanese food delivery motorcycle riders and analyzed using hierarchical regression analysis. Results: The results show that job overload and time pressure positively impact riders' job stress, while self-efficacy slightly reduces job stress. Job stress positively leads to risky driving behavior and distraction. In addition, time pressure can strengthen the impact of job overload on job stress. Riders' risky riding attitude can also strengthen the impacts of job stress on risky riding behaviors and distraction. Conclusion: This paper advances the literature on online food delivery as well as the occupational safety improvement of food delivery riders. Specifically, this study provides insights into the job stress of food delivery motorcycle riders and the effects of job characteristics and risky behavioral consequences.

  • The main objective of this study is to evaluate role-related job stressors of physical therapists and to examine the relationship between job stress and organizational effectiveness. A survey was conducted through structured questionnaire for the physical therapists working in Busan area, and data from 175 therapists were utilized in the final analysis. Survey items included general characteristics of the therapists(sex, age, education, marital status, religion, income, etc.), various kinds of job stressors(role conflict, role overload, role ambiguity, physical burden), and organizational effectiveness measured in terms of job satisfaction, organizational commitment and organizational citizenship behavior. Major results are as follows: 1) The level of physical therapists' job stress was found to be in average range, recording 2.65 on 4-point scale. 2) It appeared that main job stressors of physical therapists were role ambiguity and role overload, and this was more apparent in the case of younger, relatively less-educated, unmarried, and lower-grade employees. 3) On the other hand, in the case of relatively more-educated and higher-paid employees, role conflict was comparatively more important job stressor. 4) Regression analysis suggested that, as Job stress increased, job satisfaction and organizational commitment decreased; however, no significant relationship was found between job stress and organizational citizenship behavior. 5) These results imply that, in order to perform effective and efficient personnel administration of physical therapists, adequate job stress management would be very important task for the hospital managers.

The researcher analyzed the findings with the aid of SPSS(Statistical Package for Social Sciences). The research came to draw the following conclusions on the basis of frequency, percentage, T-test, and F-test, multiple regression. I. The analysis into the job stress of the subjects indicates that there is a significant difference in difficult questions among their work places, working hours, academic background, job satisfaction and jobs(P<.05). The job stress stands at 3.48 on the average, and the area of conflict among too much work and job performance turns out to be highly perceived. 2. The analysis into the degree of the symptoms of the job stress of the subjects shows that there is a significant difference in work place, working hours, job satisfaction and the continual maintenance of job(P<.05). The symptoms of job stress accounts for 2.65 on the average. Physical symptoms turn out to be highly perceived; The response 'My arms and legs are killing me' proves to stand for 3.03. 3. The correlation between job stress and the symptoms of job stress turns out to be significant(r=0.519, P<0.001), and there is a significant correlation between the average points of each job-stress area and the average points of the symptoms of job stress. All in all, it is necessary that dental technicians themselves should make positive efforts to control and relieve stress and that more efficient programs should be implemented with a view to dealing with stress.
